1980 Colombia hostage crisis recalled on 45th anniversary

On Feb. 27, 1980, Colombian militants called the M-19 stormed the Dominican Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. They took nearly 60 people hostage, including diplomats and country ambassadors. The crisis would last 61 days before it was resolved and the militants left for Cuba.
