Spring 2025 Service Changes

Spring is in the air, and with it, changes in transit service across the Puget Sound region.
King County Metro (March 29)The most substantive changes in Metro's service change are reshuffling of Seattle Transit Measure funded service hours. There are also bus routes in Federal Way and Redmond moving into nearby light rail stations, and the usual miscellaneous changes.
Seattle Transit Measure service additions:
- Route 8 will see a handful of added trips on Saturdays, and Sunday frequency jumping from every 20 minutes to every 15.
- Route 36 will also get some added Saturday trips and a frequency boost on Sunday, going from 12 minutes to 10 minutes.
- Route 107 is set to gain the most, with 124 new weekend trips. Service on both Saturdays and Sundays will double during the day, going from 30 minute frequency to 15. About 6 trips are also added on weekdays.
- Route 124 will get 1 new trip on Saturdays and 2 new trips on Sundays.
- RapidRide G Line gets 2 new late night trips every day.
- RapidRide H Line gets 5 new trips on weekdays and 3 new trips on Saturdays and Sundays.
Seattle Transit Measure service reductions:
- Route 56 will run 1 fewer trip during the morning commute.
- RapidRide C Line will run significantly fewer trips during the afternoon commute. Rather than getting a frequency boost, it will continue to run every 10 minutes throughout the afternoon and evening (previously the evening commute saw buses every 7.5 minutes).
Buses moving to new light rail stations:
- Routes A Line, 177, 181, 182, 183, 187, 193, 901, and 903 will no longer serve the Federal Way Transit Center, and instead serve the bus loop in the new Federal Way Downtown Station ahead of rail service (expected in 2026). After that, the Federal Way Transit Center will close, and the existing parking garage will be used for the Federal Way Downtown Station going forward.
Buses moving to new light rail stations on May 10th, when the 2 Line extension to downtown Redmond opens:
- Routes 224, 250, and 930 will move a bit to serve new stops at the Downtown Redmond Station on May 10.
- The RapidRide B Line will be extended to Downtown Redmond Station, and will be straightened on 156th Ave NE. It will no longer hop over to 152nd Ave NE, and no longer directly serve the Overlake P&R and Overlake Village Station on May 10.
- Route 269 will add a stop at Marymoor Village Station on May 10.
Grab bag:
- RapidRide E Line and Route 62 will get minor stop changes.
- Routes 226, 240, and 241 have some schedule adjustments to align better with school bell times.
The 2 Line is being extended in May, Service on ST Express is adjusted in Snohomish County, and some suspended service in Federal Way and Pierce County is being restored. More details can be found on their service change page.
Link Light Rail:
- 1 Line will have minor schedule adjustments beginning March 29.
- 2 Line will be extended, adding new stations at Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond beginning May 10.
ST Express Snohomish County (starting March 29th):
- Routes 510 and 532 are getting a few added trips.
- Route 515 is losing a few trips.
- Route 522 is shortening one trip on Saturdays.
- Routes 512, 513, 532, and 535 are getting some trip adjustments.
St Express Pierce County and Federal Way (starting March 30):
- Routes 574, 577, 578, and 586 are moving out of the Federal Way Transit Center and into the new Federal Way Downtown Station.
- Route 577 is restoring select peak trips and Sunday trips which were suspended in 2024. This brings Federal Way to Seattle headways on Sundays back to 30 minutes from 60 minutes.
- Route 578 is getting schedule adjustments, and 2 additional weekday trips.
- Route 580, which was suspended in its entirety in 2024, is restored between South Hill P&R and Puyallup Station. The Lakewood to South Hill portion remains suspended as it has been since 2021.
- Route 590 is getting partial service to 10th & Commerce in Tacoma restored (this was suspended in 2024 except for one trip), and 22 suspended weekday trips are restored. It is also getting schedule adjustments.
- Route 594 is getting 3 new weekday trips and 10 new Sunday trips, and schedule adjustments.
In its first service change since Link to Lynnwood transformed the county's transit network, Community Transit is making some adjustments. Everett to Boeing commuter service is being consolidated. Some other routes are also seeing minor route changes. There are some new additions, and one slight reduction.
Everett to Boeing (Seaway Transit Center):
- Routes 270, 271, and 280 will lose the extension of some trips to Seaway Transit Center.
- Express route 907, which brings commuters to Seaway Transit Center, will add a stop at Everett Station to allow riders affected by the above change to reach Seaway Transit Center.
Span of service changes:
- Routes 103, 240, and 903 southbound will start earlier on weekdays.
- Routes 102, 103, and 130 will end later on weekends.
- Routes 106, 117, and 240 will end later on Saturdays.
- Route 106 will start earlier on Sundays.
- Route 201 will start later on weekdays.
- Swift Orange will have it's last trip moved 10 minutes later to 12:30.
- Route 121 segment from Canyon Park to UW Bothell will run all day on weekdays (currently that segment is peak only).
Frequency changes:
- Swift Blue and routes 101, 119 will see frequency increases during parts of the day on weekdays.
- Swift Blue 15 minute frequency on Saturdays is extended to 8pm.

- Routes 402, 500, and 501 are moving out of the Federal Way Transit Center and into the aforementioned Federal Way Downtown Station bus loop.
- Routes 1 and 3 are getting 14 and 12 new trips, respectively.
- Route 214 is getting two new bus stops.
