The man who opened American ears to global pop music has died

Dan Storper was 74 when he died last week in his adopted city of New Orleans. Arguably, no one in the US has done more to get Americans - as well as many around the globe who discovered Putumayo CD music compilations - listening to songs from around the globe other than Anglo-American pop.
