Powerful states like the US have threatened and imposed sanctions on institutions like the International Criminal Court. The United Nations Security Council has been paralyzed by veto power of its members for more than a decade. Meanwhile, atrocities like the ones in Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan continue unabated.
