A NATO-bombed landmark could soon become Trump Tower Belgrade

For more than a year, student-led protests over government corruption and negligence have shaken Serbia. Protesters often gather in central Belgrade, at the bombed-out former headquarters of the Yugoslav Army. The building, which was struck by NATO in 1999, is regarded by many Serbs as a memorial to the dead. Now, the site is slated for a dramatic transformation under a deal struck between the government and a company owned by Jared Kushner, son-in-law to US President Donald Trump.
