Venezuela bets on mining — can it attract investors?

Venezuela has passed a new mining law to attract foreign investment and revive its struggling economy. But in the country's south, much of the sector is already controlled by armed groups, with widespread illegal mining and environmental damage. As the government promises reform, investors remain cautious - raising questions about whether the industry can be formalized, or whether the same risks that shaped it will continue.
