The Onion’s Exclusive Interview With Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham recently released a polarizing new memoir in which she reflects on her rise to fame, past relationships, and the success of Girls. The Onion sat down with the writer to discuss some of the experiences detailed in Famesick.

The Onion: What's your new book about?
Dunham: I decided to step outside my comfort zone and talk about myself.

What inspired you to write it?
I read this really great memoir called Not That Kind Of Girl, which made me want to release something similar.

Which of the books revelations do you think people will find most shocking?
I had a television show in 2018 called Camping.

What else can you tell us about Adam Driver?
The first time you meet him, he tells you when and how you're going to die.

Are there any parts of your life that didn't make it into your new memoir?
Someday, I'll find the courage to finally speak about the year and a half I spent in ISIL.
