Two sides trade fire overnight and Trump promises more to come, a day after claiming they were close to agreeing a peace deal
Donald Trump has said the US will attack Iran on Wednesday, and accused Tehran's peace negotiators of playing us for suckers", just a day after claiming again that a peace deal was imminent.
The threat came hours after the two sides had traded fire, drawing neighbouring Gulf states back into an on-and-off war that has consumed the region since late February.
