Niagara councillor says public health should help oversee redevelopment of contaminated former GM site

St. Catharines regional Coun. Haley Bateman planned to bring forward a motion to require involvement from public health's environmental division in the environmental assessment, cleanup and redevelopment of a former General Motors property. But Niagara's regional government says the proposal falls outside its jurisdiction.
