Remembering Chilean folk musician Victor Jara
by editors@theworld.org (Marco Werman) from The World: Latest Stories on (#77A1A)
Chilean folk musician Victor Jara was murdered in the first days of former President Augusto Pinochet's regime in 1973. Several army officers were found guilty of the killing and sentenced in 2023. One of them fled but was captured this past weekend, marking the final turn in the pursuit of justice for Jara's death. Hosts Marco Werman and Carolyn Beeler remember Jara and his global impact.
