Continued opposition to privatizing the World Cup

Overnight, Asia's soccer federation joined its European and North American counterparts in opposing FIFA's proposed privatization of the World Cup. So far, FIFA president Gianni Infantino has signaled that he has no intention of dropping the plan. Still, it's very much in doubt now that regional soccer federations making up a clear majority of FIFA's member states are against it.
