More than 1,000 people are missing - the majority of whom are tourists - after a catastrophic flash flood hit Nepal and Tibet, roaring down valleys, wiping out entire villages and leaving a preliminary death toll of 165, authorities said on Thursday.
Rescuers are racing to locate people missing in the mountainous region popular with trekkers and pilgrims, including the hundreds of nationals from India, the US, UK, Australia and Canada.
