Slovakian city named a capital of culture for 2026

Perched beneath one of Central Europe's most imposing medieval castles, the Slovak city of Trenin has spent centuries at the crossroads of European history. Its Roman inscription, carved into the castle rock nearly 1,850 years ago, marks the furthest known advance of a Roman army into Central Europe. It's also one of two 2026 European Capitals of Culture. And the town is going all out. DW's Rob Cameron took part in the festivities.
