Kelvin wave causes a commotion in the Pacific Ocean

A massive, slow-moving swell of water is approaching the West Coast of North America. Known as a "Kelvin wave," the ocean phenomenon tied to the current El Nino is expected to raise the sea level up and down the California coast by a foot. The World learned more from Dillon Amaya, an oceanographer at North Carolina State University, who joined from Raleigh.
