The colour purple has links to royalty, the Catholic church, Prince, Gordon Brown's ties and Barney the dinosaur and it now has a new association - autumn 2026.
It has been deemed fashion's favourite colour having been spotted on autumn/winter catwalks, with Balenciaga, Celine and Valentino showcasing all-purple designs.
