Another possible source for Justice Scalia's vocabulary choices (see "The Argle-Bargle Over This Jiggery-Pokery Is Pure Applesauce" (June 25) might be the House of Commons. Reader Chris C. noticed this example on YouTube:
"Jiggery-pokery" is deployed about 37 seconds in, but I was amused right away because this is one of the many British accents that immediately makes me think of Monty Python.
Okay, they all do.
