Indeed" I work in IT, and my car has a bumper sticker with that phrase on it. Cloud security is messy. Costs can be lower or higher depending. I work for a company that already has a large IT department, has several data centres, and some cloud projects have shown that we don't save money. If we had to put all of the infrastructure in place first then maybe. But moving a non startup to the cloud is not always a good idea.
I don't think I trust WD though, not after the debacle in 2005 where I had to return three drives one after another.
Having run both AMANDA and Bacula locally I don't mind running decent back up software (I also have experience with TSM and Netbackup)
