- An appellate court has ruled that "the danger posed by a plate of sizzling hot food [is] self-evident," thus dooming a New Jersey man's attempt to sue Applebee's for burns suffered while bowing his head to pray over a plate of recently delivered fajitas. Perhaps in that situation one could pray just before the food has actually arrived? I think the Lord would still know which fajitas He was meant to bless.
- Speaking of food, if you search for "nutria recipes," Lowering the Bar shows up on the first page of Google results. This pleases me GREATLY.
- Riddle me this, Fourth Amendment scholars: do police have probable cause to open and search a container that is clearly labeled "Not Weed"? What if the car had a bumper sticker saying "Nothing to See Here," and I was wearing a t-shirt reading "I AM NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG"? I don't know how much more clear I could make it.
- Here the headline is "Ottawa thief throws eye at lawyer," but I think the real story is that the lawyer caught it on the first bounce.
- I tweeted this on Sunday and it was fairly popular so I wish to say it again: "Let me see if I understand-you're not that bothered by torture, but are horrified by the practice of keeping email on the wrong server."
- Just to be clear, my point there is not to minimize the practice of keeping email on the wrong server. It is a different point.
- The tireless heroes of the TSA continue to enforce the impenetrable security screen they have erected around our nation's air travelers, unless somebody pays them to get through it, like this meth smuggler did. No, he wasn't a member of PreCheck. This was bribery, not extortion.
