A defiant Jodi McKay has dug in as leader of the NSW Labor opposition despite its poor result in the Upper Hunter byelection on the weekend, arguing she remains the party's best hope for rejuvenation.
Disunity in the party is escalating, however, with the shadow treasurer, Walt Secord, resigning over an allegation the deputy leader's office was behind a dossier about McKay's leadership rival Chris Minns.
