China recently eased Covid travel restrictions for foreign visitors to Tibet in an effort to boost tourism. Beijing is aiming for 61 million visitors a year by 2025, more than 15 times the number of Tibet's inhabitants. Foreign journalists, normally not permitted to travel to the autonomous region, were also taken on a visit organised by the government
