The French government has heavily criticised opposition MPs after a parliamentary debate on the proposed introduction of a vaccine pass" was unexpectedly suspended after members of the Assemblee nationale voted with a show of hands to go home.

The move came after seven hours of often-heated exchanges on Monday, when ministers clashed with critics over the controversial measure due to be introduced on 15 January, but now postponed.
