Neighbourhood Stoney Creek
Features Located in Stoney Creek near Gray Road, this is one of about a dozen detached homes on the market between Barton Street and Highway 8.
On the market for almost 220 days, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence holds the distinction of being the longest-listed local property on Realtor.ca.
This two-storey, 2,300-square-foot Celtic Drive home features a separate entrance to a finished basement. The top floor has a great family room" and three bedrooms, while the other two bedrooms are in a basement that's not quite a secondary suite, Royal LePage agent Anthony Khanh Nguyen says.
The home is minutes away from the Red Hill Valley Parkway and the QEW and about a 20-minute walk from Mohawk College's Stoney Creek campus, making it an ideal spot for commuters or students.
Also nearby is New Castle Centre plaza with restaurants, shopping and a pharmacy a short walk away.
The home is move-in ready, with major appliances and central air. As well, the property features an attached garage and a new roof.
With a dine-in kitchen, living room and dining room on the first floor, a deck and seating area out back and a living area in the basement, the house has plenty of shared space.
Why is it priced this way? Khanh Nguyen noted the real estate market was different when the house was first listed in November 2021, and said the asking price has contributed to the home's lengthy listing.
While he has suggested the owners consider lowering the figure, he also said there has been interest.
