NSW government overfunding private schools by $850m, report suggests

Teachers federation-commissioned report says 28 schools overfunded by more than $1m each and public schools underfunded $2bn a year

The New South Wales government is overfunding well-off private schools by hundreds of millions of dollars while underfunding the state's public schools by billions a year, according to a new report.

The report, commissioned by the NSW Teachers Federation, estimates the government will overfund private schools by around $850m between 2019 and 2023.
