Strong winds expected to blow through Hamilton
Batten down the hatches Hamilton, it's about to get wet and windy.
A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada says potentially damaging southerly winds are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon in Hamilton and all of southern Ontario.
Winds gusting to 90 km/h are expected.
The weather agency says the gusty winds could be strong enough to toss loose objects and down tree branches, possibly resulting in power outages.
Strong winds and a 60 per cent chance of showers are expected Wednesday morning and into the afternoon as a cold front moves into the area, bringing with it a risk of thunderstorm overnight.
The damaging winds are expect to end overnight into Thursday.
More rain and thunderstorms are expected Thursday morning with additional rainfall amounts from 5 to 10 mm.
