Former chancellor is leading the race after Boris Johnson's withdrawal from contention
Two candidates are now left in the Conservative leadership race after Boris Johnson's announcement that he is not running. The former chancellor Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt, the current leader of the House of Commons, both need at least 100 signatures to make it to the first round of voting on Monday.
As of 8am on Monday, Sunak was leading the race, having received 163 public nominations to Mordaunt's 26.
