British government officials have told a group of foreign reporters that there are no plans to move the British embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a statement welcomed by the Palestinian mission in the UK.
The statement appears to put an end to a review ordered by Liz Truss as prime minister into whether the UK should follow Donald Trump's lead and transfer its embassy to Jerusalem, a move that would be seen by its critics as pre-empting the status of the city in any future negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians.
