A jury has been unable to reach a verdict in the trial of a New South Wales prison officer accused of murdering a shackled Indigenous inmate who was shot 11 seconds into an attempted escape.
Officer A, as he's known for legal reasons, had pleaded not guilty to murdering Dwayne Johnstone outside Lismore Base hospital on 15 March 2019.
