Pesutto will now seek to rebuild Coalition fortunes after three straight election losses to Daniel Andrews' Labor government

John Pesutto will lead the Victorian Liberal party after defeating Brad Battin in a leadership ballot.

Pesutto, a moderate and former shadow attorney general, narrowly reclaimed the inner-east seat of Hawthorn in November's state election, after losing it in an upset on live television in 2018.
