Voice to parliament: Monarchist League blasts no campaign’s push for symbolic recognition as a ‘furphy’

Group says it will take no official position on referendum but strongly opposes Warren Mundine's preamble proposal

Australia's largest monarchist group is the latest to attack the campaign strategy of opponents of the Indigenous voice to parliament, calling their proposal for constitutional recognition of migrants a furphy" to distract from the upcoming referendum.

It comes as the Nationals leader, David Littleproud, says his party won't formally give support to the no campaign, stating a desire to stay fiercely independent" of that group despite opposing the voice.
