Link service returns to normal today
Last night, Sound Transit reported that Link service will finally be restored to regular service starting tomorrow today, May 8th:
Tomorrow's Link commute just got a whole lot easier. It's back to regular service tomorrow-no more transfers at Pioneer Square. Trains running every 10 minutes at peak instead of 8 minutes tomorrow only. Tuesday we'll be fully back to normal. Thanks for all your patience!

CEO Julie Timm had actually broke the news on Saturday, revealing that there was a push to restore service as early as that evening, but with the caveat of further disruptions down the road. Fortunately, Sound Transit found a way to add scaffolding above the ceiling, which will allow completion of repairs while still getting back to regular service on Tuesday today.
We pushed hard today to develop a plan to open the service back up today/tonight, and we were almost successful. It would still have meant we would need to shut back down for a bit in a few weeks or months AND possible service restrictions during that period, but still... 1/ pic.twitter.com/xGfu0Wet5p
