Government inquiry into Optus outage to examine roaming and triple zero impacts, but not cause of shutdown

Labor releases terms of reference for review into incident which will report back by the end of February 2024

A government-ordered probe of Optus' 14-hour nationwide outage will examine its impact on the triple zero system and whether rival telcos can offer access to their services during network shutdowns.

However, the cause of the 8 November outage and the adequacy of the company's compensation to millions of affected customers will not be examined.
