Peruvian lawmakers pass bill restricting NGOs

Civil society groups in Peru are warning a new anti-NGO law in Peru could infringe on human rights in the country. The law, passed yesterday by the Peruvian Congress, bans NGOs from providing legal support of any kind to lawsuits against the state, including legal claims of human rights abuses. Supporters say it's targeting financial problems with NGOs, with oversight and transparency.
