Chief rabbi of Ukraine

Rabbi Moshe Azman is one of the chief rabbis of Ukraine. In the early days of the full-scale invasion, like President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Azman stayed in Kyiv. This decision has had a major impact on the Jewish community in Ukraine - it was seen as a courageous act of resilience. Since then, Azman has become an even more popular figure in Ukraine, because of his multifaith outreach efforts and his engagement with important figures in Ukraine government and security establishment.
