Carlos Hernandez, a Honduran school teacher, and Kurt Ver Beek, an American sociologist, moved with their families to one of the toughest neighborhoods in Tegucigalpa. When the two decided to take on the barrio's violent street gangs, the men found themselves wading into ethical dilemmas.
