World leaders and diplomats from roughly 120 countries are in Germany today for the Munich Security Conference, where strained transatlantic ties have taken center stage. Opening the event, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned that the familiar international order no longer exists." NATO's strength, he said, depends on trust among allies, and no country, not even the US, can go it alone.
