Reading the phone book to learn English

Shortly after moving to the United States from the Dominican Republic, Claritza Abreu struggled to find work before finally landing a job as an administrative assistant. But she soon realized she was in over her head; taking phone calls meant understanding people saying their names and numbers quickly and being able to write it all down. She wasn't keeping up.
