Saving the red colobus monkey

In 1993, a new species was discovered in the swampy forests of Africa: the Niger Delta red colobus monkey. Within 20 years, most of the monkeys had been wiped out by hunting and habitat loss. The dire situation prompted one researcher to launch a community-led program to save the primates. Carolyn Beeler explains what happened.
