Norwegian royalty may prevail despite death and scandals

Much of Norway came to a standstill last week as King Harald V was laid to rest after an elaborate state funeral attended by European royalty, global heads of state, and other leaders. To borrow a phrase from another late monarch, it truly has been an annus horribilis" or terrible year for the Norwegian crown. And yet, despite scandals that have dogged their family, a new King and Queen - Haakon VIII and Mette-Marit - are now in charge at the palace. And, if Lars Bevanger's instincts in Oslo are correct, they are likely to stay there.
