A tiny computer that makes it possible to turn an idea into reality, without taking up much spaceIf you're in the market for a new side project, then you might want to check out the Raspberry Pi. This is a little computer available in a few different sizes, but the primary board comes in the size of a credit card. On the PCB, you'll find a bunch of little transistors along with a few different connection ports, and soldered right in the middle is the brains of the operation. But instead of coming pre-installed with Windows or macOS, you have the ability to choose what Linux-based operating system you want to use.If you have an idea for some home automation, the chances are that the Raspberry Pi can provide the brains and brawn for the operation. Maybe you want to create a portable retro console; Raspberry Pi can do that, too. Or maybe you just want to learn how to code and use a command line. Well, the Pi can do that. The possibilities are truly endless for what can be accomplish...

MIUI 12.5 doesn't introduce groundbreaking features — it instead fixes long-standing issues. While Xiaomi now makes some of the best Android phones, it started out with MIUI, offering a software interface with a design inspired by iOS but with several unique additions, including a robust theming engine and useful pre-installed apps. The first time I used MIUI was on a Nexus 4 all the way back in 2013; MIUI 5 was very different to the default Jelly Bean interface, offering an astounding level of customization (for the time), permission management, live icons, a music player that was better than what you'd get on most phones, and robust security features.Of course, Xiaomi was already making phones by this point, but they were limited to its home market. MIUI allowed Xiaomi to gauge interest in its software interface outside of China, and the brand amassed a decent userbase in a short amount of time, paving the way for an entry into the Indian market, where it debuted its first pho...

Best answer: You should only buy a Wi-Fi 6E router if you already have devices that can use Wi-FI 6E. While Wi-Fi 6E offers a great upgrade to Wi-Fi 6 performance, the increase in speed isn't significant enough to justify the high price for most people. What is Wi-Fi 6E, and how is it different from Wi-Fi 6?For years, Wi-Fi has used channels at 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz, with 5.8 GHz adding a bit more capacity a while later. If you don't have a lot of close neighbors, these channels probably offer more than enough speed even when your connection is pushed beyond gigabit speed. For those of us that live in a dense area, we're starting to hit the limits. If you check out all of the connections in your area, you start to understand the congestion your router needs to navigate. A Wi-Fi analyzer app can help you see overlapping Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi 6 has been able to do more with this space thanks to tech like a more advanced QAM setup, but it still has to share the same chunks of spectrum. Wi-Fi 6...

One of the best storage expansion options for PlayStation 5.Solid-state drives (SSDs) have been a staple in the PC gaming space for years now, but consoles have been well behind the trend since their inception. It's only now in the ninth generation that systems from Xbox and PlayStation are seeing SSDs built-in, favoring those higher speeds as opposed to the inferior speeds of comparably stone-aged HDDs. This all means bigger and better games for players, but most importantly — faster games. Load times on new-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X have been reduced to a handful of seconds, and in some cases they are almost instantaneous.Much to people's confusion, Sony shipped the PS5 with an 825TB (the Xbox Series X features a 1TB SSD), of which only 667GB is usable. That's not ideal for anyone, especially when games are frequently 50GB or larger. Because the PS5 didn't launch with storage expansion for PS5 games, players needed to delete and redownload their games if the...

Galaxy Z Fold 3 features great hardware with meh software and could be a better user experience.Foldable phones are still relatively new in the grand scheme of smartphones. But that doesn't mean that some of these products aren't impressive. For example, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 isn't a significant improvement over the second generation Galaxy Z Fold 2, the fine-tuning that Samsung has done with the device is very much welcomed. However, the bulk of that tweaking Samsung did with the Z Fold 3 was mainly on the hardware side of things. The software and UI are very much the same as the prior version — and that's unfortunate because it's still kind of a mess.Yes, Samsung did add a couple of new features and expand on a few others as well. But, when fellow freelancer Andrew Myrick put together his first 12 things to do with your new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, it further solidified the complicated feelings I had when using my own Z Fold 3. Put simply — if you want to get th...

Good tech has become cheaper and cheap tech has become better. It seems like it is almost impossible to buy a bad piece of tech nowadays, be it Android phones, wireless earbuds, smartwatches, or anything else. So top players in the game try to offer as much as possible in one package and then sell that for as little as possible. This has resulted in the existence of some spectacular budget wireless earbuds at astonishingly low prices.Tronsmart is one of the many companies that focus on creating highly competitive value products. I personally love the company's affordable line of audio devices such as the Apollo Air+ true wireless earbuds and the 30W Studio Bluetooth Speaker. They embody the phrase "bang for the buck" through and through.Priced at a reasonable $50, the Tronsmart Onyx Apex earbuds are the equivalent of an entry-level pair of buds. That's not much, but I still went into this review with moderately high expectations. Here's what I found out after using the Tronsmart...
