Kepler keeps on finding planets far beyond expectations

Kepler has now discovered more than 100 confirmed alien planets during its second-chance K2 mission after a serious malfunction ended its original mission a few years ago. Kepler was launched in 2009 to search for earth type planets in the Milky Way. In this task it has been highly successful with the current count of alien worlds discovered passing 100.
