UK disposable vapes ban very likely to become law after lack of objections

Tory MPs will get free vote on plan to ban vapes and phase out smoking but only Liz Truss has publicly denounced measures

Plans to ban disposable vapes and gradually phase out smoking to people of all ages in the UK appear very likely to pass into law with minimal fuss after only a handful of Conservative MPs publicly objected to the idea.

Both measures will be voted on in parliament, Downing Street confirmed, with Conservative MPs given a non-whipped free vote. Rishi Sunak's spokesperson said this would be because it was considered a matter of conscience.
