Plans to ban disposable vapes and gradually phase out smoking to people of all ages in the UK appear very likely to pass into law with minimal fuss after only a handful of Conservative MPs publicly objected to the idea.
Both measures will be voted on in parliament, Downing Street confirmed, with Conservative MPs given a non-whipped free vote. Rishi Sunak's spokesperson said this would be because it was considered a matter of conscience.
