First, I find Kubuntu buggy and bloated. The same goes for Gnome and it's GVFS crap and other bits.

Bodhi ran great on the slow system I tested it on.

The only failure IMO which kept me from using Bodhi was the lack of stunning and bug free themes. As is the case with several window managers, a lot or all of the pre-installed themes suck and suck hard. There were a few minor bugs with Bodhi which also steered me away.

All a person really needs to do is to install Debian minimal and build up from there.

TLDR; another promising, unique and lightweight distro falls.

Not necessarily. I suspect it'll be the same as with cars. As some cars begin to support more and more automation, they'll need to still monitor surrounding spaces for manually operated vehicles (not to mention pedestrians, cyclists, animals, etc), and take appropriate action to avoid collisions. Airborne drones shouldn't be any different, but in the interest of safety and progress, maybe instead of doing nothing, you buy an inexpensive "broadcast beacon" that can let automated drones know there's a manually operated vehicle in the area, so give a wide berth if possible.

That's really two questions: (1) why is e17 more interesting/better than KDE as a desktop, and (2) why is it better to install Bodhi, which is an e17-focused distro than simply installing e17 on another distro?

With regard to the first question: different people like different desktops, so that's a tough question to take a position on without starting a flamewar. I find that e17 does everything KDE4 does but more prettily and by using fewer resources. It took a little while to figure out how e17 organizes its functionality (there are modules and shelves and gadgets and it's all slightly different). But once I figured it out, I liked it better.

As for the second question, the fact that Bodhi people spend all their time making e17 work well on Bodhi means that more care and attention have gone into the integration. E17 is available on opensuse, for example, but when I installed it I found it was not as well packaged, required a lot more effort to make useable, and in general wasn't as easy to use. That's no surprise - the opensuse people spend most of their time focusing on KDE4 and Gnome3, and e17 is of secondary importance to them.

Now I am wondering how this compares to the Pebble. From CNET:

The Good: The Pebble Watch is waterproof, runs a ton of apps, and works with both iOS and Android phones. A new app store improves the whole experience.
The Bad: A lack of touch screen and multitasking limits the capability of apps; scratch-prone polycarbonate design doesn't feel nearly as impressive as the Pebble Steel.
The Bottom Line: With a major software update and new app store, the original Pebble gets a new lease on life -- a less stylish but arguably better value than the newer Steel.

Some info on the apple watch:
  • The Apple Watch is a music player like an iPod
  • has a fitness tracker with heart-rate measurements
  • can send and receive messages, calls and audio recordings
  • It's meant to stay paired and connected while you wear it for most features, but it also does some things while disconnected, too.
  • supports Apple Pay
  • has heart-rate tracking technology
  • will only work with iPhone
  • Storage: unknown

The question makes no sense. The question you should be asking is "is there any reason to prefer btrfs", and the answer is, at this time, no. ZFS is not "getting there", it is THERE. Has been for a while. Super stable. btrfs is still very much in development. A very slow development.

If you really, really, really must insist on the question as framed, here are some reasons:
* I do not believe btrfs has as yet any counterpart to raidz, raidz2, or raidz3
* snapshots are handled in a very clumsy manner in btrfs, and very succinctly in ZFS
* ZFS has no fsck because by design it doesn't need one. btrfs needs fsck and has only a limited version as yet.
* ZFS filesets are much more versatile than btrfs subvolumes.
* Creation and destruction of ZFS filesets is essentially instantaneous. As I remember it, btrfs like ext2/3/4, etc, is emphatically not.
* Many, many more reasons.
