Somehow, someway, we went 2-1 on our NFL best bets in a week derailed by COVID-19 outbreaks, postponements, and unpredictable line movement. Can we sweep the board in a more "normal" Week 16?Buccaneers (-10, 43) @ Panthers, 1 p.m. ETAt full strength, the Buccaneers are the league's best team and deserve to be laying double digits on the road. This roster is far from healthy, though, and it's hard to justify this much faith in a group we haven't seen succeed.Tampa Bay's 9-0 loss to the Saints last week also cost the team its top two receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin - one for this game, one for the season - and its top rusher in Leonard Fournette. The Bucs also placed Lavonte David on injured reserve and will likely be without safety Antoine Winfield and edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul on Sunday. That's a lot of firepower to be missing against a Panthers team that, while inconsistent, still owns the second-best defense by yards allowed (294.4). If Sam Darnold's return from IR can give any sort of boost to Carolina's lackadaisical offense, this one will be closer than the teams' records would suggest.Pick: Panthers +10Ravens @ Bengals (-3, 45), 1 p.m.This is a crucial game for the Ravens, who are essentially in must-win mode to keep their playoff hopes alive. This is also a terrible spot for them to actually win.As of Thursday, Baltimore had placed 17 players on the COVID-19 reserve list, including nearly its entire secondary and outside linebacking corps. That's back-breaking news for a team that's already been ravaged by injuries to its defensive backfield and is still waiting to see if former MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson can suit up Sunday.Even when (mostly) healthy, the Ravens have lost three straight games and five of their last eight dating back to a 41-17 beatdown by the Bengals in Week 7. Oddsmakers pricing these teams as near-equals is a sign of respect for the Ravens' tenure atop the AFC North, but it doesn't reflect what we'll see Sunday.Pick: Bengals -3Steelers @ Chiefs (-10, 46), 4:25 p.m.This total hinges entirely on whether the Chiefs can activate Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce from the COVID-19 reserve list before Sunday's kickoff. If they aren't available, it's hard to see where the points will come from on either side. Those two star pass-catchers combined for 339 yards and three touchdowns a week ago and have accounted for more than half of the Chiefs' receiving yards (54.1%) and touchdowns (53.3%) across the entire season. Losing those two would leave Patrick Mahomes with the likes of Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle, and Josh Gordon as his top weapons Sunday. Yikes.Conversely, the Steelers have scored 20 or fewer points in three of their last four games and haven't faced a defense as stout as Kansas City's at any point in that stretch. The first team to 21 points should be the victor here.Pick: Under 46C Jackson Cowart is a sports betting writer at theScore. New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton returned to the team Friday after a stint in COVID-19 protocols, Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune reports.Payton's clearance to resume coaching duties comes ahead of a Monday night contest against the Miami Dolphins. He missed last week's 9-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as defensive coordinator Dennis Allen filled in as acting head coach. The Saints are in the midst of the NFC's wild-card race after winning two games in a row. At 7-7, New Orleans is tied with the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles, though the Vikings hold the seventh seed due to tiebreakers.Payton's club will need to hold off the red-hot Dolphins to keep pace. Miami has won six consecutive games after starting the year 1-7.Rookie quarterback Ian Book is reportedly expected to start Monday's prime-time bout after Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian landed on the COVID-19 list. New Orleans is also apparently expected to sign Blake Bortles, who'd serve as Book's backup.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Friday it's "highly unlikely" quarterback Jared Goff will play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. The Lions placed Goff on the COVID-19 reserve list Monday after he tested positive following their 30-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The 27-year-old has completed 67% of his passes while tossing for 3,007 yards and 17 touchdowns against eight interceptions through 13 games this season.Tim Boyle is in line to replace Goff versus Atlanta. Boyle passed for only 77 yards with no touchdowns and two picks in his first career start in Week 11 while stepping up for an injured Goff.Detroit's quarterback depth chart also features David Blough, who started five games for the Lions in 2019 but has yet to attempt a pass in 2021.The Lions also ruled out starting cornerback Amani Oruwariye for Week 16 due to a thumb injury.Oruwariye has broken out in his third NFL season, racking up six interceptions and 11 pass breakups through 14 games.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The New York Giants plan to start quarterback Jake Fromm over Mike Glennon against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, sources told Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post.Fromm will be New York's third different starting signal-caller this season. The Giants began the 2021 campaign with Daniel Jones but turned to Glennon in Week 13 after Jones suffered a season-ending neck injury.Head coach Joe Judge's decision to turn to Fromm was expected this week after Glennon struggled in three starts this year. Glennon went 0-3 while completing just 50.9% of his passes with two touchdowns against five interceptions.Fromm, who attempted 12 throws in last week's blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys, joined the Giants in November after starting the season on the Buffalo Bills' practice squad. Buffalo drafted the 23-year-old in the fifth round last year. The 4-10 Giants, losers of three straight, have averaged just 17 points per game in 2021.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans won't play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Bruce Arians announced Friday, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Joey Knight.A hamstring injury forced Evans out of last week's loss to the New Orleans Saints, and he finished the contest with just one catch for 14 yards. The 28-year-old leads Tampa Bay with 11 touchdown catches through 14 appearances this season to go along with 899 yards and 64 receptions. The Bucs have suffered key losses on offense due to injuries lately, including running back Leonard Fournette and wide receiver Chris Godwin - Tom Brady's favorite target this year. With Evans and Godwin out, Brady will likely increase his targets to tight end Rob Gronkowski and wideout Antonio Brown, who the team expects to be available versus Carolina after serving a three-game suspension."Tom's Tom," Arians said Friday about his offensive unit for Week 16. "He's going to find the guys and get the right guys. The guys worked hard this week, so he's got a lot of confidence in all of them."Arians also ruled out safety Antoine Winfield Jr., who's dealing with a foot injury.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Tennessee Titans got back to their winning ways with a Thursday night victory over the San Francisco 49ers, much to the delight of head coach Mike Vrabel. After enduring a midseason slump, Vrabel praised his team's response to adversity after Randy Bullock's game-winning field goal pushed the Titans past the 49ers."You've got to be willing to take some shots and willing to bleed and be able to taste it and come back swinging," Vrabel said, according to team reporter Jim Wyatt. "And that's why it's an honor to coach this football team. The guys care, do whatever they can do. It's not always perfect. They took care of the football, complementary football."I mean … we had the funeral for the Titans. You know, it was yesterday or today. But we're not dead yet," Vrabel noted. "We'll come back, and we'll play the Dolphins next, right? That's who we got in 10 days. This weekend is going to feel really good. I'm happy our players can rest and recover after getting a victory."Tennessee jumped out to an 8-2 mark this season but dropped three of its last four coming into the Thursday night contest. Injuries also impacted the club, with Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown, and Julio Jones all missing time. Henry is the only one who remains sidelined.Thursday night's win put the Titans at 10-5 and within striking distance of clinching the AFC South. The Dallas Cowboys enter Week 16 with a 10-4 record and tied for the NFC's No. 2 seed, but wide receiver Amari Cooper believes the Cowboys' offense has room for improvement.Cooper admitted during his weekly radio segment on 103.5 The Fan that it bothers him that the offense hasn't been holding its weight during Dallas' three-game winning streak."Yeah, we're winning, but the defense is playing a huge part in that. We're not really as explosive as we should be," the four-time Pro Bowler said. The defense has done its part, forcing 12 turnovers over the past three contests.Dallas averaged 34.2 points and 460.8 yards per game prior to quarterback Dak Prescott's calf injury. Since his return in Week 9, the club has averaged 25.1 points and 351.7 yards. The Cowboys have struggled to cross the goal line of late, converting just six red-zone trips for touchdowns over their last five outings. The Tennessee Titans activated wide receiver A.J. Brown from injured reserve, making him available to play against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football, the team announced.Brown hasn't played since Week 11 due to a chest injury.Despite missing four games, the 24-year-old leads Tennessee in targets (78), catches (46), receiving yards (615), and touchdown receptions (three).Brown's return is a major boost to an offense that has struggled in recent games. The Titans are 1-3 in their last four contests and didn't score more than 20 points in any of those matchups.Tennessee welcomed back wide receiver Julio Jones in last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Jones saw only one target before leaving the game with a hamstring injury. Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has a 50% chance to play in Saturday's game against the Green Bay Packers, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Thursday, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter.Garrett, who the team listed as questionable, suffered a groin injury in Monday's defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders but was able to finish the game. After the Week 15 loss, the star pass-rusher said he'll do all he can to finish out the season."It was tough, it hurt, but everybody's hurtin'," Garrett said, according to NFL.com's Grant Gordon."I don't want to say I'm special. Everybody's fighting through something. You're gonna have to kill me to take me off the field, or you gonna have to break my leg. You're gonna have to take me completely out because I'm gonna go out there until I can't."The Browns fell to the bottom of the AFC North with the loss to the Raiders, and they will be on the brink of playoff elimination if they lose on Christmas Day.Garrett, who was named to his third Pro Bowl on Wednesday, is one of the leading Defensive Player of the Year candidates. Whether you watched the games or just took a spin through the box scores, you're probably wondering how neither the Chargers, Bears, or Seahawks won in Week 15. Such is the NFL in 2021 where you're at the mercy of officiating crews, fumble luck, and analytical variance. The best we can do is pinpoint value and hope the ball bounces our way.How it worksWe parlay five underdogs together in 10 different three-team parlays. Using every combination of a three-team parlay is called a round robin, so we're going to use a total of 1.1 units to make 11 different bets: 10 three-team parlays and one five-team parlay, each for .1 units. If three teams pull off the upset like in Week 8, Week 10, and Week 11, you'll likely double your money. If four teams win, as they did in Week 3, you're connecting on four separate parlays and will be very pleased with the return. If all five teams win, as they did in Week 1, then it's back into the pool, swimming in gold doubloons like heirs to the McDuck fortune.Who to playTitans +150The Titans appear to have their full complement of outside weaponry, and even though they'd welcome back Derrick Henry in a heartbeat, the run game has not been the issue for the offense. D'Onta Foreman, Dontrell Hilliard, and Jeremy McNichols have filled the void, averaging 191 yards per game since aborting the Adrian Peterson experiment.Turnovers have been the crux of Titan problems as they have 13 giveaways in their last four games. Tennessee had just 12 turnovers in their previous 10 games. The 49ers have six takeaways in their last three but before that, they were averaging just one per game.Look for the Titans to be able to move the ball while defensively getting pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo. Tennessee gets a big home win.Panthers +350While it was a troublesome matchup for Tampa Bay even before Tom Brady's top options went out of the game last Sunday night, the Bucs' offense doesn't strike the same fear in opponents. The Panthers can generate pressure and make life miserable for Brady for a second straight week.Scoring will be more of a struggle for the Panthers, but things do get easier with Lavonte David also being unavailable, along with the usual assortment of defensive backs that funnel in and out of the Bucs' secondary. While I don't expect the Panthers to win, a Tampa loss is by no means a disaster to their standing. At +350 we'll add Carolina to the mix and see how well the Bucs adapt on the road, where they've struggled consistently this season even with available stars.Vikings +130I don't know why we're getting this good of a price with the Vikings at home.Adam Thielen may be back, and that would take some of the pressure off of the Kirk Cousins to Justin Jefferson connection. The difference-maker will be Dalvin Cook and a Vikings defense that has historically had success against Matthew Stafford during his time with the Lions (8-13).Bears +230During the last three weeks of the NFL season, there's an opportunity to back an underdog anytime we can pinpoint two teams with nothing to play for. I wrote about the Bears in the upset of the week, as Justin Fields has provided a spark to the Chicago offense that is lacking in Seattle.Dolphins +140A Monday nighter in New Orleans used to be feared, but the Saints haven't shown anything at home in prime time this season. The Dolphins are the better football team, but we're getting a good price on them because the Saints beat the Buccaneers last week. If it weren't for the shutout win, this game would be closer to a pick'em. The Saints scored just nine points themselves, so I'm willing to fade them off of that victory. The Dolphins keep winning games against inferior competition, which might just be the case again on Monday. Here are how the odds look this week:PARLAYODDS (Approx.)TEN+MIN+CAR+2600TEN+MIN+CHI+1900TEN+MIN+MIA+1300TEN+CAR+CHI+3600TEN+CAR+MIA+2600TEN+CHI+MIA+1900MIN+CAR+CHI+3500MIN+CAR+MIA+2500MIN+CHI+MIA+1800CAR+CHI+MIA+3500TEN+MIN+CAR+CHI+MIA+21000Who are your five underdogs for a football betting lottery ticket?Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. Like tearing open a present from under the tree, when it comes to our weekly Thursday Night Football prop bets, you never know what you're going to get. But the vast majority of time, you like it. Last week it was a surprise Justin Herbert touchdown (+550), adding +3.5 units to the +13 we were already up.It's the night before the night before Christmas in the NFL. With good tidings for the holiday season, let's get festive."Jingle All The Way" down the fieldIf you think we're simply having a most wonderful Christmas time here, the Sunday player props have been rollicking, as we've rode George Kittle over his yardage total the last few weeks. He's cleared this mark easily and there's no reason to believe he is in for a "Silent Night" in Nashville. The Titans have given up the fifth-fewest yards to opposing tight ends but, outside of Travis Kelce (7 receptions, 65 yards), they haven't seen one near the level of Kittle, who will be dashing through the secondary.Pick: George Kittle over 67.5 receiving yardsA TD that's definitely going to happenIt won't be a "White Christmas" in Tennessee, but if there's anyone capable of taking tacklers for a virtual "Sleigh Ride," it's Deebo Samuel. However, at -110, backing the star is pricey. So we'll take a risk with Music City's main man on the outside and the return of A.J. Brown. The uncertainty around backing Brown off an injury is getting us a decent price. So let's hope this ends up being a nice find like the modest winning scratch-off ticket in our stocking.Pick: A.J. Brown anytime touchdown (+165)A TD that probably won't happen ... but maybe it doesRacey McMath sounds like an alias I'd use on a pro-analytics message board, but the sixth-rounder out of LSU has seen an increase in snaps since returning from his own injury two weeks ago. If Brown and/or Julio Jones can't make their full workload, McMath might find himself on the field for more than the 22 snaps he played on Sunday. If the two big names are playing, they'll see their fair share of attention from the 49ers' secondary, and McMath might make it a "Holly Jolly Christmas" for us all.Pick: Racey McMath anytime touchdown (+700)Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. The NFL announced its 2022 Pro Bowl rosters Wednesday, and the lists didn't please everyone.Several players who are having exceptional seasons weren't invited to the event. Here are the 10 biggest snubs:Matthew Stafford, QB, RamsWe already knew Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers would earn Pro Bowl nods in the NFC. But the third quarterback spot in the conference was up for grabs, and it's fair to say Stafford deserved it. Here's why:RecordYds per gameTD passesRate QBRTD runsPlayer A10-4295.935108.265.70Player B8-3276.320102.356.25Player A is Stafford, who ranks second in the NFC in passing touchdowns, passer rating, and Total QBR. Player B is Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who made the Pro Bowl for the second time this year despite missing three games.Roquan Smith, LB, Bears Icon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyAkiem Hicks' reaction to Smith not making the Pro Bowl sums up everything you need to know here. Smith, who was also snubbed last season, is among the NFC's best linebackers in 2021, ranking fourth in tackles, fifth in sacks, and fourth in passer rating allowed. Granted, he hasn't excelled against the run, but there aren't many inside linebackers better than him.Leonard Fournette, RB, BuccaneersNo one should be questioning Dalvin Cook's and James Conner's selections to the 2022 Pro Bowl, but there should definitely be a debate about why New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara made the cut over Fournette.Kamara may be more valuable to New Orleans than Fournette is to Tampa Bay, but that doesn't mean he's having a better season. It's quite the opposite, actually. Fournette tops Kamara in rushing yards (812-668), yards per carry (4.5-3.6), receiving yards (454-348), and scrimmage touchdowns (10-8) in 2021.Josh Allen, QB, Bills Brett Carlsen / Getty Images Sport / GettyIt may not have been a surprise to see Lamar Jackson on the AFC roster, given his stellar track record. However, he's missed two games due to injury and hasn't thrown more touchdowns than interceptions in a game since Week 9. Oh, and the Baltimore Ravens' star hasn't scored on the ground since Week 2.A handful of quarterbacks arguably deserved a Pro Bowl nod over Jackson, and Allen might be at the top of that list. The Buffalo Bills' signal-caller isn't having a flawless campaign, but he's thrown almost twice as many touchdowns as Jackson, and he holds the edge in essentially every major passing category.A.J. Terrell, CB, FalconsWe often see players earning All-Pro honors despite somehow being left out of the Pro Bowl, and that might happen with Terrell this season. The second-year corner has allowed a ridiculous 60.8 passer rating when targeted, and he's currently the NFL's highest-graded cornerback, according to PFF.Austin Ekeler, RB, Chargers Harry How / Getty Images Sport / GettyIf someone had told you before the season that a running back with 1,347 scrimmage yards, 4.6 yards per carry, and 17 touchdowns through 14 games wouldn't be selected to the Pro Bowl, you wouldn't have believed it, would you? Well, that's what happened to Ekeler.Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon, one of three rushers on the AFC Pro Bowl roster, is indeed having a heck of a season and has more rushing yards than Ekeler. But when you factor in Ekeler's contributions in the passing game (62 receptions, 558 yards, seven touchdowns), it's clear his impact has been on another level.Jeffery Simmons, DT, TitansSimmons put the NFL on notice after recording three sacks against the Rams in a prime-time game in Week 9. He's since been one of the league's most dominant interior defensive linemen, and his 7.5 sacks on the season rank first at the position in the AFC. However, those numbers still weren't enough to give him a spot in the Pro Bowl among three defensive tackles.Kene Nwangwu, KR, Vikings NurPhoto / NurPhoto / GettyKick returners often go unnoticed in the Pro Bowl, but it's not hard to understand why Nwangwu deserved to be on the NFC roster over Chicago Bears' Jakeem Grant. Nwangwu has recorded significantly fewer return attempts than Grant, but the Vikings' playmaker has arguably been the most electric returner in football this season. He leads the NFL with two kick return touchdowns while averaging 37.2 yards per return.Cordarrelle Patterson, RB/WR, FalconsWe already knew how good Patterson is at returning kicks, but he's shown us he can also hurt opponents in all phases of the offensive game since becoming a full-time running back. The nine-year veteran has racked up over 500 yards receiving and 500 yards rushing in 2021, and his 1,430 all-purpose yards rank fifth in the NFL. Patterson also found the end zone 10 times in 13 games.Creed Humphrey, C, Chiefs Sean M. Haffey / Getty Images Sport / GettyIt's tough for a rookie offensive lineman to get national recognition, but don't be surprised if Humphrey becomes a perennial Pro Bowler moving forward in his NFL career. The second-rounder has allowed only one sack and one QB hit this year, and he's currently the NFL's best center regardless of his inexperience as a pro, according to PFF.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and Green Bay Packers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers headline the 2022 Pro Bowl rosters, unveiled Wednesday by the NFL.The Indianapolis Colts, led by star running back Jonathan Taylor, had a league-high seven players selected to the group. The New York Giants, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Detroit Lions were the only teams without a Pro Bowler this season. The Pro Bowl takes place Sunday, Feb. 6, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas after the event was virtual in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.* denotes starterAFC - Offense POSITIONPLAYERTEAMQBJustin Herbert*ChargersQBPatrick MahomesChiefsQBLamar JacksonRavensRBJonathan Taylor*ColtsRBNick ChubbBrownsRBJoe MixonBengalsFBPatrick RicardRavensWRTyreek Hill*ChiefsWRJa'Marr Chase*BengalsWRStefon DiggsBillsWRKeenan AllenChargersTEMark Andrews*RavensTETravis KelceChiefsOTRashawn Slater*ChargersOTOrlando Brown*ChiefsOTDion DawkinsBillsGQuenton Nelson*ColtsGJoel Bitonio*BrownsGWyatt TellerBrownsCCorey Linsley*ChargersCRyan KellyColtsNFC - OffensePOSITIONPLAYERTEAMQBAaron Rodgers*PackersQBTom BradyBuccaneersQBKyler MurrayCardinalsRBDalvin Cook*VikingsRBJames ConnerCardinalsRBAlvin KamaraSaintsFBKyle Juszczyk49ersWRCooper Kupp*RamsWRDavante Adams*PackersWRJustin JeffersonVikingsWRDeebo Samuel49ersTEGeorge Kittle*49ersTEKyle PittsFalconsOTTrent Williams*49ersOTTristan Wirfs*BuccaneersOTTyron SmithCowboysGZack Martin*CowboysGBrandon Scherff*WashingtonGAli MarpetBuccaneersCJason Kelce*EaglesCRyan JensenBuccaneersAFC - DefensePOSITIONPLAYERTEAMDEMyles Garrett*BrownsDEMaxx Crosby*RaidersDETrey HendricksonBengalsDLDeForest Buckner*ColtsDLChris Jones*ChiefsDLCameron HeywardSteelersOLBT.J. The craziness that was Week 15 left us with just one cashed ticket out of three - though it was arguably the easiest under call of the season, given how the Browns' COVID-19 outbreak affected their offense. Here are our favorite total plays for Week 16:Jaguars @ Jets (-2, 41.5), 1 p.m. ETNo team has been a better bet to the under this year than the Jaguars, who have cashed in 11 of 14 games behind the NFL's worst scoring offense (14 points per game) and don't look much better in the post-Urban Meyer era.Jacksonville managed only 16 points a week ago against the Texans - who had surrendered at least 30 points in each of their previous two contests - and scored just six points in the game's final 40 minutes. That shouldn't surprise anyone: in eight matchups since a Week 7 bye, the Jaguars have scored one or zero touchdowns in seven of those games. It's not as if the Jets have been much better, ranking 28th in points per drive (1.61) and dead last in total giveaways (26). As if that wasn't enough reason to fade this group, mounting injuries and positive COVID-19 tests will make it tough for this unit to gain any sort of traction Sunday.Pick: Under 41.5Rams (-3, 49) @ Vikings, 1 p.m.It's tempting to write off this Vikings offense after it managed just 17 points and 61 passing yards against the Bears' ravaged secondary. Doing so would be a mistake, as Minnesota's offense has consistently produced this season and is primed for a bounce-back showing this week. The Vikings should benefit from the return of star receiver Adam Thielen, who missed the last two weeks with a sprained ankle and scored 10 touchdowns in his 11 healthy contests. His nose for the end zone has been a key catalyst for Minnesota's stellar offensive output since Week 6 (27.6 points per game), which ranks fifth among all teams in that stretch. The Rams rank sixth in that span in points per game (27.2) and fifth on the season (27.6), even after last week's 20-point showing that was marred by the team's COVID-19 outbreak. With the division crown within reach, expect an inspired effort from Matthew Stafford and Co. in this one.Pick: Over 49Steelers @ Chiefs (-10, 46), 4:25 p.m.Each passing day brings more concern for the Chiefs, who could be without Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, among others, on Sunday due to a COVID-19 outbreak. Those two combined for a whopping 339 of Kansas City's 496 yards a week ago and scored three of the team's four touchdowns, including the walk-off winner in overtime on a 34-yard dart to Kelce. If those two are sidelined Sunday, that could be a back-breaker for Patrick Mahomes and this inconsistent offense, which finally looked to be clicking behind its two star pass-catchers. The rest of the Chiefs' skill position players have combined for less than half of the team's receiving yards and touchdown catches this year, while top rusher Clyde Edwards-Helaire has run for fewer than 4.0 yards per carry in each of his last three games. The Steelers' offense is hardly a threat even when healthy, scoring 19 points last week despite being gifted four turnovers and consistently stellar field position. Pittsburgh has scored 20 or fewer points in three of its previous four games and will struggle to do much better against a thinned but talented Chiefs defense.Pick: Under 46C Jackson Cowart is a sports betting writer at theScore. The Tennessee Titans' grip on the AFC South's top spot is weakening after they lost three of their last four games, while the San Francisco 49ers have strengthened their playoff bid with wins in five of their last six.The two teams meet Thursday night in Nashville with plenty of playoff implications on the line. Here's how we're betting 49ers-Titans:C Jackson Cowart: Over 44.5It's hard to know what to make of these 49ers, who've turned their season around with a major assist from lousy competition. That shouldn't fully discredit what we've seen from San Francisco's offense, which ranks fourth in DVOA and has scored at least 23 points in six consecutive games despite a slew of injuries to key skill-position stars.Conversely, the Titans' scoring attack has been hindered by remarkably bad turnover luck. Tennessee rushed for 201 yards with 22 total first downs against the Steelers last week but scored just 13 points thanks to a whopping five fumbles (three lost) - the third time in four games this team has fumbled it at least four times.Fumble luck is mostly random in the NFL, so don't discount the Titans too much heading into this matchup, especially with Julio Jones and A.J. Brown potentially playing Thursday. If those two can boost an offense that continues to dominate on the ground, we should see a shoot-out in this one.Alex Moretto: D'Onta Foreman over 44.5 rush yardsThere's no reason to believe the Titans will suddenly stop having success on the ground, which makes this line rather puzzling. Tennessee won't abandon the run with A.J. Brown and Julio Jones back. In fact, the presence of those two out wide should help D'Onta Foreman's cause here.Foreman has enjoyed a massive share of touches out of the backfield the last few weeks and remains this offense's primary ball carrier. He's coming off a game in which he scampered for 108 yards on 22 totes. The 49ers are solid against the run, but this is a sheer volume play. The Titans want to be a run-first club, and they have their most success - as do all teams - when they're running the ball efficiently and effectively. Brown and Jones will be eased back from lingering injuries, so 15 carries feels like Foreman's floor. Behind this dominant offensive line, he can surpass this total with a mere three yards per carry.Matt Russell: Titans +3.5This is a numbers play for me. Whether you play around with power ratings to create projected point spreads or you think about it qualitatively, you can understand why the 49ers might be overvalued after they won five of their last six games. Compare that with the Titans' struggles, and now the line is up to a field goal on a short week.On the field, we might have already forgotten about the 49ers' loss in Seattle a couple weeks back. The Titans shot themselves in the foot in Pittsburgh last week, but they can move the ball effectively against San Francisco if they can avoid those crushing turnovers. Should Tennessee have as many opportunities in the red zone as the Falcons did against the 49ers last week, I trust this team to do a much better job converting them into scores.I still have the 49ers favored in this game, but I can only get as high as -2.5. That makes the Titans the play for me at a key number, as nerve-racking as it is to go against Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler and wide receiver Jalen Guyton were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Both players' availability for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans is uncertain.Ekeler has produced 1,347 scrimmage yards and 17 total touchdowns through 14 games in 2021. He leads the Chargers with 789 rushing yards entering Week 16.With Ekeler possibly sidelined this weekend, tailbacks Justin Jackson, Joshua Kelley, and Larry Rountree could receive more snaps.Guyton has garnered more targets as part of the Chargers' receiving corps. He ranks fifth on the team with 386 receiving yards to go along with three scores. The pair joins a growing number of players on the reserve group that already features pass-rusher Joey Bosa and center Corey Linsley.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. While several NFL teams have experienced an increase in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals have managed to avoid a serious outbreak.Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow joked Wednesday that they haven't been hit hard by the coronavirus because there's not much to do in Cincinnati."We're doing a great job with our COVID protocols," Burrow said. "Fortunately, there's not a ton to do in Cincinnati, so ... nobody's going out to clubs and bars and getting COVID every weekend."The NFL had more than 150 players test positive for COVID-19 in Week 15, prompting the league to postpone games for the first time this season. The Bengals currently have just one player on the reserve/COVID-19 list, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Le'Veon Bell was close to walking away from football before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers."I got to the point where I had thought about kinda calling it quits,” Bell said. “It kinda wasn’t working out for me the last couple spots I’ve been at. This is literally the only spot that would make me want to play football and go out there and be excited to play.""I was going to start boxing and focusing on boxing," Bell added. "I think this was a great opportunity, something you can't really turn down, playing with coach (Bruce) Arians, Tom Brady, and obviously (Antonio Brown)."Bell, who was once one of the league's most productive rushers, joins his fourth team in two seasons. He split the 2020 campaign between the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs before making five appearances with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this season. The 29-year-old recorded 5,336 rushing yards and 7,996 yards from scrimmage from 2013-17 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's appeared in just 31 games since then and has averaged just 3.4 yards per carry. The Buccaneers will look to use Bell and Ronald Jones to aid the team's rushing attack in Leonard Fournette's absence. Fournette is expected to miss time after suffering a hamstring injury Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. The Carolina Panthers will start quarterback Cam Newton on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Sam Darnold will also receive snaps in his return from a shoulder injury, head coach Matt Rhule announced Wednesday, according to David Newton of ESPN.Newton has struggled since returning to Carolina in the wake of Darnold's injury. He's 0-4 this season as the starter and has five turnovers in his past three starts.Darnold was also playing poorly prior to his injury after a solid start to his career with the Panthers. The signal-caller went 1-4 from Week 5-9 while completing just 51.88% of his passes for 797 yards and two touchdowns against eight interceptions. However, the Panthers are likely motivated to give Darnold a chance to regain his form after guaranteeing his 2022 salary of $18.86 million. The team picked up his fifth-year option following an offseason trade from the New York Jets. The NFC South club has also given snaps to backup P.J. Walker during Newton's stint as the starter due to the former MVP's unfamiliarity with the playbook.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Why didn't we just take the Lions!? We should have taken the Saints - of course they'd shut out the Bucs! While those weren't plays most had in their account, at least there were upset options available this past week. Our Week 15 selection for a live moneyline underdog had a second-half lead before it evaporated in the fourth quarter. We'll enter the third-last week of the season focusing on a pair of teams with nothing left to play for.The spotFor maybe the first time in NFL history, the team that played on Monday Night Football actually has the rest advantage heading into the following week. If the Bears wanted to, they could have flown to Seattle and watched the Seahawks play on Tuesday night.Chicago was never in legitimate playoff contention, but they've shown up the last two weeks in Green Bay and against the Vikings. Turnover issues and some coaching missteps derailed their chances to win, but every game Justin Fields plays gives more hope for the Bears going forward. The Seahawks may have believed they could steal the final NFC playoff spot, but that hope is now doused. It seems Russell Wilson is heading out the door, and the Pete Carroll era probably should come to its end as well. The Hawks are truly playing out the string this season. It's hard to understand why they should be considered a -280 favorite against anyone.Bears offense vs. Seahawks defenseThe numbers won't overwhelm you, but since Fields has returned as the starter, the Bears have 347 and 370 total yards against two playoff contenders. Fields has used his legs; David Montgomery has shown the combination of shiftiness and explosion that made him the Bears' tailback of the future. The turnovers are still an issue but, against the Vikings, it was more of a case of fumble luck early that halted drives. A blocked field goal and a pair of back-against-the-wall fourth-down attempts short-circuited drives. The Bears only punted three times in a game they scored just three points in before the meaningless, sad touchdown with 0:00 on the clock. The Seahawks' defense kept them in the game against the Rams, but that could be a case of familiarity with what a division rival does. Their pass defense is 24th in yards per attempt against (7.0) and is even worse in their last three games (7.6/ypa).Perhaps more interestingly, despite having the Saints and Cardinals on their schedule, they've missed facing two of the more mobile quarterbacks in the league as Kyler Murray was injured and Taysom Hill was still watching Jameis Winston take snaps. Fields is the most dangerous runner that the Hawks will have faced at the quarterback position all season.Bears defense vs. Seahawks offensePanic rang out through Chicago when the Bears were forced to play without their starting secondary on Monday night. It didn't matter. The most replaceable position in the NFL was populated with replacement-level players and still functioned. You can find defensive backs on the street and survive if you have difference-makers in the front seven.Akiem Hicks and his supporting cast should prevent Seattle from having success on the ground. It's become clear that Wilson has no interest in using his legs as a weapon. Meanwhile, the expectation is that the starters the Bears were missing will be back, and even if they're not, at least we know the replacements are capable. Especially if there's a cap on Wilson's arm strength, which seems to be the case.Lastly, there's a fear Seattle's home-field advantage just doesn't hold up in the dwindling Wilson-Carroll era, as the Seahawks are 2-4 at home this season. There's a real chance they move to 2-5 after this week, and at better than 2:1 odds, that's a bet I'm willing to make.Pick: Bears ML +220Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. The teaser basket can only be stopped by two entities: COVID-19 and Jonathan Taylor. The Browns leg was removed from our list of options in Week 15 due to a postponement, leaving us with eight legs that went 7-1, with Taylor's late touchdown scamper causing Patriots teasers to go up in flames. Not all teaser legs are created equal. The biggest mistake novice bettors make is teasing through zero because they're wasting valuable price points on a number the game probably won't land on: a tie. So, how can we maximize the six-point move? How can we get what we're paying for at -270 per leg?Let's use one of the Christmas Day matchups (Browns-Packers) as an example:SPREADODDSGB -8-110GB -7.5-120GB -7-130GB -6.5-140GB -6-155GB -5.5-170GB -5-180GB -4.5-190GB -4-210GB -3.5-230GB -3-250GB -2.5-275GB -2-290The alternative spread gives you the Packers -2.5 at -275. Would you rather that, or the -2 that a teaser leg provides at the same price? What about Packers -2 at -270 versus the moneyline of -370?While that's a good exercise to determine value, several players could come back for the Browns, which would drop the line. At that point, a teaser wouldn't be viable. So we turn to the teaser basket for the best options to capture as many key numbers as possible.Teaser basketLet's look at the mathematically optimal plays available for Week 16:TEAMSPREADTEASER LEGPackers-8-2Colts+1.5+7.5Ravens+2.5+8.5Bills+2.5+8.5Jaguars+2.5+8.5Chargers-8-2Vikings+3+9Seahawks-7-1Broncos+1.5+7.5Dolphins+3+9The Colts are in a tough spot after their win over the Patriots, so I might be less likely to fade the Cardinals in the Christmas Day nightcap.I'm all about those three Sunday options that provide an opportunity to tease short underdogs up to +8.5. For the Ravens specifically, I would deploy that teaser leg sooner than later, as Lamar Jackson's return would alter that line and ruin the teaser leg. If he doesn't play, you're still getting a functional team at +8.5.You could throw the Chargers at -2 into any teaser and probably not be all that upset. Even if a few more players land in COVID-19 protocol, it's hard to imagine they lose to the Texans.Despite Drew Lock probably getting the call for the Broncos, the Browns just covered with Nick Mullens at the helm versus the Raiders, so Denver can stay inside a touchdown in Las Vegas. Both the Vikings and Dolphins have close-game DNA, so capturing all the key numbers in their games is worth a look there.Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. Le'Veon Bell has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced Wednesday. The running back will look to replace an injured Leonard Fournette after being cut from the Baltimore Ravens last month. Fournette is likely to hit the injured reserve and miss the rest of the regular season with a hamstring injury but should return for the playoffs, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.Fournette injured his hamstring in a 9-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints, tallying 67 total yards before exiting. Ronald Jones will likely take the Buccaneers' starting running back role with Bell as the second option in Fournette's absence.Bell played five games with the Ravens between October and November, totaling 31 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nick Sirianni yelled at Jalen Hurts on the sideline for being careless with the ball and losing a fumble. Then the Philadelphia Eagles coach saw his starting quarterback hold on tight to carry the team on his shoulders.Hurts ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, helping the Eagles come back from an early deficit to beat virus-ravaged Washington 27-17 Tuesday night in a critical showdown with NFC playoff implications. In his first game back from an ankle injury, Hurts scored on a pair of 1-yard QB sneaks to set the single-season franchise record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 10 and connected with Greg Ward on a 19-yard TD pass.“He played a great football game — one of the best I’ve seen him play,” Sirianni said of Hurts. "Jalen is able to take tough coaching. He responded great and played a great game.”Hurts was 20 of 26 for 296 yards passing with the TD and a bad-luck interception when Dallas Goedert dropped a catchable pass and the ball bounced off his right foot and into the hands of Washington’s Landon Collins. That was a bad bounce for Philadelphia that helped stake Washington (6-8) to a 10-point lead after the first quarter. Behind a dominant effort from their offensive line, it was all Eagles (7-7) from there: They outgained Washington 435-136 the rest of the way and shut down an opponent missing a handful of starters because of COVID-19 protocol.“I told the guys we had to go in with the mentality of not being denied,” Hurts said. “We had so many things go wrong early in the game, but we overcame it.”Miles Sanders exploited the holes in Washington’s defense left by those absences and additional injuries, carrying the ball 18 times for a career-high 131 yards.“Credit to the offensive line,” said Sanders, who became the first Eagles player with back-to-back 100-yard rushing games since LeSean McCoy in 2014. "They’re making it very easy on the running backs to run behind them.”Well-rested coming off its bye week, Philadelphia finished with 238 yards rushing, becoming the first team with 175-plus yards on the ground in seven consecutive games since the 1985 Chicago Bears. That's also a first in Eagles franchise history.“It was unacceptable how they were running around,” Washington defensive end Montez Sweat said.Goedert made up for his early blunder and a later drop by catching seven passes for 135 yards, including a 45-yard completion.Despite the game getting pushed back 54 hours because of Washington’s coronavirus outbreak, the delay did not allow starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke or backup Kyle Allen to clear protocol in time to play. Garrett Gilbert, who signed Friday, completed nine of his first 13 passes and finished 20 of 31 for 194 yards.“I got nothing but respect for Garrett,” said receiver Terry McLaurin, whose 46-yard catch was the longest play of the game. “It was challenging for all of us, but he did his job and he put it all out there.”Second-year running back Antonio Gibson ran for Washington's first touchdown and had 20 of his 26 rushing yards on that drive, when he got the ball on all seven plays. He was slowed by a toe injury, the same thing that derailed his rookie season, and Jaret Patterson had the team's other rushing TD.COVID-19 ABSENCESWashington played without five starters who remained in NFL COVID-19 protocol: Heinicke, 2020 All-Pro right guard Brandon Scherff, center Tyler Larsen, cornerback Kendall Fuller and safety Kamren Curl. Reserve defensive tackle Tim Settle and third-string tight end Sammis Reyes were cleared but inactive.Philadelphia's only virus-related absence was starting left guard Landon Dickerson.KING MAKES HISTORYWith Washington running backs coach Randy Jordan unavailable because of COVID-19 protocols, assistant Jennifer King made history filling in for him. King became the first Black woman to serve as a position coach for an NFL game."It wasn’t really any drop-off," Patterson said. “Coach King is great. She deservedly will be a coach one day, and she did really well.”INJURIESWashington: CB William Jackson left late in the second quarter with an ankle injury and did not return. ... DE Daniel Wise injured his right knee on a cut block in the first half and was ruled out early in the second. Collins left briefly with a foot injury. ... WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) was inactive, and RB J.D. McKissic (neck) was put on injured reserve before the game.Eagles: TE Jack Stoll was shaken up early in the fourth quarter and walked off the field gingerly after getting medical attention. ... WR DeVonta Smith limped off late in the first quarter after an incomplete pass into the end zone but came back on the following drive.UP NEXTWashington: Visits the division-leading Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.Eagles: Host the New York Giants on Sunday.___More AP NFL coverage: https://apnews.com/hub/NFL and https://twitter.com/AP_NFLCopyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Washington Football Team was down to its third-string quarterback for Tuesday's pivotal NFC East clash.Garrett Gilbert started against the Philadelphia Eagles after Taylor Heinicke and backup Kyle Allen were both unable to clear COVID-19 protocols in time.Heinicke and Allen were placed on the reserve group Friday, forcing Washington to sign Gilbert from the New England Patriots' practice squad.Gilbert's only other NFL start came last season for the Dallas Cowboys in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was 21 of 38 for 243 yards and one touchdown against one interception while adding 28 yards on the ground. He becomes the second third-string quarterback to start in Week 15 after the Cleveland Browns had to play Nick Mullens in Monday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders due to COVID-19 issues. The Kansas City Chiefs sent wide receiver Tyreek Hill and six other players to the COVID-19 list Tuesday, according to ESPN's Field Yates.Cornerback Rashad Fenton, tight end Blake Bell, linebacker Nick Bolton, guard Kyle Long, offensive tackle Lucas Niang, and cornerback Armani Watts will join Hill. Tight end Travis Kelce and kicker Harrison Butker were already on the reserve.Kansas City has apparently become the NFL's coronavirus hotspot ahead of Week 16, with one source describing the situation to Schefter as "a mess." The Chiefs are scheduled to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.Hill ranks fifth in the NFL in receiving with 1,178 yards and nine touchdowns. Kelce isn't far behind with 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns. Mecole Hardman is the only other pass-catcher on the team with 500 yards.Kansas City has won seven in a row and owns the best record in the AFC at 10-4.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Los Angeles Rams have activated pass-rusher Von Miller from the COVID-19 list ahead of Tuesday's rescheduled game against the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced.Rams right tackle Rob Havenstein, tight end Tyler Higbee, and safety Jordan Fuller didn't test out of the protocol in time and will miss the divisional matchup, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Los Angeles also activated running back Jake Funk and linebackers Travin Howard and Christian Rozeboom from the reserve group. The Rams have been among the hardest-hit teams in the NFL amid a league-wide spike in COVID-19 cases. But the team should be close to full strength after the NFL relaxed its testing requirements for vaccinated and asymptomatic players and pushed L.A.'s game against Seattle from Sunday to Tuesday.Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Darrell Henderson were among a group of players activated Saturday, while star cornerback Jalen Ramsey was cleared to play Sunday.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Cleveland Browns may have avoided another significant loss to the roster.Defensive end Myles Garrett suffered a groin injury during the second half of Monday's 16-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and appeared to be in discomfort but didn't exit the game. The All-Pro pass-rusher said postgame that he won't miss any time moving forward."It was tough, it hurt, but everybody's hurtin'," Garrett said, according to NFL.com's Grant Gordon. "I don't want to say I'm special. Everybody's fighting through something. You're gonna have to kill me to take me off the field, or you gonna have to break my leg. You're gonna have to take me completely out because I'm gonna go out there until I can't."Garrett finished the contest with three tackles and one tackle for a loss. The NFL also named him to the 2022 Pro Bowl roster Monday. The Browns entered Week 15 with 19 players on the COVID-19 list, including starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, wide receiver Jarvis Landry, and offensive tackle Jedrick Wills. The league moved the Browns-Raiders game to Monday evening after postponing the matchup initially scheduled for Dec. 18.Cleveland owns a 7-7 record following the loss and sits last in the AFC North. The Browns will play the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Pass-catching hasn't been a strength for Jones, so if he's able to contribute in that area, it'll go a long way toward boosting his fantasy stock.A game against the Panthers could be a recipe for success as well since he put up 198 yards from scrimmage and a score on Carolina in Week 10 last season.Jones should be viewed as an RB2 with RB1 upside for however long Fournette is sidelined.Justin Jackson, ChargersNext UpRosteredFABat HOU5%$24Jackson is coming off his best game of the season with 99 yards from scrimmage on 14 touches. He saw the field on 54% of the Chargers' snaps as the team reduced Austin Ekeler's workload on a short week. That trend wasn't likely to continue, but with Ekeler being placed on the COVID-19 list Monday, the star back's status for Week 16 is in doubt. While the new protocols make it easier for players to get cleared quickly, there are no guarantees Ekeler will be available.Jackson becomes a must-add now and would be a top-20 option if he gets the start in what should be an extremely favorable matchup with the Texans.Samaje Perine, BengalsNext UpRosteredFABvs. BAL13%$19Similar to Jackson, Perine is a preemptive pickup in the event his starter is unable to suit up this week.Joe Mixon is dealing with an ankle sprain, and head coach Zac Taylor said he'll be limited early in the week. We'll be following practice reports closely, but until then you should scoop Perine up off the waiver wire. At best, he'd be a low-end RB2 if Mixon were to miss time. And at worst, he's one of the few high-upside backup RBs still available in most leagues.Flex options: Craig Reynolds at ATL (13% rostered), Ameer Abdullah vs. TB (8% rostered), Jordan Howard vs. NYG (9% rostered), Tevin Coleman vs. JAX (22% rostered), Latavius Murray at CIN (26% rostered), Rex Burkhead vs. LAC (10% rostered)Risky flex options: Duke Johnson at NO (2% rostered), Dontrell Hilliard vs. SF (37% rostered), D'Ernest Johnson at GB (23% rostered), Jeremy McNichols vs. SF (8% rostered), Devontae Booker at PHI (23% rostered), Brandon Bolden vs. BUF (16% rostered), Alex Collins vs. CHI (23% rostered), Josh Kelley at HOU (0% rostered)Risky flex options (if healthy): J.D. Hockenson out of the lineup. He's turned that volume into stat lines of 10-86-1, 8-73-0, and most recently 8-90-1.That makes him a WR3 with significant upside if Hockenson and Swift remain sidelined. However, his value would take a hit if Jared Goff - who was added to the COVID-19 list Monday - isn't cleared.Gabriel Davis, BillsNext UpRosteredFABvs. NE19%$19The Bills couldn't have asked for more from Davis this week. The sophomore wideout stepped in for an injured Emmanuel Sanders and delivered a five-catch, 85-yard, two-touchdown performance while playing a season-high 90% of snaps. He's now made a total of four end-zone appearances over the last three contests and should continue to be a big part of the Bills' high-volume passing attack.A matchup with the Patriots' defense isn't ideal, but Davis' red-zone prowess puts him in the WR3 conversation until Sanders returns.Marquez Valdes-Scantling, PackersNext UpRosteredFABvs. CLE41%$14Valdes-Scantling is starting to see more consistent targets in the Packers' offense. As teams focus on trying to disrupt the connection between Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, MVS is making them pay. He's gone over 50 yards in three of the past four games, including stat lines of 4-123-1, 4-50-0, and 5-98-1.If you're looking for some pop in your WR3 or flex spot, Valdes-Scantling comes with a massive ceiling and a lower floor than the names above him on this list.Russell Gage is above or close to the 50% rostered mark but should be rostered in most leagues.Risky flex options: Rashod Bateman at CIN (41% rostered), Donovan Peoples-Jones at GB (14% rostered), K.J. However, he's still seen five targets or more in seven of his last eight outings entering Week 15 and topped 40 yards fives times in that stretch. His Week 16 opponents, the Seahawks, have yet to play this week but are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends. The Kansas City Chiefs placed tight end Travis Kelce on the COVID-19 list Monday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Kelce could return for Sunday's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers under the NFL's new return-to-play protocols for vaccinated players. The 32-year-old recorded 10 receptions for a career-best 191 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, against the Los Angeles Chargers last Thursday.Noah Gray will take over the tight end position if Kelce doesn't clear protocols. The Chiefs also added kicker Harrison Butker and cornerback Charvarius Ward to the COVID-19 list after both reportedly registered positive tests.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Detroit Lions placed quarterback Jared Goff and offensive tackle Matt Nelson on the COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday. Both players' statuses are uncertain ahead of Detroit's matchup next Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.Goff led the Lions to their second win of the 2021 season with a 30-12 rout of the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The two-time Pro Bowler threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. The 27-year-old has passed for 3,007 yards, 17 touchdowns, and eight interceptions with a 67% completion percentage through 13 contests. If Goff is unavailable in Week 16, the Lions could start Tim Boyle or David Blough in his place. Boyle lined up under center in a 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 when an oblique injury sidelined Goff.Detroit activated running back Jamaal Williams off the COVID-19 list Monday after he missed the team's past two contests.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The New York Giants placed quarterback Daniel Jones on injured reserve Monday, shutting him down for the rest of the season because of his ailing neck.Jones missed the previous three weeks with the injury. The Giants didn't reveal specifics but said they expect Jones to make a full recovery. The 24-year-old started the first 11 games of the season, throwing for 2,428 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Giants hoped he would breakthrough with an improved cast of receivers, but a myriad of injuries caused his weapons to be in and out of the lineup all year. The sixth overall pick in 2019, Jones has displayed fairly strong accuracy from the pocket throughout his career. However, turnovers have plagued him in all three seasons.Daniel Jones: Passing statsYearTDsINTsFumbles201924121220201110820211075New York will go into the offseason needing to decide whether to exercise Jones' fifth-year option for 2023.Along with Jones, the Giants also confirmed that wide receiver Sterling Shepard will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa is on the COVID-19 list and will miss Week 16 against the Houston Texans, head coach Brandon Staley said Monday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.Staley added that running back Austin Ekeler and center Corey Linsley are also on reserve but are day-to-day.Bosa spent time on the COVID-19 list in mid-November after being a close contact of someone who tested positive, but he returned without missing a game. The 26-year-old has 9.5 sacks over 14 appearances this season.Ekeler has scored a touchdown in all three games the Chargers have played in December and has rushed for 789 yards on the season. Linsley was an All-Pro for the Green Bay Packers in 2020 and has solidified the middle of the Bolts' offensive line in his first year with the team. The 8-6 Chargers are battling for an AFC wild card with three games left in the regular season.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed he suffered an ACL injury Sunday versus the New Orleans Saints."Chris has an ACL," Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Monday, according to Sarah Walsh of FOX Sports. "And he's done. He'll be done for the season."Godwin was initially believed to have sustained an MCL sprain, which wouldn't have necessarily been season-ending.The 25-year-old was hurt on a low but legal hit from P.J. Williams while attempting to corral a pass. He eventually left the field under his own power.Godwin is playing on the franchise tag and is scheduled to become a free agent in 2022. He leads the Buccaneers with 1,103 receiving yards to go with five touchdowns, and he topped the team in receiving during last year's playoffs. The Buccaneers also lost wide receiver Mike Evans to a hamstring injury versus the Saints, but Arians said the 28-year-old should return quickly."Don't know when, but soon," said Arians.Tampa Bay will soon have wide receiver Antonio Brown back in the fold. Brown, 33, is returning from a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's COVID-19 protocols and hasn't played since spraining his ankle in Week 5.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc.
