Wide receiver Davante Adams held the officials responsible Sunday for the Green Bay Packers' failure to come out of Week 2 with a win over the Minnesota Vikings."The reffing today, I'm not one to even go there, especially in front of the cameras, but it was questionable all game," Adams told reporters, according to ESPN's Jason Wilde. " ... That's why you can't put the officials in position to determine the outcome of the game."The Packers and Vikings played to a 29-29 overtime draw, but that was after Green Bay appeared to have a win wrapped up at the end of regulation. In the final minute of the fourth quarter, the Packers intercepted Kirk Cousins, only to have the turnover negated by a questionable penalty for roughing the passer against Clay Matthews.

A potential suitor for Josh Gordon is apparently out of the running,The Dallas Cowboys will not pursue the wide receiver, a source told Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr.Gordon is expected to be traded or released by the Cleveland Browns after general manager John Dorsey said Saturday that the team will be parting ways with the maligned wideout. Gordon has played just 11 games since the start of the 2014 season due to multiple suspensions and injuries. The 27-year-old was ruled out for Week 2 due to a hamstring injury. It was later reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Gordon sustained the injury while doing a promotional shoot. The Cowboys instead plan to add receiver Brice Butler, according to Hill. Butler caught 43 passes for 794 yards and six touchdowns over 36 games with Dallas from 2015-17. He signed a two-year, $2.6-million contract with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason but was recently released.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. While I was on the field, I just didn't feel right, and I told the coaches 'I'm not feeling like myself.'"Davis left his Buffalo Bills' 31-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at halftime, and Bills head coach Sean McDermott said afterward, "He told us he was done," according to WGR 550.Some Bills teammates weren't thrilled with the move. Lynch said the 49ers are doing their due diligence on the receiver, who has an extensive history of problems off the field.Gordon showed up late to the Browns' facility Saturday morning with a hamstring injury, which he reportedly sustained during a promotional event. The 27-year-old also reportedly has his eye on San Francisco and the Dallas Cowboys as preferred landing spots. The Week 2 NFL slate is already well underway with nine games kicking off in Sunday's early time slot. The Week 2 matchup with Denver will be the first road game under head coach Jon Gruden, and the Broncos are fresh off a comeback win over the Seahawks in Mile High last weekend. The Broncos opened as 4.5-point favorites before money came pouring in on them - to the extent that the book will need the road team on Sunday."The biggest liability as of now is Denver," Bernanke said.New England at Jacksonville - 4:25 p.m. ET Open: PK / 45Current: NE -1 / 44In a rematch of the AFC Championship Game, the Jaguars will have an opportunity to exact revenge after watching New England storm back late to reach the Super Bowl.New England typically attracts public money because of the franchise's popularity, but the book will be hoping the Jags come through this time around."Respected money came in on the Jaguars so as of now the book is rooting for the Pats," Bernanke said. Both teams are 1-0 heading into Sunday's matchup.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. Whether he's ultimately released or traded, it's clear Josh Gordon has finally worn out his welcome in Cleveland. But while the Browns are done with the oft-troubled wideout, Gordon will likely have plenty of suitors around the league - especially after it was reported that he didn't fail another drug test and isn't facing additional discipline from the NFL.With that in mind, here are the top five destinations for Gordon:New England PatriotsIf any team and coach can finally help Gordon reach his sky-high potential, it's the Patriots and Bill Belichick. Moreover, New England needs Gordon almost as much as he needs them.Phillip Dorsett, a former first-round bust of the Indianapolis Colts, led all Patriots receivers in Week 1 with seven catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Chris Hogan and Cordarrelle Patterson combined for just two catches and 17 yards ... and that was the entirety of New England's wide receiver production against Houston.Of course, the Patriots have won titles before without top-tier receiving talent, and Julian Edelman will return from suspension in Week 5. Still, Belichick is a master at revitalizing weak positions during the season and knows the importance of having mismatch-type weapons come January. While some may see Gordon as a poor fit for The Patriot Way, Belichick has proven he's willing to take shots on diva receivers like Randy Moss and Chad Ochocinco - with varying results.Dallas CowboysGrant Halverson / Getty Images Sport / GettyReplacing a talented but unreliable receiver with another one might not seem like the smartest move, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has rarely been able to resist a shiny new toy. And in fairness, Gordon is two years younger than Dez Bryant and has much less wear on his tires.Gordon is reportedly eyeing two teams if he's traded, the Cowboys and 49ers, and it's hard to imagine the interest isn't mutual in Dallas considering the team's awful offensive performance in Week 1. Cole Beasley was the leading receiver (seven catches) in the 16-8 loss to the Carolina Panthers, while journeyman Deonte Thompson was targeted on critical downs late in the game. The Cowboys could roll the dice and hope Allen Hurns or rookie Michael Gallup emerge as their top wideout, but considering Dak Prescott's development potentially hangs in the balance, the team may be tempted to take a big swing on Gordon.Indianapolis ColtsWhile most of Gordon's potential suitors will likely be probable playoff contenders, the Colts could be a sleeper destination. They can offer him a less pressure-filled environment, but still a shot at being a big part of a potentially explosive passing game.Outside of T.Y. Hilton, quarterback Andrew Luck is once again lacking top receiving options. The tight end duo of Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle mitigates that weakness to some degree, but Ryan Grant and Chester Rogers would be best in complementary roles behind Hilton and Gordon.Meanwhile, Gordon could be perfect in the Alshon Jeffery role in Frank Reich's system, but with a far greater ability to challenge opposing teams deep - something Indy struggled to do in Week 1. The rebuilding Colts may not be willing to part with any draft picks to snag Gordon, but if the receiver is released, it could be hard to resist giving Luck the most physically gifted weapon of his career.San Francisco 49ersHannah Foslien / Getty Images Sport / GettyIn the offseason, the 49ers opted against using any of their mountains of free-agent cash to land the likes of Allen Robinson or Sammy Watkins. And they appeared to pay the price in a disappointing Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, as Jimmy Garoppolo completed just 45.5 percent of his passes and was intercepted three times.Sure, the Vikings' defense should be elite this year and San Francisco's pass protection was awful, but it's not ideal that tight end George Kittle led the team in catches (five) and yards (90), even in an offense predicated on spreading the ball around.Kyle Shanahan's system is a star-maker, though, and rookie Dante Pettis looked promising in a 61-yard performance. The 49ers may decide to trust the process and not overreact to one bad performance. On the other hand, the need is there, and in addition to Gordon apparently viewing San Francisco as a top destination, Shanahan knows the wideout after acting as the Browns' offensive coordinator in 2014.Seattle SeahawksThe Seahawks have shown they'll bring in players with off-field issues - most recently Mychal Kendricks despite the linebacker pleading guilty to insider trading the week before - so Gordon shouldn't scare away head coach Pete Carroll.Seattle certainly needs help at receiver, too. No. 1 wideout Doug Baldwin is dealing with a sprained MCL, leaving Tyler Lockett and 34-year-old Brandon Marshall as the top options in the passing game. And with the Seahawks hoping to rely on Russell Wilson and the offense to win games while the new-look defense finds its feet, a weapon like Gordon would be a major boost. The presence of Marshall could also be a factor for Gordon if he's released and gets to choose his destination. The veteran has battled and overcome mental health issues during his career, so perhaps he could be the mentor Gordon needs to get his career back on track.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Cleveland Browns' decision to release wide receiver Josh Gordon on Monday wasn't a result of a new substance abuse violation or a failed drug test, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.Gordon's time in Cleveland apparently came to an end due to a hamstring injury suffered in a promotional shoot; the receiver was also late to the team facility Saturday. The 27-year-old has four previous substance abuse violations. Trash talking is one area of football that Tom Brady doesn't excel at, according to teammate Rob Gronkowski. The New England Patriots tight end was asked to rank Brady's trash-talking skills during a press conference Wednesday and gave his teammate a failing grade."One out of 10," Gronkowski said. When asked why Brady is such a bad trash talker, Gronkowski explained, "He's focused always. (Feel free to read what a typical Sunday/Monday in the casa de Kolodziej looks like to help you prepare for what will hopefully be more loot in your pocket by the time the weekend comes to a close.)As always, be sure to shop around for the best numbers available.Top PlaysCarolina at Atlanta Pick: Over 44.5A wise man once said to bet numbers, not teams - and that man has clearly never bet a Carolina Panthers over in his life.Though I've tossed around the phrase "bane of my existence" a few times already while previewing certain teams, Carolina's offense is the ultimate bane. The top bane. Nobody can out-bane the Panthers.Even worse, I thought I learned my lesson last season, but that clearly isn't true. I can't begin to tell you how hyped I am to watch Cam Newton run 53 read options that go for 3 yards a play. He will convert on every fourth-and-1 from his side of the field when I need a change of possession, but he'll get stuffed 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage in the same down and distance from the goal line. Carolina must lead the league in 10-minute drives that end with no points over the last five years. But, to the original point: Yes, you should bet numbers over teams, no matter how many ulcers form in your stomach. This Falcons-Panthers total is right on par with last season's, and neither team's identity has changed all that much.Carolina still leaves something to be desired for a quick-strike offense, but Newton poses enough of a challenge as a runner to potentially open things up. Meanwhile, the stout Falcons defense is a bit fractured - starters Keanu Neal and Deion Jones will be sidelined for extended periods due to their respective injuries. That should offset the Panthers' injuries on the offensive line.If the field was 80 yards long instead of 100, the Falcons might be the highest-scoring team in history. Does any offensive coordinator hate scoring points as much as Steve Sarkisian? Play-calling in the red zone aside, Matt Ryan isn't safe from criticism either after completing just 21 of 43 passes and throwing a pick in the season-opening loss to the Eagles.Still, Atlanta trots out an experienced quarterback with the weapons to expose a secondary that wasn't tested by Dak Prescott and the Cowboys last weekend. After the Falcons' offensive showing Thursday, how can they not try to hang 100?Kansas City at PittsburghPick: Steelers -5 and Over 53Overreactions are being served piping hot after Week 1, but I'm not sure calling the Chiefs' defense bad is an overreaction so much as a statement of fact.Philip Rivers threw for 424 yards and three touchdowns and would have had 500-plus and five if his receivers knew how to catch footballs. Kansas City's defense will likely make a more conscious effort to keep the ball in front of it this week, though Sunday's matchup is as difficult as Week 1's with Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster running amok in the secondary. The Chiefs' offense seems as if it'll have a racing pulse this season under second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Trading scores might become a weekly ritual with that excuse for a defense, but who's to say Kansas City isn't equipped for that possibility with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Kareem Hunt? We've gone over how travel this early in the season might affect a team's performance. The Chiefs fall into this situation and I'll be damned if Ben Roethlisberger and Co. don't have their way on offense after muddling through the rain last week.Extra PointsCleveland at New OrleansRecommended Pick: Under 49.5Well, I'd hope New Orleans shows a bit more effort than it did in Week 1.After being carved up by Ryan Fitzpatrick (have you heard he played his college ball at Harvard?), do we really expect the Saints to bend the knee to a team that nearly won its first game since Christmas Eve 2016 but ultimately crushed its fans' hearts with a tie?The rain in Cleveland last weekend made it tough to gauge the identity of the Browns' offense and how it plans to operate under new coordinator Todd Haley. There's still a lack of familiarity within the unit regardless: The offensive line from last weekend didn't get a single snap together during the preseason, and Josh Gordon, despite posing a threat to any secondary, is back after being away for an extended period of time during camp.Cleveland's offense should be fun this season. I'll call for that to start in, let's say, Week 3.Detroit at San FranciscoRecommended Pick: Over 48Detroit's defense remains non-existent, though if the Lions can just keep their play calls to themselves, they should be able to move the ball against the 49ers.Jimmy Garoppolo going from playing on the road at Minnesota to getting the Lions at home? I expect George Kittle to be streaking down the sideline for 67-yard gains all afternoon.Top plays: 2-0-1

Each week, we take a look at five last-minute additions for your fantasy team heading into NFL Sunday.Dante Pettis, WR, 49ersvs. LionsHannah Foslien / Getty Images Sport / GettyPettis remains largely unowned despite going for 61 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut against a tough Minnesota Vikings defense. The 44th pick in the 2018 draft should step into an even larger role against the Detroit Lions as veteran wideout Marquise Goodwin has been ruled out due to a quadriceps injury. Pettis outperformed starter Pierre Garcon on one fewer target in Week 1, and could enjoy even more success in a favorable matchup this weekend. The Lions allowed three pass plays of at least 20 yards against the New York Jets in Week 1, and both of Pettis' receptions went at least that distance, topping out at 39. The youngster could quickly assert himself as Jimmy Garoppolo's top playmaker.Martavis Bryant, WR, Raidersat BroncosJustin Berl / Getty Images Sport / GettyThe Raiders brought Bryant back into the fold following a Week 1 loss in which their wide receivers were led by Jordy Nelson's 23 yards. Only tight end Jared Cook had a reception longer than 17 yards.Head coach Jon Gruden said earlier this week that Bryant is fully healthy, and he believes the 26-year-old can help the passing attack. The Raiders face another tough matchup, but Bryant has averaged 15.2 yards per reception over his career and can help quarterback Derek Carr stretch the field. It was reported at the time of Bryant's release that he was facing another year-long suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy. He may not be an option for fantasy managers all year, but he can be used as a weekly lottery ticket until the ban is enforced.Sony Michel, RB, Patriotsat JaguarsJoe Robbins / Getty Images Sport / GettyMichel, the No. 31 overall pick in April's draft, missed Week 1 due to a knee injury. He was limited in practice again this week, but suggested Wednesday he was preparing to play, and then was listed as questionable on Friday.New England's injury-plagued backfield will be without Jeremy Hill for the remainder of the season, while Rex Burkhead suffered a concussion in the season opener and is also questionable for Week 2. At this point, James White is likely to remain the lead pass-catching back, but Michel could be thrust into a significant role on the ground in his debut.Mike Wallace, WR, Eaglesat BuccaneersBrett Carlsen / Getty Images Sport / GettyThe 32-year-old Wallace was a nonfactor in the Eagles' season-opening win over the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't have a catch and only drew three targets, even without No. 1 receiver Alshon Jeffery in the lineup.Quarterback Nick Foles told NBC Sports' Reuben Frank he wants to get the ball in Wallace's hands more often, and he'll have a chance to do so against a Buccaneers defense that surrendered 432 passing yards to the Saints in Week 1.Ryan Grant, WR, Coltsat RedskinsBobby Ellis / Getty Images Sport / GettyGrant had a strong start to his Colts tenure, catching eight of nine targets for 59 yards. He led the team in receptions and was just 1 yard shy of matching tight end Jack Doyle's total through the air.The fifth-year pro wasn't targeted in the red zone by quarterback Andrew Luck, but he caught seven of 10 looks from former Washington Redskins signal-caller Kirk Cousins inside the opponents' 20-yard line in 2017, showing he can be effective in the most important part of the field.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. New Orleans Saints defensive tackle David Onyemata came away from Week 1 with debt, as a pair of fines for roughing the passer topped the value of his game check.Onyemata, who makes a weekly salary of $37,059, was fined $40,108 combined for his two major fouls, according to ESPN's Michael Triplett. He was the only player slapped with multiple fines for Week 1 infractions.Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Onyemata can appeal the fines because they exceed 50 percent of his salary.Onyemata was a fourth-round pick of the Saints in 2016.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters had no problem accepting a $13,369 fine for grabbing his crotch while leaping into the end zone in Week 1 against the Oakland Raiders."Yeah, it's a lot of money," Peters told reporters Friday after practice, via ESPN's Lindsey Thiry. "But it was worth it."Peters made the gesture while returning a Derek Carr interception for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, sealing the victory for Los Angeles. The celebration was a tribute to Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch - a close friend of Peters - who once famously grabbed his crotch while soaring into the end zone as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Both Peters and Lynch hail from Oakland."It's all paying respect and loving the game," Peters said."Who knows if this (is) Marshawn's last year playing in the league," he added. "S---, we was up, closed the game out, no better way to go out in Oakland. Who knows the next time we'll get to play the Raiders in Oakland - they're going to Vegas in what, a year and a half? So it was something that was well-deserved for the hometown."Rams head coach Sean McVay also shrugged off the punishment handed to Peters by the NFL."He's got a close relationship with Marshawn," McVay said. "This was something that he had discussed with him before, if he was going to be able to make a play like that. So it was a good way for those guys to kind of have an inside joke, laugh about it, and I think it all was in fun and lighthearted."Peters had three tackles and the interception in his Rams debut. He was acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in a blockbuster trade in March.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

The Cincinnati Bengals fear starting running back Joe Mixon will need arthroscopic surgery to clean up his injured knee and could miss time, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.Mixon left Thursday's win over the Baltimore Ravens twice due to injury, but returned both times. He'll reportedly get a second opinion before any decision is made. The second-year rusher described his injury as "some weird tweak" following the game, via ESPN's Katherine Terrell.Mixon carried the ball 21 times against the Ravens, totaling 84 yards. The Green Bay Packers officially listed quarterback Aaron Rodgers as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Minnesota Vikings due to a knee injury suffered in the season opener, via The Athletic's Michael Cohen.Rodgers, who described the ailment as a sprain, hasn't practiced this week while rehabbing."Tomorrow's practice will be a pretty big indicator," head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "So we'll see how today goes, but nothing has changed. He's clearly in the day to day. Hopefully, he'll be able to do work tomorrow."Rodgers has appeared optimistic throughout the week that he'll be healthy enough to play in the Week 2 contest. However, McCarthy cautioned Thursday that the gunslinger's availability is "no layup.""He could play with no reps," McCarthy added Friday in his final session of the week with reporters. "We've established that point some time ago in his career. So I think it's no different. You'd like to walk off the field Saturday and have your plan set, but this is the National Football League, things happen. Guys get sick on Saturday, too. That's all part of our process where we work the practice-squad guys in and everything. So we'll be ready for anything, but I know he wants to play. So we'll see how it goes."Last season, Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone in his lone meeting with the Vikings.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota will be available to play Sunday against the Houston Texans, but that apparently won't stop backup Blaine Gabbert from getting on the field.Head coach Mike Vrabel said Friday that he anticipates a scenario in which both quarterbacks will likely play in Week 2, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.Mariota left the Titans' season opener against the Miami Dolphins due to an elbow injury after completing nine of 16 passes for 103 yards and two interceptions. Gabbert, who's on his fourth NFL team, entered in relief and completed 11 of 22 attempts for 117 yards and one interception.Related: Titans-Dolphins sets NFL record for longest game after 4 hours of delaysThe Titans announced Friday that both starting offensive tackles Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin won't play Sunday.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Atlanta Falcons will be without starting running back Devonta Freeman for Sunday's home opener against the Carolina Panthers.Head coach Dan Quinn announced Friday that Freeman's been ruled out due to a knee injury, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter. However, Quinn doesn't believe Freeman's injury will keep him out long term.Freeman suffered the injury late in the Falcons' season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 26-year-old had six carries for 36 yards and three receptions for 14 yards in the contest.No. 2 back Tevin Coleman is expected to carry most of the load out of the backfield against the Panthers. He rushed for 19 yards on nine carries, scoring the Falcons' lone touchdown last week. His night also included a 26-yard reception.Fourth-round rookie Ito Smith is expected to serve as Coleman's backup.Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Hopefully, you listened, since he threw for 261 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in a disappointing outing. Things will be much easier for Jimmy G in Week 2 as the 49ers host a Lions team traveling cross-country on a short week. Marquise Goodwin's availability remains in question, but San Francisco has more than enough talent to take advantage of a Detroit defense that was embarrassed by the Jets.Boone's projection: 301 passing yards, 3 TDsOther QBs to start
