Miami Dolphins wide receiver Will Fuller is expected to miss multiple weeks after breaking a finger Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.Fuller exited Sunday's contest with a hand injury after attempting to catch a pass in the first half. He did not return. The Dolphins signed the 27-year-old in the offseason to boost their receiving group, but Fuller has only played in two games thus far. He was suspended for Miami's season opener and missed Week 2 for personal reasons.Selected by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2016 draft, Fuller has caught four passes for 26 yards this year.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Washington Football Team tight end Logan Thomas and guard Brandon Scherff will both miss time after suffering lower-body injuries in Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Thomas limped off the field after the opening drive of Washington's 34-30 win and was eventually ruled out with a hamstring injury. The 30-year-old is reportedly week-to-week with the ailment. He has 12 receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns this season.Scherff - a Pro Bowler who has spent his entire career with Washington - reportedly suffered an MCL sprain during a field-goal attempt in the third quarter. The 29-year-old will likely miss two-to-three weeks, reports Schefter.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Sunday Rundown recaps the most important developments from the day's action and examines the significance of them moving forward. The NFL's best team might be ... the Cardinals? Harry How / Getty Images Sport / GettyOK, it's only been four games, but the Arizona Cardinals are making a strong case that they deserve to be taken seriously. The Cardinals have scored at least 31 points in every game, they stifled the Tennessee Titans at full strength, and now they've gone into L.A. and completely worked over the Sean McVay-Matthew Stafford-Aaron Donald-Jalen Ramsey Rams.Quarterback Kyler Murray completed 75% of his passes, totaled 307 yards passing and rushing, and put up a terrific EPA/dropback of 0.43. He also didn't turn the ball over. Murray can consistently make plays after the pocket breaks down, and he's entertaining as hell when he does it.The Cardinals also converted eight of their first 12 third downs despite averaging 7.9 yards to go in those situations. Chase Edmonds and James Conner combined to rush for 170 yards. Arizona had four drives of 75 yards or more. This is an offense that isn't easy to stop, and it's safe to say that's no fluke nearly a quarter of the way into the season. But the Cardinals' defense also put the clamps on a Rams offense that had looked completely unstoppable with Stafford at the controls. Stafford wasn't sacked, but he was hit five times, and he was off-target all afternoon. The Cardinals have the San Francisco 49ers at home next week before going to Cleveland to face the Browns. But right now, they're all alone in first place in the league's best division with a road win against the Rams that might matter come January. Pretty dang good. What about Mac Jones?Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earned the win during Brady's big homecoming night. But Mac Jones proved a little bit of something for the New England Patriots, though the signal-caller's performance also showed some of his limitations. The Bucs' banged-up defense came after Jones, blitzing him on 47.7% of his dropbacks, according to Next Gen Stats. Tampa Bay's defense entered the game leading the league with a blitz percentage of 40.4, according to Pro Football Reference, so a lot of extra pass-rushers were pressuring Jones on Sunday. He nonetheless managed to go 31-of-40 passing for 275 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the pouring rain. Jones even connected on 19 consecutive throws at one point. He marched the Patriots 66 yards to take the lead with 4:34 left, and the rookie put them in position for Nick Folk to win the game with a 56-yard field-goal attempt, but the ball clanged off the left upright. Jones did that even as the Patriots attempted just eight rushes all night for minus-1 yards. He didn't make many mistakes during what was undoubtedly a pressure-cooker moment, but Jones also didn't take many chances while finishing with an EPA/dropback of just 0.01.Few of his 40 throws covered 10-plus yards through the air. Here's what his passing chart looked like:

The Las Vegas Raiders will attempt to be one of just two teams to remain undefeated through four weeks when they visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night to close out Week 4.Here's how we're betting Raiders-Chargers.C Jackson Cowart: Waller over 67.5 receiving yardsThe Raiders' passing offense has been the NFL's most prolific through three weeks, and Darren Waller is a key reason why. The 6-foot-6 tight end is averaging 74.5 receiving yards on 11 targets per game this year, and he's tallied 75-plus yards in six of his last eight games dating back to last season.Travis Kelce gashed the Chargers' defense for 104 yards in Week 3, and the unit has been among the least effective against TEs this season. Las Vegas' game plan should feature Waller early and often on Monday.Alex Moretto: Allen over 6.5 receptions (-130)I want no part of the side here because the Raiders are due to regress and the Chargers are in for a letdown after winning at Arrowhead. I don't mind the over, but I'm dipping into the player prop market instead.Mike Williams has snatched the headlines this season amid his hot start, but Keenan Allen is quietly putting together an excellent first three weeks. His route tree is so impressive, but the underneath work he excels at will be key here. The Raiders struggle to cover similar receivers, allowing nine catches for 105 yards to Diontae Johnson and 12 grabs for 58 yards to Jaylen Waddle. Meanwhile, Chase Claypool and DeVante Parker - who more closely resemble Williams - combined for seven receptions.Allen will be deployed all over the field to keep the defense off-balance in a game that should feature a nice pace, as the Raiders and Chargers are first and seventh, respectively, in plays per game. He posted nine catches for 103 yards and a touchdown in Los Angeles last season, and with 33 targets already through three games, Allen's reception total of 6.5 is simply too conservative.Matt Russell: Over 51.5A Raiders moneyline ticket is already in our pocket, but the value has since been sucked out of the line. Instead, let's turn our attention to the total and try to get in on the prime-time overs trend.Even in their wins, the Chargers left a ton of points on the board by taking foolish procedure penalties. There are plenty of scoring opportunities sitting there for Justin Herbert to capitalize on with very little extra effort. The Raiders' defense has improved, but it was at a rock-bottom level last season. A decent showing from the unit could still result in 30 points for the Chargers.Meanwhile, for all its talent and the turnovers the Chargers' defense creates, it still gives up chunk yards, and the Raiders have been successful against Los Angeles recently. Las Vegas has scored 24, 26, 31, and 27 points over its last four meetings against the Chargers, and this is the best Raiders offense during the second Gruden era. Look for both teams to flirt with the 30s.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

The San Francisco 49ers played the second half of Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with rookie quarterback Trey Lance under center as a replacement for Jimmy Garoppolo, who suffered a calf injury.San Francisco listed Garoppolo, who didn't miss any snaps in the first half, as questionable prior to the third quarter, but he didn't reenter the game. He went 14-of-23 passing for 165 yards and one touchdown against one interception before being sidelined.Lance took over with the game tied 7-7, and he finished with 157 yards and two touchdowns on 9-of-18 passing. He also amassed 41 yards on seven rushing attempts.Garoppolo said postgame he hopes the injury will sideline him for "just a couple weeks," according to David Lombardi of The Athletic. He added he'll undergo an MRI on Monday. The third overall pick this past April had only logged situational appearances this season. He tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass in Week 1 and added a rushing score in Week 3.Meanwhile, Garoppolo entered Week 4 with a 67.4 completion percentage and 760 passing yards with four touchdowns against one interception through three games. Both the 49ers and Seahawks are now 2-2 four weeks into the 2021 season.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery exited Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions due to a knee injury and did not return.Montgomery went down and grabbed his left knee late in the game before heading to the locker room. Chicago officially ruled him out shortly after. The third-year tailback will have an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity of the ailment, but the initial belief is that he avoided a major injury, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 24-year-old put together an impressive performance before the injury, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns. His two scores helped lead Chicago to a 24-14 victory over its NFC North foes.Montgomery, a 2019 third-round pick, entered Week 4 with 203 yards on the ground. He recorded his first 1,000-plus-yard rushing season last year while also adding 438 receiving yards.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Rob Gronkowski's injury is more serious than initially reported, as he has four cracked ribs, one broken rib, and a punctured lung, he revealed to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end was reported to be dealing with multiple fractured ribs following an MRI and CT scan. He finished a Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams after briefly leaving the game for X-rays.Gronkowski didn't make the trip to New England for what would have been a homecoming of sorts. Gronkowski spent his first nine seasons with the Patriots and was one of the most popular players in franchise history before retiring. He ended his retirement after one season, returning to the NFL with Tampa Bay.The Buccaneers ruled out Gronkowski on Saturday after listing him as doubtful on the final injury report this week. He was sacked nine times and completed just six passes for 68 yards and zero touchdowns.Nick Foles will likely back up Fields with Dalton ailing.Head coach Matt Nagy previously said that Dalton, who joined the Bears as a free agent in the offseason and was under center for the first two games, will return to the starting lineup when healthy.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will play in Sunday's contest against the Cleveland Browns, he told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The star rusher was officially made active for the Week 4 matchup. He missed last week's game against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury.Cook was unable to practice last week due to the ailment. He's managed limited participation this week and is officially listed as questionable. The Browns currently own the league's fifth-best run defense, allowing 201 yards on the ground in three games and just 3.1 yards per carry. In his absence last week, backup Alexander Mattison carried the ball 26 times for 112 yards in a 30-17 victory.Cook is coming off a 131-yard performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.The 26-year-old finished second in the league in rushing last season with 1,557 yards in 14 games.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The storylines for the season's most anticipated Sunday Night Football game so far are endless, and by now, you've probably read extensively about all of them.So instead of another summary, let's dive straight into how we're betting Bucs-Pats:C Jackson Cowart: Patriots team total under 20With everyone focused on Tom Brady's return to the franchise where he spent the first 20 years of his career, it seems like we've entirely forgotten about the matchup on the other side of the ball - one that heavily favors Brady's new squad.Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, who has spent all week fielding questions about his organization's longtime QB, is fittingly coming off the worst game of his professional career. The rookie threw three picks against the Saints (he had three total in his final year at Alabama) and has led his team on just four touchdown drives through three games. The Buccaneers defense surrendered 20-plus points in each of the first three weeks but has consistently faced offenses with more firepower than what New England can offer, especially with pass-catching savant James White out for the campaign. Don't expect the Pats' new passer to steal the spotlight against the GOAT.Alex Moretto: Under 49.5The chess match between Brady and Bill Belichick will be fascinating here. Tampa Bay might have gotten caught looking ahead last week, but that doesn't mean we should expect fireworks from this offense against a very well-coached New England defense. The Bucs have had a miserable time trying to run the ball this season and will also be without key blocker and receiving outlet Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots rank fifth in yards per play allowed, while Tampa Bay ranks near the median in yards per pass and near the bottom of the league in yards per rush. This offensive unit will have to work for its opportunities, especially with Belichick implementing a few wrinkles for Brady's return to Gillette.New England will need its defense to come up big because points won't come easy on offense. It's all about the rushing attack for them, but no one runs on the Bucs. And with the Pats' pass offense still looking to get into a rhythm, don't expect an air raid here, even if Tampa's secondary has been vulnerable. This is going to be a defensive battle that comes down to which unit can make plays when it counts: Brady's offense or Belichick's defense?Matt Russell: Patriots +7The Sunday night chase game for bettors is the most basic of betting angles when the world is on one side, and that's certainly the case here with everyone rushing to back the Buccaneers. So how does New England hang in with the champs? Fundamentally, if the Falcons can keep it within a field goal through three quarters in Tampa, the Patriots certainly can. From there, New England may opt not to throw multiple pick-sixes. More specifically, the Bucs offense may struggle to create short third downs with a minimally existent run game - plus third downs will be more difficult without Gronkowski. On offense, Jones' stats against New Orleans looked a lot worse than what he deserved if you actually watched the interceptions. Josh McDaniels will put him in position to succeed against a Tampa secondary that's got some injury-related holes in it.With the betting universe backing the Bucs and the Patriots known for surprising in an underdog role, this is a bet we have to make. The only question is whether or not we can get +7.5 by game time.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

The Kansas City Chiefs could promote Josh Gordon to the active roster in Week 5 since he's made a strong impression with the team, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. The wideout, whom the league recently reinstated, signed with the Chiefs' practice squad last week. Coach Andy Reid previously said he was unsure when Gordon would hit the field but noted the club would see "how it goes over the next week or two."Kansas City was planning to activate Gordon once his conditioning and understanding of the team's playbook were optimal. The 30-year-old, who hasn't played in an NFL game since 2019, was suspended for the entire 2020 campaign.Gordon has struggled to stay on the field since leading the league with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013, earning six suspensions since then. The one-time Pro Bowler split time with the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks in 2019 but recorded just 27 receptions for 426 yards. The Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday before facing the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. The New England Patriots plan to only pause the game and not stop it completely if Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady breaks the all-time passing record Sunday night, a team official reportedly told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Brady's former team is expected to "briefly acknowledge" Brady, who needs just 68 yards to set the record, if he reaches the milestone, Schefter adds. The act will fail to match the celebration that former quarterback Drew Brees received when he became the all-time passing leader in 2018, Schefter notes. Brees' family joined him on the field and Hall of Fame president David Baker came to receive the football as the game was stopped completely. However, the Saints were playing at home, while Brady will be on the road.Sunday's night bout will be Brady's first time returning to Foxborough since he left the Patriots in 2020. The 44-year-old elevated the franchise into almost mythical status during his 20-year tenure, winning six Super Bowls and earning 17 playoff appearances. The buildup to the clash between Brady and former coach Bill Belichick was spiced up after a report emerged this week claiming Belichick rejected his former signal-caller's request to meet in person to say goodbye in 2020. While Belichick denied the claim, Brady later confirmed the farewell was conducted over the phone, though he added the departure was handled "perfectly" by all parties.Brady is continuing to add to his legacy with his new club. Rob Gronkowski will have to wait a bit longer to make his much-anticipated return to Gillette Stadium to face the New England Patriots. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end didn't travel to Foxborough, Massachusetts on Saturday, ruling him out for Sunday's clash, the team announced.Gronkowski injured his ribs during last week's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. His initial X-rays reportedly came back negative, but additional MRIs showed the five-time Pro Bowler fractured multiple ribs and could remain sidelined for more than one week, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians said Friday morning Gronkowski would be a game-time decision, but the Buccaneers listed him as doubtful on their injury report later that day.Gronkowski leads Tampa Bay with four touchdown catches this season. He's also racked up 16 receptions for 184 yards through three appearances. The 32-year-old, who spent his first nine NFL seasons with the Patriots, has battled multiple injuries throughout his career, and he cited those ailments among the reasons for his eventual one-year retirement in 2019. He played in all 16 regular-season games in his first year with the Buccaneers in 2020, finishing the campaign with 623 yards and seven touchdowns on 43 receptions.Tampa Bay has one of the NFL's deepest receiving corps, while Gronkowski's absence could increase O.J. A profitable 8-3 week gives our player props a shot of life. The information is piling up on what these teams do well, and how they do it, which makes our lives a little easier after wearing a blindfold early in the season.Chuba Hubbard over 54.5 rush yardsThe Cowboys' run defense got the night off Monday, which was a bizarre turn of events from the Eagles' coaching staff, which left Miles Sanders out of the offensive game plan. Sanders received just two carries, scampering for 27 yards.Considering both of the Cowboys' previous opponents didn't run the football, I'm not scared off by the Dallas run defense. Hubbard will get the carries with Christian McCaffrey out, and 15 totes should push this over, with the possibility of the former track star cracking a big run.As an aside, there's no yardage prop available yet for a Panthers tight end, but Carolina just dealt Dan Arnold to Jacksonville. They've decided they have a suitable replacement in former Notre Dame tight end, Tommy Tremble. If you can find a prop on Tremble, bet on his success - either an over or an anytime TD +400.David Montgomery under 72.5 rush yardsIn 2021, many teams will allow some room to run as an alternative to having an offense throw on them at will. We saw this in Week 1 as David Montgomery was able to go for 108 yards against the Rams. Dan Campbell's Lions don't have the same attitude. They want to fight you in the trenches and out-tough you. I expect a defensive game plan from the Lions, designed to force whoever starts for the Bears at quarterback to beat them.Stefon Diggs over 83.5 receiving yards Diggs hasn't had a massive game yet this season. The Bills aren't likely to just sit on a lead - it's not their style - so Josh Allen will be throwing early and often here, and there's no one on the Texans capable of doing much about it.Jaylen Waddle over 3.5 receptionsJacoby Brissett made it clear who he trusts last week. We thought Mike Gesicki would be one of those, and we were right. This week, I'll shift gears to Jaylen Waddle, who caught 12 balls, but many were short targets. So let's stick with receptions instead of yards as our over here.Miles Sanders over 59.5 rush yardsI hope Nick Sirianni and Shane Steichen flipped on the game film against the Cowboys at some point and thought to themselves: "wait, where's Miles?" If that's the case, they have some making up to do with his usage against a Chiefs team that's been flat-out terrible at stopping the run.Daniel Jones over 22.5 rush yardsLet's get speedy Daniel Jones out on the fast track of Mercedes-Benz Stadium! The Saints' defense has only given up 60 yards per game on the ground, against teams that actually want to run: Packers, Panthers, and Patriots. This should make life difficult for Saquon Barkley, but none of those teams brought the dual-threat element. Between scrambles and designed runs, Jones will clear this number.Corey Davis over 51.5 receiving yardsDavis has had a rough go the last two weeks with Zach Wilson tortured by Bill Belichick's and Vic Fangio's defense. This week, he's going up against a Titans secondary that is 23rd in yards per attempt against. Davis will see more success, similar to Week 1 when he had 98 yards and two touchdowns.Kyle Pitts over 48.5 receiving yardsWe're just going to do this all year. Back to 1-2 on our guy Pittsy after last week, Matt Ryan will be panic-throwing to his tight end while the Washington Football Team blows by the Falcons' offensive line. Pitts could crack a decent run after the catch, and like in Week 2, clear the 50 mark.Teddy Bridgewater under 243.5 passing yardsWhether it was turnovers or three-and-outs, the Broncos have been handed the ball a lot - often times very quickly. The Ravens' offense will have more success sustaining drives, which means less opportunity for Bridgewater. Add in that his deep threat K.J. Hamler is out, and the likelihood of a chunk play through the air is reduced.A.J. Green over 39.5 receiving yardsDeAndre Hopkins vs. Jalen Ramsey is a matchup worth the price of admission, and both will have their moments. Meanwhile, A.J. Green found some rapport with Kyler Murray last week, going for 112 yards against Jacksonville. As a second option, who Murray may turn to while running away from Aaron Donald, 39.5 feels low here.Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. If there’s a bad beat to be had, Matt will find it. Jamie Kohl first noticed something different about Justin Tucker around 10 years ago, back when Tucker was still in college at Texas. It happened at one of Kohl's kicking camps.Tucker had talent, yes. But he made an even bigger impression on Kohl - a former college kicker who now serves as a kicking consultant for the Chicago Bears - with his competitiveness. During a game that rewarded points based on the distance of made field goals, Tucker made it obvious he was there to challenge Florida State's Dustin Hopkins, one of the nation's best college kickers at the time who now plays for the Washington Football Team."He basically was doing a Florida State tomahawk war chant every time Dustin kicked," Kohl told theScore. "They didn't know each other."Kohl remains struck by Tucker's confidence that day. Tucker, he said, displayed a steely drive to succeed and didn't care what anyone else might think about him. Kohl stressed he doesn't think every young kicker needs to be so outward and forthright. He also made it clear Tucker isn't some over-the-top, maniacal competitor. But he saw something of an "it" factor from Tucker, and he thinks it's essential to what makes him the player he is today.“That’s not normal," said Kohl. "That’s a gift in the position he plays.”Now in his 10th season with the Baltimore Ravens, Tucker plays the position of placekicker better than anyone currently in the NFL. His remarkable game-winning field goal last Sunday to defeat the Detroit Lions - a 66-yarder that broke the league record by 2 yards - was simply a resounding reminder of that fact.“Frankly, when he went out - I don’t think I’d bet my boat - but I’d bet on him to make it,” former longtime NFL special teams coach Mike Westhoff told theScore. That's because there's so much to marvel at:

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Za'Darius Smith underwent back surgery and is expected to miss several more weeks, sources told Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.Smith went on injured reserve in Week 2 with the expectation that his absence would be relatively short. Now, the Packers reportedly hope Smith can get back in the lineup before the end of the season.Smith led the Packers in sacks in 2019 and 2020 and earned a pair of Pro Bowl nods for his efforts. He was slowed by a back injury throughout training camp this year and never appeared close to 100% healthy before the Packers deactivated him.Green Bay's pass rush has struggled to get home without Smith. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers listed tight end Rob Gronkowski as doubtful for his return to New England on Sunday as he deals with injured ribs.Earlier, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said the former Patriots star will be a game-time decision. Gronkowski missed practice all week after injuring his ribs in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. X-rays reportedly came back negative.Gronkowski played in Foxborough from 2010-18, winning three Super Bowls and catching a franchise-record 79 touchdowns. The future Hall of Famer joined the Buccaneers in 2020 after a one-year retirement and has never played at Gillette Stadium as a member of the opposing team.Gronkowski got off to a strong start this year, notching 184 yards and four touchdowns over the first three contests. O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate are candidates to take his spot in the starting lineup. The Buccaneers listed defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul as questionable with a shoulder injury, but Arians said he'll also be a game-time call. The Buccaneers-Patriots game is expected to be one of the most-watched ever, as it marks Tom Brady's return to New England, where he played 20 seasons and won six Super Bowls.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Richard Sherman will be active Sunday night against the New England Patriots, Bruce Arians announced Friday, according to The Athletic's Greg Auman. However, his playing time remains unclear.Sherman, who signed a one-year deal with the Bucs on Wednesday, previously said he'd benefit from a week of ramping up his practice participation before playing, but the five-time Pro Bowler would be ready if needed. However, the veteran will be active after cornerback Jamel Dean was ruled out.Meanwhile, Rob Gronkowski and Jason Pierre-Paul will be game-time decisions, Arians added. Gronkowski is nursing a rib injury after taking a big hit in Week 3, while Pierre-Paul is recovering from a shoulder issue that sidelined him last Sunday.Gronkowski practiced Friday for the first time this week, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. Pierre-Paul also took part for the first time since Sept. 15.The Buccaneers will be without running back Giovani Bernard due to a knee injury as well. The prime-time game against the Patriots will be the first time playing in New England for Gronkowski and Tom Brady since they departed in 2020.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. Coach Matt Nagy said the Chicago Bears' Week 4 starting quarterback will be a game-time decision, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.Bears signal-caller Andy Dalton is listed as questionable to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions with a lingering knee injury.Dalton, who is dealing with a bone bruise in his right knee, said "I feel really good where I'm at," according to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs. The 33-year-old passer sat out the Bears' 26-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.Rookie Justin Fields received his first career starting nod against the Browns. The 22-year-old signal-caller struggled to produce any productivity after getting sacked nine times. He ended with six passes for 68 yards and zero touchdowns.Fields had been dealing with an injured thumb throughout the week, but was not listed on the Bears' final injury report."He's going to have a lot of different games in his career, and that one was a rough one. The Tennessee Titans will try to win their third straight game Sunday without two top wide receivers.Head coach Mike Vrabel ruled out Julio Jones and A.J. Brown for Tennessee's Week 4 clash with the New York Jets due to hamstring injuries. Both pass-catchers sustained the injuries during last week's win over the Indianapolis Colts. Brown left the game early in the first quarter and didn't return, while Jones was sidelined through most of the second half.Jones wasn't listed on the Titans' injury report prior to the game, and Vrabel suggested that the decision to not play him for most of the second half was due to workload management.Tennessee put together one of the NFL's top receiving duos this offseason after trading for Jones and lining him up with Brown, but the pair has started slow. Jones has caught 12 passes for 204 yards through three appearances, while Brown has amassed 92 yards and one touchdown on seven receptions.Nick Westbrook-Ikhine stepped up at wide receiver for the Titans last week against the Colts, racking up four catches for 53 yards and one score. Tennessee's wideout depth chart also features Josh Reynolds, Chester Rogers, and Cameron Batson, among others. The Titans, who rank third in rushing attempts in 2021, should continue to heavily rely on their running game against the Jets. All-Pro running back Derrick Henry currently leads the league with 353 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The Titans also ruled out linebacker Bud Dupree for Week 4 on Friday due to a knee injury.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. We finally enjoyed a healthy slate of QB play but were saddled with a 1-2 record last week to bring our season-long total to 5-4. I guess a healthy Justin Fields isn't much of an upgrade over generic starters, huh?I've learned my lesson about those pesky Bears and have three games in my sights ahead of an intriguing Week 4 slate:Panthers @ Cowboys (-4.5, 52), 1 p.m. ETThe Panthers were my ride-or-die team coming into the season, as I felt they were undervalued in just about every market. Sure enough, I've ridden this young group to three straight wins against the spread, and I don't see any reason to back down here.Carolina's defense ranks first in yards allowed (191 per game) and has surrendered a grand total of 30 points through three weeks. Yes, the competition has been mixed, but this talent-rich defense has shown an ability to harass opposing quarterbacks - leading the NFL in pressure rate (44.2%) and hurry rate (18.3%) under second-year coordinator Phil Snow. The Panthers' offense takes a hit without Christian McCaffrey, but I trust Joe Brady to scheme up an offense similar to what Carolina ran last year in his absence, especially with extra time to prepare. Speaking of which: since 2015, teams coming off a Thursday game are 14-4-2 ATS against teams coming off a Monday night game, as the Cowboys are this week. This game probably shouldn't have been scheduled, but I'll gladly bet it, anyway.Pick: Panthers +4.5Colts @ Dolphins (-2, 42.5), 1 p.m.The Dolphins have been mainstays in our weekly best bets, though QB health has been a factor working against us. This week, it's in our favor, as the Colts will likely trot out injured starter Carson Wentz following one of the worst games of his career. The longtime Eagles starter threw for fewer than 200 passing yards despite slinging it 37 times - only the second time that's happened in his career. It was also just the second time in 71 career starts where he's finished a game with zero rushing attempts, which is a clear indication the oft-mobile quarterback simply isn't himself after spraining both of his ankles the week before.Miami boasts the second-highest blitz rate (18.3%) through three weeks and has five more QB knockdowns (21) than the next-best club. This is a defense that will get after Wentz and force him to escape pressure behind the Colts' reeling O-line, which simply isn't a path to success for the recovering QB.Pick: Dolphins -2Ravens (-1, 44.5) @ Broncos, 4:25 p.m.When this game first opened at Broncos -1.5, I had a feeling the perception of these two teams would nudge this line across zero and into Ravens' territory. Sure enough, bettors are buying Baltimore as short road chalk, and I'm happy to play contrarian in a game that never should have flipped sides.Lamar Jackson's weakness in recent years has been rangy defenses that can chase him sideline-to-sideline and play him honest in the passing game. That's a manageable task for Denver, which has smothered opposing offenses to the tune of 8.7 points per game behind one of the best - and most versatile - secondaries in the league. Both of these teams are banged up entering this game, but we've seen a depleted Broncos team bludgeon opponents thus far, while Baltimore needed a miracle to beat the lowly Lions a week ago. Teddy Bridgewater has been arguably the NFL's best passer against the blitz this year; he'll make enough plays against the blitz-happy Ravens to help his defense close this one out.Pick: Broncos +1C Jackson Cowart is a sports betting writer at theScore. Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Friday.Cook, who missed Minnesota's win over the Seattle Seahawks last week due to an ankle injury, was limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday. The two-time Pro Bowler started the season hot before being sidelined. He racked up 192 yards (4.6 per carry) and one touchdown on the ground through the first two games. Alexander Mattison replaced Cook against the Seahawks and enjoyed a career day with 171 scrimmage yards.Cook would be a crucial weapon for the Vikings against the Browns, who've allowed only 67 rushing yards per game in 2021, the fifth-best mark in the NFL.Minnesota also listed star linebacker Anthony Barr as questionable Friday. "I mean no disrespect, but you have to make your own. We don't look at it that way. I've said this from Day 1: The core of this team has good players. We're getting better each week. By its very nature, this column is binary. The Upset of the Week either wins or loses. That's how sports work. So when the Dolphins lost to the Raiders in overtime, we took our first loss and fell to 2-1. You know better, though, as a burgeoning sports betting sharp. A +170 winner in Week 1 and a +210 winner in Week 2 means we still sit 2.8 units to the good. Not to mention that all of our pups have covered the spread.Does that mean we can get a little loose in Week 4? We can, in this case, but not by choice. You know the rules: it's got to be a team with longer than +150 odds and usually a squad that's more than a 3.5-point underdog. The 4.5-point underdogs of Carolina and Arizona are tempting, but we're going next level this week.Ladies and gentlemen, here come your 2021 New York Jets!Let's start our case for victory on offense, which has been truly offensive this season. Zach Wilson suffered three full weeks of "Welcome to the NFL" moments against the best defenses in the league. It might be a chicken-and-the-egg situation for the Panthers' defense - are they good because they shut down the Jets (and Saints, and Texans), or did they shut down New York because they're good? Whatever the case, Carolina's talent on all three levels wasn't fun for a quarterback debuting.Next up was a Bill Belichick defense that's eaten rookie quarterbacks alive for decades. Not literally, that's against the rules.Last week, the Denver Broncos shutout our hapless future heroes. While there may not be another shutout in the NFL this season, this was a mismatch you could see coming, with Denver loaded on all three levels.Up next for the Jets is the Titans, and their defense isn't as solid. Tennessee ranks 15th in yards per game, but that's about as misleading as it gets. The Colts went to Nashville last weekend for a must-win contest and started a quarterback who had the maximum amount of sprained ankles a human can have.It went as well as you'd expect. Carson Wentz lumbered around as Indy managed just 267 yards, cosmetically altering the Titans' defensive yards per game average down to 359.Maybe Wilson and the Jets' offense will consistently perform as though the quarterback has two sprained ankles. But at the very least, when compared to the units they've played already, the Titans' defense might make Wilson feel like he's back at BYU, facing the likes of Utah State. There's no shutdown corner for Tennessee to stick on Corey Davis, so he may be able to get loose in the same way he did in Week 1. The Titans' 20th-ranked rush defense will also provide more room for Michael Carter to run than he had against his first three opponents, who all rank in the top-five for stingiest run defenses. On the other side of the ball, it starts with Tennessee's weapons, or potential lack thereof. A.J. Brown is week-to-week, which isn't a designation you get when you're ready THIS week. Julio Jones is questionable as well. If they're both out, that's a far less dangerous offense for New York to handle. As convincing as the losses have been, given the Jets haven't even covered yet, the defense has actually allowed the 11th-fewest yards this season. Christian McCaffrey is the only running back to rush for more than four yards per carry. Perhaps, against a pass offense without its top two outside threats, New York can load up on Derrick Henry with less fear of being burned by Ryan Tannehill. Finally, maybe he misses his old offensive coordinator, but the Titans quarterback hasn't been his 2020 self this young season. Tannehill's 87.7 passer rating and 7.4 yards per attempt rank 23rd and 21st, respectively, against the eighth, 20th, and 28th best pass defenses by yards per attempt. How would those numbers look if Tennessee faced the same defenses New York encountered? No one is saying the Jets are better than the Titans, but this early in the season, as bad as it's looked for New York, it might not be that bad. Meanwhile, Tennessee is a bit overrated, taking advantage of a lousy division. After a key win over their most likely AFC South competition, the Titans are in a bit of a letdown spot Sunday.Pick: Jets +280Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. The mood among Seattle Seahawks players is "real serious" following a pair of shocking losses, head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday."We're trying to tune everything in every time, forever, but I think there's a little bit of a different feel about it," Carroll told reporters. "They want to prove it. They want to prove that we're on the right track and we're going to go win a bunch of games."The Seahawks have struggled defensively in the early going, ranking last in the NFL in yards allowed through three weeks. They blew a 15-point lead to the Tennessee Titans before falling in overtime in Week 2, and allowed Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins to have one of the most efficient performances of his career in Week 3.After losing to the Vikings, Seahawks cornerback Tre Flowers expressed frustration with how he's been used. He also said other defenders have been confused about how they're supposed to guard certain routes.All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner spoke to everyone on the defense after the Vikings game, and said "we're all on the same page."Carroll acknowledged he talked to cornerback Richard Sherman about a reunion to bolster his secondary before the season, but a deal never materialized. San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan isn't interested in expanding Trey Lance's role significantly, if at all."Trey's our backup quarterback," Shanahan said Wednesday, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows. "This isn't the preseason. We're not just going back and forth all the time. Trey goes in for specific plays or things we want to do. Trey, week in and week out, he gets better each week the more reps he gets on scout team."The 49ers alternated between Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo for part of the exhibition slate, but Garoppolo has handled nearly the entire workload in the regular season.Lance threw his only pass of the campaign in Week 1 - a five-yard touchdown - and has tallied just four rushes through the first three contests. The 21-year-old came to the Bay Area with much fanfare after the 49ers traded three first-round picks earlier this year to move up the draft board and eventually select Lance third overall.Garoppolo has thrown for 760 yards with four touchdowns and one interception on the season while leading San Francisco to a 2-1 record. He's struggled to throw deep and navigate pressure, though, continuing a pattern that has followed him throughout his 49ers tenure."There's not a quarterback battle right now," Shanahan said. "We're going with our starting quarterback, who I think is playing very well. I'm happy that he is, so Trey isn't thrown into these situations too early."The 49ers are coming off their first loss of the year - a 30-28 defeat to the Green Bay Packers in which their offense looked flat out of the gate. They face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4, marking the start of the divisional portion of their schedule.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. After suffering through Panthers-Texans, football fans will be rewarded with this week's thrilling matchup of ... Jaguars-Bengals.It might be ugly, but you better believe we're betting it. Here's what we like for the latest edition of Thursday Night Football:C Jackson Cowart: Bengals -7.5I tend to avoid laying a touchdown on a team unless I know they're good - novel concept, I know - and I'm not there yet with the Bengals. That said, the Jaguars might be the worst team in the league, and that's enough for me to play the favorites here.Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence has turned the ball over a whopping nine times through three games - more than any NFL team - as his aggressiveness has outpaced the talent around him. Cincinnati's defense made Justin Fields and Ben Roethlisberger look silly in consecutive weeks and should have no trouble baiting the rookie into a handful of ill-advised throws, especially after a short week of preparation. My biggest preseason concern about the Bengals was their offensive line. But it's surprisingly held up so far this season, posting an above-average pass-block win rate (59%). That's allowed Joe Burrow to sling it downfield, which is what made him so effective at LSU. I don't love laying the big number, but this is a clear mismatch; I'll hold my nose and bet the better side.Alex Moretto: Over 45I've miraculously hit three straight prime-time best bets, taking my season record to 7-2. Either the levee is about to break, or we're never going to lose again. Who's to say?Prime-time overs have been very much a thing this season, and I'm expecting the trend to continue Thursday. Burrow is starting to find his rhythm after missing the final six weeks of last season with a torn ACL. He's thrown five touchdowns over his last five quarters, and the offensive line has been much improved. His connection with former LSU teammate Ja'Marr Chase has been an absolute treat to watch and a catalyst for this offense, which is also getting full value from Joe Mixon.Though the offense is rapidly improving, it still hasn't put together a full game. That changes this week against a Jaguars defense giving up points in bunches while allowing a hefty 6.1 yards per play. Get Burrow, Mixon, Chase, and Tyler Boyd into your fantasy lineups. The Bengals have looked terrific defensively, but the unit isn't nearly as stout as it appeared against the Steelers' and Bears' incompetent offenses. Expect a showing much closer to Cincinnati's Week 1 outing against the Vikings, who managed a strong 5.4 yards per play and went two-for-two in the red zone. Despite Urban Meyer's many deficiencies, this Jaguars offense has the talent to do its part to get us over this total.Matt Russell: Jaguars +7.5The Jaguars' offense has averaged 5.1 yards per play this season, while the Bengals - amidst the excitement of the Burrow-Chase connection - have been good for 5.3.The difference between these teams has been on the defensive side, where the Jaguars' average of 6.1 yards per play against is significantly worse than the Bengals' fifth-ranked mark of 4.5. Do the Bengals seem like a top-five defense to you?As mentioned above, Cincinnati gave up 5.4 yards per play to the Vikings, but easy matchups against the Bears and Steelers massaged its season averages quite nicely. My rating for the Bengals still has them on the wrong side of league average; as long as the Jaguars continue to show some improvement - which, believe it or not, they have - I can't get on board with a spread above a touchdown.Urban Meyer, meanwhile, seems to have discovered that James Robinson is on his roster. If he can continue to run the offense through Robinson, he may pull off the upset in his return to Ohio.Copyright © 2021 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Oh, what could have been. The Dolphins took a 14-0 lead against the Raiders, gave up the lead, rallied to force overtime, had the opportunity to secure the win - and came up short. As a result, we "only" hit four of five last week. Instead of contracting plans for an extension on the doubloon silo, we're settling for a modest overflow from our stash under the mattress. Our underdogs are now 11-4 on the season, with an OT loss, a missed chip shot at the last, and a Colts three-point loss to the Rams. We've covered a season's worth of football betting lottery tickets - and then some. But we're not done yet.How it worksWe parlay five underdogs together in 10 different three-team parlays. Using every combination of a three-team parlay is called a round robin, so we're going to use 1.1 units to make 11 different bets: 10 three-team parlays and one five-team parlay. If three teams pull the upset, you'll likely double your money. If four teams win, you're connecting on four separate parlays and will be very pleased with the return. If all five teams win? We go swimming in gold doubloons like heirs to the McDuck fortune.Unfortunately, it only gets more difficult from here. The more games teams play, the more oddsmakers adjust, and the fewer opportunities for a live underdog remain. Eventually, the ones that do present themselves are downright gross.Who to playNew York Giants +300Case in point, we might as well get this one out of the way first. The Saints got a fair number of bounces in last week's road win against the Patriots, including a pick-6, a quasi-pick-6 that led to a pass Jameis Winston should see intercepted nine times out of 10, and a blocked punt. New Orleans now gets its first home game, but the market has overreacted to that narrative bump. For all the disgrace that accompanies a home loss to the Falcons, the Giants' offense went for 6.1 yards per play against Washington and 5.4 against Atlanta, besting both opponents in that regard. New York now goes on the road, where it's performed better so far this season. We'll take a shot on the Saints continuing their up-and-down season and playing to the bottom of their range. Let's hope the Giants play to the top of theirs.Detroit Lions +130I warned you: There are some real beauties this week, with another 0-3 squad live to get its first win of the season. The Lions have more talent than they're given credit for, and they could face either Justin Fields (who threw six completions for a single net passing yard last week) or Nick Foles (who is Nick Foles). After matchups with the 49ers, Packers, and Ravens, a clash with the Bears might be sweet relief for Dan Campbell's defense.Arizona Cardinals +200Good news: We get to bet on Kyler Murray.Bad news: We have to bet on Kliff Kingsbury. This number has come down, eliminating some of the value that existed on Monday and Tuesday. That said, this could be a letdown spot for the Rams after their big win over the Buccaneers. The Cardinals phoned in a win over the Jaguars last week, but we expect Murray and Co. to go shot for shot with the Rams here. And since we're getting 2-1 on our money, we'll take the rare opportunity to back Arizona as a decent-sized underdog.New England Patriots +240Save your narrative nonsense - we're getting Bill Belichick as a home underdog. Sure, he and the Patriots are facing Tom Brady after a loss. But if anyone knows what Brady wants to do, it's Belichick. Does New England have the horses to hang in? That remains to be seen. But the Buccaneers' pass defense has been more than a little shaky so far this season. As mentioned, the Patriots' loss last week wasn't as lopsided as the scoreboard suggested. At this price, we'll see if New England can rattle its old franchise cornerstone.Las Vegas Raiders +165Time for an admission: The Raiders are better than I thought. Derek Carr outperformed my expectations last week - and the week before that. And though Las Vegas isn't necessarily better than the Chargers, there's reason to believe Monday night's game will be a coin flip. The Chargers covering this number would indicate a consistency I'm waiting to see before believing; if this is a three-point game in either direction, getting a +165 price on the moneyline will be a good bet, win or lose. Here's how the odds shake down this week:PARLAY ODDS (Approx.)NYG+DET+AZ+2500NYG+DET+NE+3000NYG+DET+LV+2300NYG+AZ+NE+3900NYG+AZ+LV+3000NYG+NE+LV+3500DET+AZ+NE+2200DET+AZ+LV+1700DET+NE+LV+2000AZ+NE+LV+2500NYG+DET+AZ+NE+LV+24000Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore.
