If you're a football fan of any age, you'll likely have vivid memories of the NFL on Thanksgiving that include the Lions failing and the Cowboys disappointing. While that could be the case this year, you might be shocked by the point spreads below. You might be even more surprised that the NFL is no longer stopping at a turkey triple-header, spilling the schedule onto Black Friday.Packers @ Lions (-7.5, 47)The Lions are in the same situation as last Sunday against the Bears - favorites by just over a touchdown. On the surface, you can look at their narrow victory over Chicago as a reason not to like them this week. However, the turnovers - a 4-1 advantage for the Bears - show that a lot had to go wrong for the Lions to be trailing. Plus, Chicago unleashed Justin Fields' legs, which may have caught Detroit by surprise. In Green Bay, the Packers beat the Chargers, but key drops - twice from sure-handed Keenan Allen staring into the sun - prevented L.A. from winning. The Packers don't have anything that will surprise Detroit, as we saw in the first meeting when the Lions manhandled Green Bay.Pick: Lions (-7.5)

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson says he wasn't surprised by his benching, given the play of the offense."Not surprised," Wilson said of his benching, according to SNY.He added: "When you're not scoring touchdowns consistently, and we're letting our defense down, we're not putting up points, what do you expect? You can sit there and be happy with the progress that I feel like I've made personally, but it doesn't matter if you can't score, and I truly understand that."It starts with the quarterback, and it's finding a way to get it done, and we're not doing that."Wilson was benched in the third quarter of the team's 32-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The 24-year-old finished the game with 81 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on seven completions.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has been placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, the club announced Tuesday. The veteran wideout sustained the injury in the team's 27-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10. He'll miss at least four games on the reserve list. The 2019 Offensive Player of the Year ranks third on the Saints in receiving yards (448) and receptions (39) this campaign. He's also scored one touchdown. The 30-year-old has played in all 10 of New Orleans' games this season after playing in just 10 combined games over the previous three seasons due to various injuries.Thomas and the Saints agreed to a reworked deal to keep him with the club for the 2023 season, but he'll likely become a free agent after this campaign. The deal contains four void years and will designate him as a post-June 1 cut at the start of the 2024 league year if he isn't extended, per Over the Cap.Thomas' 565 career catches, 6,569 yards, and 36 touchdown receptions rank second, fourth, and seventh, respectively, in franchise history.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. In a stunning move, the Indianapolis Colts waived linebacker Shaquille Leonard, the team announced on Tuesday.Leonard's release comes less than two seasons after the 28-year-old's last All-Pro campaign. A second-round pick in 2018, Leonard earned a first-team All-Pro berth in three of his first four NFL seasons. However, he hasn't been able to replicate that production lately.Leonard, who appeared in only three games in 2022, underwent multiple back surgeries last year and hasn't been a three-down defender this season. The former Defensive Rookie of the Year recently expressed frustration with his reduced role, adding that the Colts "say I don't make enough splash plays."The South Carolina State product thanked Colts fans on Tuesday."These past six years (have) been nothing but incredible," he wrote.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones isn't expected to suit up for Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions due to a sprained MCL, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Jones was classified as week-to-week after being carted off with a knee injury in last Sunday's 23-20 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. The 28-year-old has been injury-plagued this season, already missing three games earlier due to hamstring issues.Jones hasn't looked like his usual self when on the field, either. The Packers running back is averaging a career-low 3.7 yards per carry and only 35 rushing yards per game. He's been held to 40 yards or less on the ground in five of his seven appearances.AJ Dillon is expected to receive a larger workload if Jones is sidelined.Green Bay clawed back to 4-6 with its win against Los Angeles in Week 11. However, the franchise still sits behind the Lions (8-2) and Minnesota Vikings (6-5) in the NFC North.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. In betting, as in life, you can either wallow in self-pity or be proactive. Rarely do you get as clear and obvious a chance to bail on a bet - where the on-field terms change so drastically - as we saw last Thursday night. The handicap for the entire game fundamentally changed when Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury. Yet sports bettors had time to fire up their apps with the Bengals taking a three-point lead when Burrow sustained the ailment. As a result, sportsbooks were kept in check with what odds they could offer on the Ravens via the live moneyline. With Jake Browning also coming in, knowing what the correct line should be was nearly impossible. It's one thing when a bet isn't going your way because the in-play odds will change to reflect that, and there's still time for your team to come back. But it's important to avoid stubbornly committing to your original position when a star quarterback goes down, for example, since live betting allows you to change directions. While the Bengals will have a respectable rating below based on their closing spread in Baltimore, we'll see next week how much Burrow means to Cincinnati's rating compared to Browning. How ratings workEvery week, we'll look at what the betting market thinks of each team based on the closing lines from that week's games. The "rating" column is an educated guess at the oddsmakers' rating to create a point spread, with the specific number being the percentage chance that the team beats an average opponent on a neutral field. Ratings aren't rankings. The closing line is considered a better reflection of a team's value than one game. The range column is my evaluation of what each team is capable of. It's our job as handicappers to determine where, within its range, a team will play based on factors like on-field matchups and roster/injury issues. The earlier it is in the season, the wider the range a team may have.Market ratings and our rangeTEAMRATINGRANGE49ers7960-80Chiefs7560-80Eagles7360-80Dolphins7255-75Cowboys7160-80Ravens6755-75Lions6650-70Bengals6050-70Bills5855-75Chargers5650-70Jaguars5645-65Saints5340-60Seahawks5040-60Texans4630-50Rams4630-55Browns4540-60Steelers4540-60Bears4525-45Broncos4335-55Falcons4235-55Colts4125-45Packers3835-55Buccaneers3830-50Jets3730-50Titans3635-55Commanders4035-55Vikings4035-55Patriots3630-50Cardinals3220-40Raiders3030-50Panthers2420-45Giants1520-40The 49ers managed the difficult feat of covering a big point spread after getting a boost to their rating at the height of their range, which also happens to be our ceiling for as good as a modern team can be. However, the Buccaneers had several chances to backdoor cover late.Whether it was beating the Dolphins or Andy Reid coming off a bye, the Chiefs got a rating boost that made them 2.5-point home favorites against the Eagles on Monday night after being +1 on the neutral field of the Super Bowl. We'll see if they get knocked down a peg or two before going to Las Vegas next week.Miami edged the Raiders. Even though the Dolphins dominated the box score, the drop in Vegas' rating never made much sense.Speaking of ratings drops, did we find the Bills' floor? The Jets are so bad that it's hard to say definitively. Zach Wilson's out and Tim Boyle is in. The market quickly moved the Jets from +7.5 to +10 this week, suggesting Boyle is much worse. The Bears shocked everyone when their line moved down from +10.5 to +7.5 against the Lions and when they were winning midway through the fourth quarter. Chicago is apparently a league-average team with Justin Fields back and with an improved defense, which is why the team's win total was lined at 7.5 before the season. The Giants took money to go from +10 at Washington down to +8.5. New York's rating got a boost as a result, and then the Giants went and won outright. The Patriots embarrassed themselves in Germany the last time we saw them, so it's hard to imagine their rating won't bottom out when they face the Giants this Sunday.Matt Russell is the lead betting analyst for theScore. The Pittsburgh Steelers relieved offensive coordinator Matt Canada of his duties, head coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday."I did not make this decision lightly," Tomlin told reporters during his Tuesday press conference, according to The Athletic's Mark Kaboly and Mike DeFabo. Tomlin also noted that the team's improvements "were not rapid enough or consistent enough for us to proceed."Tomlin says the front office was not consulted about Canada's dismissal and that the decision was solely his, per NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano. He described the change as "necessary" but not easy.Canada's firing immediately follows the Steelers' 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, which dropped the former's record to 6-4. The defeat marked the fourth time this year that Pittsburgh was held to 10 points or less and the fifth time the team was limited to one offensive touchdown or less."You have to score touchdowns in this business," Tomlin added, per Kaboly and DeFabo. The Steelers have been outgained by opponents in all 10 of their games this season. Pittsburgh's offense also ranked 28th in scoring (16.6 PPG) and yards per play (4.7) while placing 31st in passing yards per game (170 yards per game).Canada's termination marks the first time the franchise has made an in-season coaching change since 1941, according to ESPN's Paul Hembekides.Running backs coach Eddie Faulkner will be in charge of coordinating the Steelers' offense moving forward while quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan will handle the "bulk" of play-calling duties, according to Tomlin."I just want to see points," Tomlin replied when asked what schematic changes he wants, per ESPN's Brooke Pryor.Former 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett's development seemingly stagnated under Canada. He's suffered a dip in completion percentage and passing yards per game in Year 2. The 25-year-old has completed just 60.5% of his passes this season for six touchdowns and four interceptions, garnering him a 79.2 passer rating.Canada's offense received frequent criticism as the unit struggled to sustain drives and score points. "Fire Canada" chants even erupted from displeased fans during a Week 2 victory over the Cleveland Browns.Canada was hired by the Steelers as a quarterbacks coach in 2020 before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2021.Over his tenure, the Steelers were the only NFL team that failed to produce a 400-yard game and scored 30 points or more a league-low two times.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. The NFL Power Rankings are selected by a panel of theScore's football editors. With Thanksgiving around the corner, we're taking a look at what each team should be thankful for.1. Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) Mitchell Leff / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious rank: 1The Sirianni-Hurts combo. Philadelphia is nearly unstoppable when Jalen Hurts is healthy and Nick Sirianni's on the sideline. The Eagles are 26-2 in their last 28 regular-season games with Hurts starting under center.2. Baltimore Ravens (8-3)Previous rank: 3Lamar Jackson's health. After missing five contests in each of the past two seasons, the former MVP has started all 11 games in 2023. During a campaign in which Baltimore lost JK Dobbins and Mark Andrews for the season, keeping Jackson upright is paramount to the Ravens' postseason ambitions.3. Kansas City Chiefs (7-3)Previous rank: 2A great defense, finally. The Chiefs have always had an outstanding offense during the Patrick Mahomes era. But their defense, while occasionally good, never matched up. That's not the case in 2023, with Kansas City fourth in EPA per play, according to Ben Baldwin's database.4. Dallas Cowboys (7-3)Previous rank: 5Dak Prescott. The 30-year-old gets a ton of criticism from Cowboys fans, but he has been lights out since losing to the 49ers. Prescott has led all quarterbacks in EPA per play since Week 6, while Dallas has compiled a 4-1 record.5. Detroit Lions (8-2) Gregory Shamus / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious rank: 4The coaching staff. The Lions are off to their best start since 1962, and that wouldn't be possible if it weren't for Dan Campbell and Co. The head coach's fourth-down aggressiveness, combined with offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's creative offense, has been a difference-maker for Detroit.6. San Francisco 49ers (7-3)Previous rank: 7Trade-deadline aggressiveness. John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have turned San Francisco into one of football's most aggressive teams at the trade deadline. After acquiring Christian McCaffrey in 2022, the Niners traded for Chase Young this year. The former No. 2 pick has made an immediate impact.7. Miami Dolphins (7-3)Previous rank: 8The Jalen Ramsey trade. After missing the start of the campaign due to injury, Ramsey has racked up three interceptions in his first three Dolphins games. Landing the All-Pro corner for a third-round pick and a backup tight end was a major steal that could change Miami's year.8. Houston Texans (6-4)Previous rank: 10CJ Stroud's emergence as a star. The No. 2 pick has exceeded even the most optimistic expectations, establishing himself as one of the NFL's most dynamic and clutch quarterbacks. Stroud is on pace to break the rookie passing yards record while powering the Texans' surprising playoff hunt.9. Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3)Previous rank: 11The return of Trevor Lawrence's mobility. The 24-year-old quarterback has been playing through a knee injury for the last month, which head coach Doug Pederson said limited the offense. But Lawrence looked 100% healthy Sunday, running for two touchdowns in addition to two passing scores.10. Buffalo Bills (6-5) Sarah Stier / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious rank: 14Renewed optimism. The Bills put up 32 points on a solid Jets defense to snap a two-game losing streak in their first contest with interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady replacing Ken Dorsey. Buffalo will need a lot of momentum ahead of a tough final stretch of the season that begins with a trip to Philadelphia.11. Cleveland Browns (7-3)Previous rank: 9The defense. Devastating injuries have besieged key offensive starters, but the defensive unit has picked up the slack. Myles Garrett tops the league with 13 sacks in 10 games, and Cleveland is allowing the fewest total yards per game (243.3) in the NFL.12. Cincinnati Bengals (5-5)Previous rank: 6Clarity. After struggling to figure out where they fit in AFC standing, the Bengals have a high-definition image of the club's immediate future. With Joe Burrow under contract through 2029, the franchise can begin making difficult roster decisions that loom ahead of the offseason.13. Denver Broncos (5-5)Previous rank: 22Not trading Sutton. Courtland Sutton has been the subject of trade speculation since last season. Denver opted to keep him, and it's paid off big time. A week after a wild toe-tap touchdown against the Bills, Sutton came up with the game-winning score Sunday night.14. Seattle Seahawks (6-4)Previous rank: 12Dynamic young CBs. The Seahawks have done a great job drafting cornerbacks and landed Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, and Tre Brown in the last three years. The future is bright for Seattle's secondary.15. Minnesota Vikings (6-5) Matthew Stockman / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious rank: 16Joshua Dobbs. Minnesota's season looked all but over after Kirk Cousins' Achilles injury. However, Dobbs, who joined as part of a trade from Arizona, has performed better than anyone expected while helping the Vikings get above .500 despite their Week 11 loss.16. New Orleans Saints (5-5)Previous rank: 17The rest of the NFC South. The Saints sit atop the division, whereas the rest of their rivals find themselves at least two games below .500. More than half the season is already in the books.17. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)Previous rank: 15T.J. Watt. Getting sacks and causing headaches for offensive coordinators is as much a tradition for the Watts family as putting turkey on the table. T.J. Watt headlines a staunch defensive unit with a team-leading 11.5 sacks.18. Los Angeles Rams (4-6)Previous rank: 24Getting a new kicker. So far, so good for Lucas Havrisik, a standout in his first three NFL games after joining L.A. midway through the season to replace Brett Maher. Havrisik drilled the winning kick in Week 11 and has converted four of five field-goal attempts, including a 50-plus-yarder.19. Indianapolis Colts (5-5)Previous rank: 18Bad upcoming QB opponents. The Colts remain in the playoff race at 5-5 and have a real chance at making a run considering they'll face only one good quarterback - C.J. Stroud - the rest of the year. The others are Baker Mayfield, Will Levis, Jake Browning, Kenny Pickett, Desmond Ridder, and Aidan O'Connell.20. Los Angeles Chargers (4-6) Patrick McDermott / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious rank: 13A great look. Imagine how painful it'd be to watch the Chargers if they weren't wearing the NFL's best uniforms.21. Las Vegas Raiders (5-6)Previous rank: 20Good vibes. It's not often you see teams lighting cigars following regular-season wins. The Raiders were obviously an unhappy group under Josh McDaniels, and former player and interim coach Antonio Pierce has reinvigorated the locker room.22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6)Previous rank: 23The remaining schedule. What's the best remedy when you've lost five of your last six outings? Well, it's playing your final seven games against teams owning a combined 24-29 record.23. New York Jets (4-6)Previous rank: 21An elite defense. The Jets would already be down and out if it weren't for one of the league's premier defenses - the offense has been that bad. Can benching Zach Wilson in favor of Tim Boyle help New York stay alive long enough for Aaron Rodgers to make a miraculous return?24. Washington Commanders (4-7)Previous rank: 19New ownership. After an embarrassing loss to the Tommy DeVito-led Giants at home in Week 11, Commanders fans can start looking ahead to next year. Josh Harris and new ownership are all but guaranteed to clean house and start fresh for the 2024 campaign.25. Atlanta Falcons (4-6) Todd Kirkland / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious rank: 25Young offensive playmakers. The future is still bright for a franchise loaded with a young core featuring the likes of Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson. Time is fortunately on Atlanta's side.26. Green Bay Packers (4-6)Previous rank: 29Young pass-catchers. Green Bay's offense has been inconsistent. But the club should be happy with what it's seen from its young group of receivers, including Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, and Luke Musgrave, among others.27. Chicago Bears (3-8)Previous rank: 27The Panthers' dumpster fire. Chicago's chances of landing the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft increase weekly. Not only are the Bears 3-8, but the Panthers - whose first-round selection next year belongs to Chicago - have the league's worst record at 1-9.28. Arizona Cardinals (2-9)Previous rank: 28Kyler Murray. With solid performances in his first two games since returning from a torn ACL, the 2019 first overall pick looks much closer to prime Murray than anyone expected.29. New York Giants (3-8)Previous rank: 30A strong quarterback draft class. The Giants are locked into Daniel Jones' contract for the 2024 season, but that doesn't mean they can't add their quarterback of the future in the next draft. New York currently owns a top-five pick in a solid signal-caller class.30. Tennessee Titans (3-7) Icon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyPrevious rank: 26A chance to reset in 2024. The Titans' 2023 season has been one to forget, but they're set up to rebound in 2024. The team projects to have an NFL-high $100 million in cap space in the offseason and could control a top-five pick in the draft. Tennessee can also move on from a handful of aging, expensive veterans.31. New England Patriots (2-8)Previous rank: 31Memories. Let's not pretend anything is good for the Patriots right now. At least fans in New England can look back on Tom Brady and a dominant dynasty that won six Super Bowls in two decades.32. Carolina Panthers (1-9)Previous rank: 32Adam Thielen. The veteran wideout has proven in his first season in Carolina that he's not over the hill. Thielen has 426 more yards than the next closest Panthers receiver and is easily Bryce Young's most reliable target.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Tom Brady doesn't like what he's seen in NFL games."There's a lot of mediocrity in today's NFL," Brady recently said on "The Stephen A. Smith Show." "I don't see the excellence that I saw in the past."The legendary quarterback continued: "The coaching isn't as good as it was. I don't think the development of young players is as good as it was. The rules have allowed a lot of bad habits to get into the actual performance of the game. The product, in my opinion, is less than what it's been."Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion who retired from football after the 2022 season, has a particular issue with how the league's new rule changes encouraging player safety have affected the games."I look at a lot of players like Ray Lewis and Rodney Harrison and Ronnie Lott, guys that impacted the game in a certain way," Brady said. "Every hit they would have made would have been a penalty. You hear coaches complaining about their own players being tackled. Why don't they talk to their player about how to protect themselves? We used to work on the fundamentals of those things all the time. Now they're trying to be regulated all the time."Each team is averaging 7.37 penalties per game this season, the highest mark in the league since 2019, according to nflpenalties.com. The average last year was 6.56. Additionally, scoring around the league is down.Brady played in the NFL between 2000-2022 and is widely considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, starting 333 regular-season games throughout his career. He's criticized NFL officiating and other rule changes in the past. The NFL has frequently updated its rules to protect offensive players - particularly quarterbacks - in recent years."Offensive players need to protect themselves," Brady added. "It's not up to a defensive player to protect an offensive player. A defensive player needs to protect himself. I didn't throw the ball to certain areas because I was afraid players were gonna get knocked out. That's the reality. I didn't throw it to the middle when I played Ray Lewis because he'd knock them out of the game, and I couldn't afford to lose a good player."The league suspended Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson on Monday for four games for an illegal hit on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs. It's the second time Jackson has received a four-game ban this season, though his first suspension was later reduced to two contests. Multiple players - including Jackson - shared a video of Brady's quotes Tuesday on social media.Player safety has been a topic around the league lately, and more changes could be on the way. The NFL is considering banning hip-drop tackles. The play gained attention recently after multiple hip-drop tackles by Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson injured Baltimore Ravens players, including tight end Mark Andrews.Quarterback ailments have been an issue in the NFL this season, as several high-profile passers have suffered long-term injuries. The list includes Bengals star Joe Burrow, New York Jets signal-caller Aaron Rodgers, Minnesota Vikings passer Kirk Cousins, and Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. The NFL suspended Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson four games without pay for repeated violations of the player safety rules, the league announced Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.Jackson illegally hit Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs during Sunday night's game, and the NFL reviewed the play Monday. He is appealing his latest four-game ban, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. This is Jackson's second suspension for an illegal hit this season.Jackson was playing in his first contest after serving a two-game suspension, the result of being ejected for the second time this year in Week 7. His punishment was initially a four-game ban before a successful appeal. The defensive back appeared to lead with his helmet and launched himself into Dobbs' head/neck area, causing a fumble. He wasn't called for a penalty during the game.

Los Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Joey Bosa will likely be placed on injured reserve with a foot sprain, head coach Brandon Staley announced Monday, per The Athletic's Daniel Popper. The 28-year-old will miss at least four games if he is placed on IR after he was hurt in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers.Injuries have derailed several of the Ohio State product's seasons. Bosa hasn't played a full season since the 2019 campaign and already missed Week 4 of this year with hamstring and toe injuries.Tuli Tuipulotu and Justin Hollins could get more playing time while Bosa is shelved. Tuipulotu, a second-round selection in the 2023 draft, has four sacks and eight tackles for loss.Bosa is under contract through the 2025 season after signing a five-year, $135-million deal in 2020.He's racked up 6.5 sacks and six tackles for loss in nine games this year. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is considered day-to-day after spraining his ankle during Sunday's 17-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.The 30-year-old is dealing with a low ankle sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.Kupp sustained the injury in the second quarter and limped off the field before walking to the locker room. He was on the sideline in the second half but didn't re-enter the game. The former Super Bowl MVP has caught 24 passes for 375 yards and one touchdown through six games this season. He missed the campaign's first four games due to a hamstring injury he suffered at training camp.An ankle injury also sidelined Kupp in 2022, as he missed the season's final eight games with the Rams out of playoff contention.Kupp has played only two full seasons since entering the NFL as a third-round selection in 2017. When healthy, however, the Eastern Washington product has established himself as one of football's premier receivers. He posted a historic 2021 campaign, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches while helping the Rams win Super Bowl LVI.The 4-6 Rams visit the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12.If Kupp misses time, Los Angeles will likely continue to rely on rookie receiver Puka Nacua, who leads the team with 69 catches for 897 yards and three touchdown receptions on 103 targets. The New York Jets will start veteran quarterback Tim Boyle over Zach Wilson during Friday's game against the Miami Dolphins, head coach Robert Saleh announced Monday."Just to give (Boyle) the opportunity," Saleh said of his decision. "Different style of quarterback, so it really is to just give him the opportunity and see if he can do something with the offense."Saleh added that Trevor Siemian - who's currently on New York's practice squad - will serve as Boyle's backup in Week 12. Wilson will be active as the team's No. 3 option at quarterback.Wilson has been the starter since Aaron Rodgers sustained an Achilles injury in Week 1, but he's coming off another disappointing performance in Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The 24-year-old completed seven of 15 pass attempts for 81 yards and one touchdown against one interception. He was benched for Boyle with New York down big in the third quarter. This isn't the first time Wilson has been benched in his young NFL career. The BYU product has failed to live up to the hype since entering the league as the No. 2 overall pick. Mike White and Joe Flacco started multiple games for New York in the last two seasons.Wilson has a career completion rate of 59.19% with 5,966 yards, 21 touchdown passes, and 25 picks across 32 appearances (31 starts). The Jets are 11-20 with him under center.Saleh was noncommittal about Wilson's future in New York on Monday."We'll deal with it in the offseason," he said, according to SNY. "Right now, it's really about Miami."Boyle had seven completions, 33 yards, and an interception in his brief appearance versus the Bills. The 29-year-old hasn't started a game since Week 17 of the 2021 season for the Detroit Lions. He joined New York this year. The 4-6 Jets, owners of a top-10 defensive unit, have been looking for consistency at quarterback and traded for Rodgers during the offseason. Former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco signed to the Cleveland Browns' practice squad, the team announced Monday.Flacco will provide additional quarterback depth to a Browns team that lost Deshaun Watson to a season-ending shoulder injury. It is expected that Flacco will be promoted to the active roster. The 38-year-old worked out for Cleveland earlier this week but left without a deal.A first-round pick in 2008, Flacco spent the 2022 season with the New York Jets. He made four starts last year with his only win coming against the Browns - a game in which he threw four touchdowns and zero interceptions.Flacco will be part of a Browns quarterback room that also features P.J. Walker and fifth-round rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson.Thompson-Robinson led the team to a 13-10 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, throwing for 165 yards and adding another 20 yards on the ground. However, he did not score and threw one interception. Walker has also played this season but has struggled to the tune of one touchdown and five interceptions.Cleveland sits second in the AFC North with a 7-3 record.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins criticized the Jets and their players after he was involved in a postgame altercation in the tunnel at Highmark Stadium following Buffalo's 32-6 win over New York on Sunday."I'm a humble guy," Dawkins said, according to ESPN. "I'm not a fan, man. I'm not a fan of the Jets. Very disrespectful players. It's what it is, and when we can run and pass and beat a team like that, cool. Thumbs up."He added: "Guys playing with a lot of emotion and a lot of physicality, but just a lot of B.S., man. A lot of B.S. like those guys, it's what it is."Dawkins was flagged for unnecessary roughness after a scuffle with Jets defensive lineman Micheal Clemons in the fourth quarter. The Bills' lineman then did a dramatic flop after making contact with the Jets' defender. The two later had a skirmish in the tunnel after the matchup and had to be separated.

What else do you need to set up this game? It's a Super Bowl rematch. All the most pertinent players are back from a back-and-forth classic.Let's go!Eagles @ Chiefs (-2.5, 46.5)The line opened at Chiefs -2.5 and immediately went to -3, only to see bettors buy back on the Eagles at a full field goal. That context is important because it shows the betting market's interest in the Eagles at a specific price - the key number of +3 - and oddsmakers' unwillingness to go back despite the popularity of the Chiefs at under three. In Super Bowl LVII, Philadelphia closed as a one-point favorite. If all things were equal, moving that game from a neutral site to the confines of Arrowhead Stadium would result in about a two-point change in the line towards Kansas City for home-field advantage.Maybe the Chiefs were underrated going into the big game in February - due to Patrick Mahomes' lingering ankle pain - but it's hard to imagine the Eagles deserve to be downgraded given their 8-1 start to this season. The case to be made for a wider discrepancy is that Kansas City's defense has improved, while the Eagles' metrics have dipped this year. When in doubt, backing the Chiefs under a field goal is often a good idea, especially at home. However, there usually needs to be a secondary element to back that up - the market's overreaction to a Mahomes injury, the overrating of an opponent, etc. We're not seeing that here, as the Chiefs just closed at pick'em on a neutral field against Miami.Last week, we hopped on +2.5, teasing it up to +8.5. With the Lions' dramatic comeback win over the Bears on Sunday, our work is already done, with this game remaining to close out a two-team 6-point teaser. If you missed that heart-attack-inducing leg, Thanksgiving is coming on Thursday, so you don't have to wait long for seconds with the Lions.Lean: Eagles (+2.5), bet if line goes back to +3

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he hasn't decided who will be at quarterback for the team Friday against the Miami Dolphins, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. The Jets put Tim Boyle under center to replace Zach Wilson in the third quarter of Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills.Wilson completed 7 of 15 pass attempts for 81 yards and one touchdown against one interception before Boyle entered the contest with the Jets trailing 29-6. The 24-year-old Wilson, who was sacked five times in Week 11, has struggled to meet expectations since entering the NFL as the No. 2 pick in 2021. He now owns an 11-20 career record as a starter.Wilson began the 2023 campaign as New York's No. 2 passer behind Aaron Rodgers, whom the Jets acquired as part of an offseason trade from the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury in Week 1 but reportedly plans to play again in 2023 if the Jets are in playoff contention.Wilson has completed only 59.8% of his passes for 1,863 yards and five touchdowns against six picks through this season's first nine games.Boyle, an undrafted free agent in 2018, has spent time with four different teams throughout his NFL career. He signed with the Jets this year. Entering Sunday, the 29-year-old hadn't attempted a pass since Week 18 of the 2022 season in a brief appearance as a member of the Chicago Bears. Boyle went 7-for-14 passing with 33 yards and one interception against the Bills. The Jets boast one of the NFL's best defenses, but their offense has held the team back. Quarterback Josh Allen is confident that the Buffalo Bills found their spark by defeating the New York Jets in a 32-6 rout Sunday. The win came less than one week after the team fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey."Every season, man, has its ups and downs," Allen said, according to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. "You're going to have adversity. It's how you bounce back from the adversity. And sometimes it takes a spark like this to ignite your team."I think our team was energetic as we needed to be and, you know, a lot of that, for better or worse, can come from the quarterback, so just making that a point of emphasis throughout the week," Allen added.Buffalo scored the most points in a game since its 48-20 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 4, and the contest marked Joe Brady's first game as interim offensive coordinator.Despite leading the league with 22 passing touchdowns through 11 games, Allen has the most interceptions thrown (12). The two-time Pro Bowler has been picked off in seven consecutive games. But Allen shined in Week 11. He passed for 275 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's victory. The Bills' signal-caller spread the ball to six different receivers, including Khalil Shakir, who chipped in with 115 yards and one score. Buffalo also added 130 yards on the ground in the win over its divisional rival."I saw a little bit more of (Allen's) personality and our offense's personality," head coach Sean McDermott said. "And this is nothing about what had happened before with Coach Dorsey. It's more of just us getting back to just an energy on offense and guys having some fun, and I thought the offensive staff did a real good job of shaping a game plan that the guys felt good about and could execute, and fundamentally I thought we did a good job with the line of scrimmage as well."The Bills' defense also played a large part in the team's victory. New York was unable to convert a single third-down conversion (0-11) and was limited to 155 total yards despite the Bills losing defensive backs Taylor Rapp (neck) and Taron Johnson (concussion) to injuries. Buffalo also forced four turnovers, marking the first time in six outings that the team had fewer turnovers than its opponent.Buffalo will hit the road against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. Joshua Dobbs almost led the Minnesota Vikings to a third consecutive victory Sunday night against the Denver Broncos, only to be denied by a Russell Wilson touchdown pass in the final minutes. But Dobbs, who joined the Vikings in a trade from the Arizona Cardinals just three weeks ago, left a huge impression on Broncos head coach Sean Payton."Considering what he's been through, where the year began ... with Cleveland and then it was Arizona, and what he's doing now," Payton said, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "There's so much that goes into playing that position, and to see the poise he's playing with is really remarkable. I haven't seen anything like it."Despite consistently being under pressure from Denver's pass rush, Dobbs hit on 20 of 32 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown against one interception. He also rushed for 21 yards and a score.Dobbs won NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after stepping in for an injured Jaren Hall and leading Minnesota to a win over the Atlanta Falcons just five days after joining the team. He accounted for three touchdowns, including a passing score to cap off a 75-yard game-winning drive. The 28-year-old guided the Vikings to a victory against the New Orleans Saints the following week, completing 67.6% of his passes and producing one passing score and one rushing score.Minnesota is currently the NFC's No. 7 seed, in large part thanks to Dobbs' efforts since Kirk Cousins was lost for the season with an Achilles injury. Sunday Rundown recaps the most important developments from the day's action and examines their significance moving forward.Bills' offense shines Sarah Stier / Getty Images Sport / GettyBuffalo's first game after a surprise offensive coordinator change couldn't have gone much better. The Bills moved the ball well through the air and on the ground in a 32-6 win over the Jets, the most points their AFC East rivals have allowed since 2021.So, was Sean McDermott right? Did the season depend on showing Ken Dorsey the door and promoting Joe Brady in his place? That makes for a great headline, which you'll certainly find on debate shows Monday morning, but let's not get too crazy here.Brady, to his credit, called a great game against a tough opponent in his debut as the Bills' OC. And if Khalil Shakir taking Gabe Davis' spot as WR2 was his idea, even if for one game, even better. But are we sure this wouldn't have played out the exact same way under Dorsey? The Bills' offense was objectively good during Dorsey's time as coordinator, no matter what was being said and written. Here's a look at how the unit ranked in some key categories over the first 10 weeks of this season, according to Ben Baldwin's database:CategoryRankEPA/play3rdSuccess rate1stDropback EPA8thDropback success rate2ndRush EPA2ndRush success rate1stMcDermott's panic move to dump Dorsey came after a mistake-filled loss to Denver. The pressure was mounting with Buffalo at 5-5, and McDermott perhaps felt like he had to do something, but Josh Allen and James Cook turning the ball over a combined four times (including two fumbles) doesn't exactly fall on the coaching staff.Buffalo's offense is always going to be a bit of a roller coaster with Allen at quarterback - that's just the way he plays the game. Brady will get deserved praise if he can help Allen rein it in down the stretch, but there was a real chance those issues would have worked themselves out without any major personnel changes based on everything we've seen to this point.Don't be surprised when another team quickly adds Dorsey in the offseason. The numbers speak for themselves.Stick a fork in 'em Stacy Revere / Getty Images Sport / GettyThe Chargers are done.Finding a reason to believe in this team is something of an annual tradition among us Eternally Online folks. The talent looks consistently great on paper, and it feels like it must be just a matter of time before the Chargers finally stop wasting elite quarterback play.It even seemed like there was some hope heading into this week. A win over the lowly Packers would have gotten the Chargers back to 5-5 at a time when two other AFC contenders lost their starting QBs for the season. And yet, here we are.The Chargers' loss to the Packers dropped them to 4-6 ahead of a Sunday night matchup with the powerhouse Ravens. That means the Chargers have to be near-perfect to challenge for a playoff spot, let alone make noise from there. That's a lot to ask from this club. The offense hasn't taken a leap following Kellen Moore's hire as coordinator. There are still flashes of brilliance, as expected with Justin Herbert behind center, but this group somehow still tends to leave you wanting more.Things aren't any better on the other side of the ball, despite some star talent being led by a defensive-minded head coach. Last year, it was the run game. This year, the Chargers' defense is helpless against the pass. L.A. entered this week ranked 26th in dropback EPA and 28th in dropback success rate. It was more of the same against the Packers, with Jordan Love enjoying a career day and recording the first 300-yard game for a Green Bay QB since 2021.This defensive calamity should all but guarantee Brandon Staley is on the way out this offseason, but this team needs a lot more than a coaching change. The consistent and comically predictable failures extend to the front office, too.Time to sit Bryce? Eakin Howard / Getty Images Sport / GettyRookie QBs seldom start their careers on the bench anymore. Young players need all the reps they can get, and teams want to take full advantage of their cheap contracts as soon as possible. It sure seemed like the Panthers had the right idea when they started Bryce Young from the jump, but it's likely time to consider giving the young QB a breather - mostly for his own good.To be clear: Carolina's offensive struggles aren't on Young. While you hope a player selected with the No. 1 overall pick would do more to elevate those around him - especially with C.J. Stroud immediately dominating in Houston - the Panthers haven't provided him with any sort of foundation for success. That's the real issue here. While Young's failed to make an impact, the dire state of the Panthers' offense makes it difficult to even begin to evaluate his play. Most notably, pass protection is nonexistent despite some significant investments up front. Young was again constantly under siege Sunday against Dallas, taking a season-high seven sacks and 11 QB hits in the blowout loss.Even when Young does get time in the pocket, his receiving corps has been unable to create any sort of regular separation. If you're wondering whether that's on the receivers or the coaching staff, blame both. But head coach Frank Reich is already on the hot seat less than a year into his tenure, and it's increasingly difficult to see how Carolina possibly brings him back.To summarize: We've got an undersized franchise QB taking a beating and getting zero help from anyone involved with the offense on a 1-9 Panthers team that is going nowhere. What exactly are we doing here? There's no downside to Young sitting and resetting. Whether it's for the rest of the season or a few weeks, it can't hurt. The Panthers have much more to lose by continuing to throw him into a no-win situation for more punishment and failure.Quick slantsPurdy perfection Ezra Shaw / Getty Images Sport / GettyI've been tough on Brock Purdy. While his production's been impressive, particularly for a seventh-round pick, it's easy to make the case he's been elevated by playing in a quarterback's dream situation in San Francisco. Am I going to backtrack? Absolutely not. But Purdy deserves a special shoutout for his latest performance. Completing 21-of-25 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Bucs makes the 23-year-old the first 49ers quarterback to post a perfect 158.3 QB rating since Joe Montana in 1989. San Francisco can absolutely win it all with Purdy under center, and that's all that matters.Pickett ain't itThe Steelers winning as often as they do makes zero sense. Coordinator Matt Canada draws most of the criticism for a horrific offense, and deservedly so. But at what point do we have a conversation about Kenny Pickett? The quarterback's 106-yard day in Sunday's loss to the Browns was a great representation of his current capabilities. Pocket presence remains an issue, he doesn't have the arm talent to push the ball downfield, and he either can't or won't attack over the middle. While limiting turnovers can be enough to beat less capable teams, you need something (anything!) from your signal-caller to compete with the big dogs. Yes, Mitch Trubisky can be reckless, but is it possible his playmaking traits give the Steelers a better chance to win than Pickett does by playing not to lose?Warren > NajeeSticking with the Steelers: Jaylen Warren continues to be a bright spot for this offense. The second-year back had his most productive game of the season in Cleveland, with a 74-yard touchdown highlighting a 129-yard day. He's clearly the most explosive playmaker on this offense, yet Najee Harris leads the team in carries in every game. Ramping up Warren's usage is imperative to make this offense competitive - especially if the QB situation doesn't improve.Jags trending upDoug Pederson said recently that Trevor Lawrence's lingering knee injury has been a critical factor in the offense's struggles. If Sunday's blowout win over Tennessee is any indication, Lawrence is feeling a lot better. His mobility was key to Jacksonville's impressive output, highlighted by a pair of rushing scores. The best pass protection Lawrence has gotten all year helped, as did a long-awaited big day from Calvin Ridley. The Jaguars still aren't quite where they want to be offensively, but things are trending in the right direction.Houston's dynamic duo Tim Warner / Getty Images Sport / GettyStroud isn't the only rookie lighting up Houston. Tank Dell has emerged as the Texans' most dynamic playmaker, silencing anyone skeptical of an undersized third-round receiver. Dell set new career highs in receptions and receiving yards in Sunday's win over Arizona, hauling in eight catches for 149 yards and a touchdown. His effort on a 40-yard score is one of the best catches you'll see all year, and it held up as the eventual game-winner.Rodgers should take his timeAll indications suggest Aaron Rodgers wants to make an unprecedented return from a torn Achilles. He wants to be back for a playoff run, and current plans to practice in early December suggest it might be possible. The only problem? The Jets are now 4-6 with a Black Friday game against the Dolphins up next, so it's tough to envision them being in the playoff mix, no matter how good the defense is. Zach Wilson's benching Sunday is further confirmation that the Jets should have had a better backup for Rodgers from the jump. It's too late now.Bland chasing historyThe Cowboys sure have a knack for finding playmakers in the secondary. DaRon Bland's breakout season continued this week with his sixth interception and his fourth returned for a touchdown, which ties the NFL's single-season pick-6 record - and he's still got seven games to play. Getting a surprise All-Pro season out of the second-year corner has helped the Cowboys' defense maintain its level of play despite Trevon Diggs' absence. This will be a scary cornerback duo for years.Ramsey was a stealThe NFL's salary cap will always lead to some bizarre trades, but the Rams trading Jalen Ramsey for Hunter Long and a third-round pick is the kind of transaction that should only be possible in Madden. That's all it cost the Dolphins in their offseason deal and Ramsey - absolutely unsurprisingly - has taken Miami's defense to another level. He had two interceptions in Sunday's win over the Raiders, including an acrobatic play in the end zone to seal it. Other contenders have to be kicking themselves for not stepping up and beating Miami's offer for one of the game's best corners.Stat of the week

Najee Harris has serious doubts that the Pittsburgh Steelers can maintain their winning record unless their offense improves."You can do two things," Harris said after Sunday's 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns, according to Nick Farabaugh of Steelers Now. "You can look at the record and say, 'OK, we're still good right now.' (Or) you can look at the record and be like, 'If we keep playing this type of football, how long is that going to last?'"He added, "I look at it like, how long is this shit gonna last? It's a good record, but this is the NFL. Winning like how we did is not going to get us nowhere."Despite their winning record, the Steelers have been outgained in all 10 outings this season. Sunday's loss was the first time Pittsburgh has been defeated in a one-score game this year.Harris called for a team meeting involving all offensive players following Sunday's letdown."We're going to have a talk as a team," Harris said, per Joe Rutter of Trib Live. "That's the best way to say it."The 25-year-old added, "I want to say what I really want to say, but it's difficult."He also admitted that at times, it seems as though opponents know what Pittsburgh will call on offense.Harris was held to 35 yards on 12 carries against the Browns, though running mate Jaylen Warren enjoyed a successful day with 129 rushing yards. Kenny Pickett also struggled to move the football, completing just 15 of his 28 attempts for 106 yards with no touchdowns.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. He initially had an ice wrap on his elbow and then returned with a protective sleeve. The veteran put Seattle in position for a potential game-winning field goal after completing 3 of 5 passes on the team's final drive. However, Jason Myers' 55-yard field-goal attempt missed the mark.Head coach Pete Carroll described the injury postgame as a bruise in the lower tricep/back of the elbow and is uncertain about the quarterback's availability for Thursday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, per NFL Network's Omar Ruiz.Smith admitted he was "a little sore" after the game and also offered no certainty as to his status for Week 12, according to team reporter John Boyle.Drew Lock filled in for Smith while he was sidelined. Lock threw six passes with one interception and two completions.Smith ended the game with 233 yards passing and one touchdown. The 33-year-old is in the midst of a shaky 2023 campaign. The veteran has seen his completion percentage, yards per attempt, and passer rating regress from 2022 when he won Comeback Player of the Year. He's thrown 11 touchdowns to seven interceptions. The Seahawks also lost running back Kenneth Walker to an oblique strain in the loss, which dropped them to 6-4.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane suffered a knee injury in Sunday's 20-13 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders."He kind of got landed on, and it was a little painful," Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told the media, including ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques. "He was politicking trying to come back in the game, but I was a little worried with the rust."Achane handled two touches in the first half before the injury. McDaniel confirmed that the ailment occurred in the same knee that had held the rookie rusher out of action since Week 5.The Dolphins coach added that he got good feedback about the injury from the team's medical staff, per Safid Dean of USA Today. The speedster was making his return after missing the last four games. The Dolphins officially activated their fourth-round pick Saturday.Across three games from Weeks 3 to 5, Achane amassed 455 total rushing yards and seven total touchdowns.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. New York Jets fans keep getting encouraging news regarding Aaron Rodgers. The four-time NFL MVP has been telling the Jets that he'd like to start practicing again as early as Dec. 2, reports Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.Rodgers - who tore his left Achilles tendon Sept. 11 during his New York debut - recently sent the Jets a video of him working out that "blew their mind," according to Glazer. The 39-year-old is reportedly re-joining the club this week and will try to play next month if the team is still in playoff contention.New York announced in September that Rodgers was expected to miss the remainder of the season. However, the veteran signal-caller has repeatedly said his main goal was to still return this campaign. He initially didn't rule out potentially playing in the postseason if the Jets were in it, but Rodgers recently said he's been pushing to be back mid-December.The most likely date for a potential Rodgers return is Week 16 against the Washington Commanders on Dec. 24, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.Rodgers has been throwing with his teammates during most of the Jets' pregame warmups and was recently seen walking without crutches or limping before a game.New York enters its Week 11 matchup versus the Buffalo Bills with a 4-5 record. The Jets boast a premier defense but have struggled offensively with Zach Wilson under center.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder is expected to start the team's Week 12 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, the team announced Sunday, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.Ridder was the backup quarterback for the last two games. He was benched following the club's Week 8 loss to the Tennessee Titans, during which the Cincinnati product left the game to be evaluated for a concussion and did not return. Head coach Arthur Smith made the switch to Taylor Heinicke the following week.Ridder returned to action last week after Heinicke left the game in the second half due to a hamstring injury. He finished the contest with 50 total yards and a touchdown."Sometimes you need a fresh perspective," Smith said last week of Ridder, per Rapoport. "That's what I think helped him. The reset, the refocus and working on things that I thought could help him, he's done that."The 24-year-old has been prone to turnovers this year, racking up 12 in eight starts. Atlanta believed the bulk of Ridder's mistakes were correctable and felt he had a lot of learning to do, according to James Palmer of NFL Network. A move back to Ridder was always the plan unless Heinicke went on a "ridiculous run," Palmer adds.Ridder has completed 65% of his passes this season, throwing for 1,740 yards with six touchdowns and six interceptions. The Falcons are on the bye week and have a 4-6 record.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

The New York Jets are determined to reunite Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. The Jets are expected to pursue a trade for the All-Pro receiver again this offseason after being rebuffed before the October trade deadline, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Raiders were reportedly adamant about keeping Adams despite a disappointing season up until that point. But with interim head coach Antonio Pierce getting Las Vegas back to 5-5 with two straight wins following the firing of Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, the future of Adams could depend on whether the club can sustain its success, adds Schefter. The 30-year-old has 57 catches for 659 yards and three touchdowns in his second season with the Raiders. He had 100 catches for 1,516 yards and an NFL-high 14 receiving scores in 2022.Adams established himself as one of the NFL's best wideouts during eight seasons alongside Rodgers in Green Bay before getting traded to Las Vegas. The star quarterback is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury but hopes to return in mid-December.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Miami Dolphins activated running back De'Von Achane off injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the team announced Saturday.Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that he's "very optimistic" Achane would return for Sunday's game, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.Achane was officially listed as questionable for Week 11. He was a limited participant at practice this week.A knee injury sent the 22-year-old to injured reserve on Oct. 11 and has kept him sidelined for his team's last four games.Achane - a third-round rookie - stood out in his first NFL games. After being inactive in Week 1 and playing just six snaps in the season's second game, the Texas A&M product rushed for 455 yards (12.3 per carry) and five touchdowns from Weeks 3-5. He also caught two TDs in that span.Achane is part of an explosive Miami backfield that's headlined by running back Raheem Mostert. The veteran tailback has racked up 605 yards and a league-high 11 touchdowns on the ground in 2023.The Dolphins - owners of the NFL's highest-scoring offense - had a bye in Week 10 after suffering a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Germany.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. We had our best showing of the season in the prop game, even hitting on a Bijan Robinson touchdown at +120 on the way to an 8-3 Week 10, getting back above .500 through 102 plays. With just a handful of weeks to go before things get weird in late December, let's hope for better luck than those who had the over on anything to do with Mark Andrews or Joe Burrow on Thursday.Trey McBride: Over 5.5 receptions (+110)If we didn't like Robinson so much last week, our prop target for Falcons-Cardinals would've been McBride. It's a small sample size, but in the two games where Zach Ertz hasn't been there to block McBride's playing time, and Clayton Tune wasn't the quarterback, McBride's caught 18 passes for 226 yards. The top tight end taken in the 2022 NFL Draft has seen his market totals increase, but Arizona's taking on the team allowing the most receptions to opposing tight ends (7.1).Jahmyr Gibbs: Over 69.5 rushing + receiving yardsIf this bet sounds familiar, it's because we used it last week when Gibbs was lined at 58.5 against the Chargers. He ended up with 112. So the line goes up, and though the Bears have a far better run defense, the Lions will find a way to get Gibbs into the open field, as he's had 35 or more receiving yards four times this season.Dak Prescott: Over 259.5 passing yardsSince the Sunday night fiasco in San Francisco in Week 5, the Cowboys' rejigged offense has gone from averaging 6.6 yards per pass to 9.7 and made Prescott a worthy long shot for MVP. Maybe that disparity is a function of opposition, but given it's the Panthers on deck Sunday, who cares? Prescott may not throw for more attempts or completions than the market thinks, but with Carolina still missing virtually its entire first-string secondary, 30 throws might be good enough to get to 260 yards or more.A.J. Dillon: Over 29.5 rushing yardsThis might be the week Aaron Jones goes off, but Dillon was the more efficient runner versus the Steelers last week and against the Rams the week before. Even with Jones back healthy, the Packers have split the snaps evenly between the two, but Dillon's lined at nearly half Jones' total. There should be more than enough yards to go around against the Chargers.Josh Jacobs: Over 16.5 rush attemptsThe point spread says that Antonio Pierce's continued commitment to Jacobs will likely be tested in what could be a blowout. But what if it isn't?Jacobs has 26 and 27 carries in the last two weeks, so let's expect Pierce and the Raiders to stick with what they want to do best, even if they get down two scores.Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Under 25.5 pass attempts (+100)Thompson-Robinson was put in a tough spot for his first start, being forced to throw 36 times in a trailing game state against the Ravens. Better prepared and relying on the run game - with DTR's legs a factor - against a Steelers defense that'll also give up the big play in the passing game, Thompson-Robinson shouldn't need to throw too many times.Christian McCaffrey: Under 17.5 rush attemptsAfter giving him enough carries to go over this number in the first five games of the season, the 49ers haven't asked McCaffrey to operate with a heavy workload in their last four contests, presumably to keep him healthy. So why return to their old ways of heavy usage against a team they should beat easily? There are plenty of healthy options (Elijah Mitchell, Jordan Mason, Tyrion Davis-Price) to burn the clock down the stretch, and with McCaffrey's touchdown streak over, San Francisco won't be needlessly tempted late.Stefon Diggs: Under 75.5 receiving yardsWhat's wrong with the Bills' offense? It's not efficiency; it's turnovers. So Buffalo's doing the right things but doing them the wrong way. Josh Allen should continue to stay patient by using other options and be wary of forcing the ball into dangerous spaces. Speaking of which, Diggs follows his tough Monday matchup versus Patrick Surtain (three catches for 34 yards) by having to go against Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed.Matthew Stafford: Over 22.5 pass completions (+100)In Week 1, Stafford completed 24 passes for 334 yards in a convincing win in Seattle. Now he has Cooper Kupp available for what the point spread suggests should be a close rematch at home. The Seahawks should stuff the Rams' efforts to run, and Seattle will be able to produce more offense, so it will once again come down to Stafford moving the ball consistently. That's something he's already shown he can do.Joshua Dobbs: Under 229.5 passing yardsThose betting on the Vikings last week happily took advantage of Dobbs' epic second quarter against the Saints. However, with so much of it directed at T.J. Hockenson, the Broncos should be game-planning to stop that option for Dobbs. We'll continue to back Denver's defensive turnaround, expecting Dobbs' story to take a negative turn on Sunday night.Matt Russell is the lead betting analyst for theScore. Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor showed support for linebacker Logan Wilson, who's been heavily criticized for his tackle on Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews and other plays that resulted in injuries during the Week 11 matchup."It's kind of been brought to my attention, the narrative that's out there right now, which I think is completely reckless," Taylor said, according to ESPN's Ben Baby. "He plays the game the right way. I think some people have gotten ahead of themselves, labeling him a certain way. It's frustrating to see that because I know what the guy is about. And I know that he's trying to play the game the right way."Wilson - a former third-round pick who's in his fourth season with Cincy - used a hip-drop tackle to stop Andrews in the first quarter of Thursday's game. Andrews went down on the play and is expected to miss the remainder of the season after reportedly suffering a cracked fibula and an ankle ligament injury.

Every loss hurts in the NFL, but two in particular explain the Bills' current predicament. They should have trounced the Jets in Week 1, especially once Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles. They should have beaten the Broncos last Monday, seeing how Denver's first shot at a game-winning field goal sailed wide. Theatrical, crushing defeats ensued. The Bills' expected record through 10 weeks is 7-3, per Pro Football Reference. They should lead the AFC East. In reality, they're 5-5 and have to fight a crowd of challengers for a wild-card berth.Lots of AFC teams - the Jets and Broncos included - are hovering around .500. All have a chance to benefit from Buffalo's recent malaise.Turnovers are to blame. Buffalo's stopped forcing them and is careless with the ball. Intercepted five times across the Jets and Broncos games, Josh Allen has thrown a pick in six other weeks. Every so often, this tendency is ruinous.Allen's perplexing team, a title contender on paper, ranks eighth in the NFL in scoring and is fifth in points allowed. The Bills excel in the red zone (they're third in touchdown percentage at 70.3%) and pummel opposing quarterbacks (second in sacks with 33).Only the Ravens, Cowboys, and 49ers boast a better point differential this season. By that metric, the Bills are an all-time great 5-5 team.Wasting possession hurts, though. When the Bills stomped the Raiders, Commanders, and Dolphins in consecutive weeks, they won the cumulative turnover battle 10-1. Across seven other games, they lost it 17-5.Since Week 5, the Bills are 2-4 with a minus-six point differential. Neither win was inspiring, and two defeats were debacles. They choked a late lead to Mac Jones' Patriots. The comedy of errors in the Broncos game that culminated in a 12th-man penalty and kicking do-over for Denver ensured the Bills have no room for error against stellar upcoming opponents. What ails Buffalo is fixable, though. Allen's play hasn't cratered this season. He's tied for the NFL lead in passing touchdowns (19) and QB rushing scores (seven); his glittering 70.3% completion rate is a career high; and he's taking fewer sacks, making fewer reckless plays, and agonizing over fewer dropped passes than usual.Problematically, his giveaways cause Buffalo to play from behind. Allen's 11 interceptions are a league high. His last six picks have come in the first half of games. Telegraphing throws to the sideline, Allen hit safety Jabrill Peppers on his first dropback against the Patriots and allowed Fabian Moreau to set up a Broncos field goal before halftime.

When Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles against the Green Bay Packers last month, he was afraid the season-ending injury would also end his career. Now, the Minnesota Vikings quarterback is confident he'll eventually return."You have a lot of thoughts go through your head, and one of them was: 'Is this the last time I play football?" Cousins said Friday in his first public comments since the ailment, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "Now a couple weeks removed I can say, 'No, it's not going to be.' I'm excited to write the next chapter and see what God wants to do with it."However, the 35-year-old isn't sure where that chapter will be written. His contract will void in March, although he hopes to remain with the Vikings for the rest of his career."Certainly your mind goes there and you know that's coming," Cousins said regarding his contract situation. "But similar to what we said in April or August, March will happen in March. February will happen in February. Those conversations will happen, but it's just not time yet. We've got so much to focus on with this season."Although he can't contribute on the field, Cousins will look to help the 6-4 Vikings in other ways."He knows our offense," head coach Kevin O'Connell said. "He knows it as well as any of us pretty much. ... I just asked him, 'I just want you to be involved. I just want you to be around our team. Be around.' He is going to start traveling when he gets cleared to do that. I think it (is) a huge bonus for everybody to have him around."Cousins threw for 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 2,331 yards in 2023. Overall, he's recorded 23,265 yards and 171 touchdowns against 55 interceptions since joining the Vikings in 2018. His yardage ranks third in franchise history behind Tommy Kramer (24,775) and Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton (33,098). He ranks second in touchdown passes behind Tarkenton's 239.The Michigan State product began his career with Washington after being selected with the No. 102 pick in 2012. He's accumulated 39,471 passing yards, 270 touchdowns, and 110 interceptions on 66.9% passing in 150 career games.Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera doesn't appear to be worried about his job status despite having yet to post a winning season with the team."I understand the situation and circumstances, but I'm not going to waver on anything," Rivera said Friday, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. "I'll stick to what I talked about in the spring and that was the growth and development of the quarterback and the offensive unit."The 61-year-old added, "I'm confident and comfortable in who I am and what I do. Shit, I've been through enough. The last three years have not been easy. ... At the end of the day, the questions that need to be asked are: Is the culture better and have we found a quarterback?"Rivera - a two-time Coach of the Year with the Carolina Panthers in 2013 and 2015 - has posted a 26-33-1 record since being named Washington's head coach in 2020. The Commanders, who were sold to a Josh Harris-led ownership group during the offseason, are 4-6 in 2023.Quarterback play has been the franchise's biggest issue in recent years, as Washington has lacked consistency at football's most important position. The team turned to Sam Howell - a fifth-round pick in 2022 - this season and hired a new offensive coordinator in Eric Bieniemy. Howell currently leads the league in pass completions and yards, but the Commanders' offense ranks 17th in points per game.Meanwhile, Washington's defense - a top-10 unit last season - is one of the NFL's worst units in 2023."My big disappointment has been we haven't played as well on defense that we've needed to," Rivera said. "Does that make my job security shaky? It could. I mean, I have no idea what Mr. Harris is going to do. So all I can do is just focus on each game each week."Washington hosts the New York Giants in Week 11.The Commanders were the NFL's biggest sellers at October's trade deadline. New ownership and disappointing results could lead to sideline changes after the season, but Rivera is only focused on what he can control."This is the nature of the game. I get it. So, if it happens, it happens. If I stay, I stay," he said. "Until then, I will just continue to work. I know what my goals are, I know what my vision is."Copyright (C) 2023 Score Media Ventures Inc. Gear up for another weekend of NFL football. As starting quarterbacks continue to drop like flies, look for more sloppy play from offenses around the league. That's particularly important when deciding whether to take an over or under. Our season record on total bets is 16-14. Let's get to this week's best total plays.Commanders team total over 23.5 pointsThe Commanders' offense has steadily improved due to Sam Howell's impressive play. They're averaging over 25.6 points per contest in their last three games.Washington next plays the Giants, the worst team in the NFL. New York allows 26.6 points per game. The Giants' defense is even worse now because of their offense's incompetence with Tommy DeVito at quarterback. New York has the worst scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 11.8 points per game. The Commanders will have the ball for the overwhelming majority of the game. They have the weapons to move the ball and score points if Howell is playing well. This is a divisional matchup, but the Giants are playing for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, while Washington's still in the playoff hunt. Expect a beatdown.Cardinals @ Texans over 47.5 pointsThe Cardinals' season truly started last week. Yes, they're 2-8 and essentially eliminated from playoff contention, but Kyler Murray has a chance to prove he should be the starting quarterback for years to come after returning from injury.Murray played well in his return, reigniting the offense to the tune of 25 points and a win over Atlanta. The Texans' defense hasn't been great, allowing over 21 points per game.Houston's offense, though, has been exceptional. Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is in MVP contention and has a chance to lead his team to the playoffs. The Texans scored 30 and 39 points in their last two games, respectively. The Cardinals are the NFL's fifth-worst-scoring defense, so the offensive surge should continue against Arizona. This game will feature a boatload of points without a lot of defense, which is the perfect recipe for an over.Steelers @ Browns under 33 pointsThis is an incredibly low point total, but that's for a reason. For starters, this is a divisional matchup between two teams in the division title race. Both teams will be desperate for a win, which calls for a physical, defensive-oriented game. The Steelers average 17.3 points per game, the NFL's seventh-worst mark. However, they're 6-3 because their defense has held opponents to 20.2 points per contest. The Browns also have a dominant defense, holding teams to 18.9 points per game. They're starting rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson with Deshaun Watson out for the season due to a shoulder injury. This will surely be an ugly game of football as both teams struggle to move the chains, resulting in a low-scoring contest.Sam Oshtry is a sports betting writer at theScore. The post was later deleted, Schefter reports.Burrow wasn't listed on the team's Week 11 injury report prior to Thursday's matchup.Burrow said that he was wearing a compression sleeve on his wrist during the team's flight to Baltimore and that it had "nothing to do" with the torn ligament, per ESPN's Ben Baby.Head coach Zac Taylor said he was unaware of a wrist ailment prior to kickoff.Taylor later said that the wrist wrap Burrow was wearing on the plane was completely unrelated to his season-ending injury, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.Burrow will miss the remainder of the season after tearing a ligament in his wrist that will require season-ending surgery, Taylor told reporters Friday.Burrow exited the Bengals' 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football after throwing a touchdown to Joe Mixon in the second quarter. Following a visit to the medical tent, he attempted to throw on the sideline and jogged back to the locker room. He watched the rest of the game from the sideline. The 2022 Pro Bowler completed 11 of 17 passes for 101 yards and one TD before his exit. A 64.1% win rate on our best bets against the spread wasn't sustainable, so a 1-3-1 week isn't shocking, even if the Ravens' collapse was. Luckily, our five favorite dogs swept ATS, the Broncos came through on the moneyline, and the adjusted line parlay won, all more than making up for a bad break in Baltimore.Best bets ATSWe've already discussed the five underdogs with a shot to win outright relative to their price, and as always, they're worth a look against the spread.TEAMSPREADGiants+9Packers+3Raiders+13.5Titans+7Jets+7However, there are more plays worth making this week.Steelers @ Browns (-1, 32.5)With Deshaun Watson out and Dorian Thompson-Robinson surprisingly named the starter, it feels like the Browns are an underdog in this game. However, they still boast the best unit by far.Cleveland's defense didn't allow the Steelers to run a play inside the 30-yard line in their Week 2 matchup, and Pittsburgh's offense hasn't shown any more consistency since. It was a Watson pick-six on the first play and a fourth-quarter T.J. Watt fumble that cost the Browns the game, so how much worse can it be with Thompson-Robinson?The Steelers' run defense is poor (4.5 yards per carry) and their secondary has shown massive holes without Minkah Fitzpatrick. The Browns should be able to use their tailbacks and strategically pass via play-action to win a low-scoring game.Pick: Browns (-1)Cardinals @ Texans (-4.5, 47.5)It's easy to get excited about Kyler Murray's return and a rare Cardinals win, but, the more you look into it, the more it seems like the Falcons' incompetence drove that result. Murray had 249 passing yards and no touchdowns, and his late scramble made it seem like he had more than 33 rushing yards. He said after the game that, on his walk-in touchdown run, he hadn't been defended that ignorantly since high school.I was reminded during a podcast appearance this week that Texans head coach Demeco Ryans prepared for Murray repeatedly as the 49ers' defensive coordinator, and they already showed they can handle a mobile quarterback when they held Lamar Jackson to 207 combined passing and rushing yards in Week 1.Offensively, the Falcons mustered just 3.3 yards per pass attempt against Arizona. There are worse teams in the NFL, but no one's failing accidentally more egregiously than the Falcons. In turn, C.J. Stroud is operating Bobby Slowik's offense at a high level. Murray won't be able to keep up.Pick: Texans (-4.5)Cowboys @ Panthers (+10.5, 42.5)The Panthers are out of ideas. Frank Reich might be one-and-done, so he's taking back the offensive play-calling. However, a lack of talent has always been an issue, and the Cowboys should have no trouble tormenting Bryce Young, capping how many points Carolina can score this week. The Panthers might get Brian Burns and Jaycee Horn back, but they'll need more than that against the Cowboys' offense, which is cooking right now. Carolina is 1-9 despite a relatively soft schedule, and in its games against comparable teams - the Seahawks, Lions, Dolphins - it allowed 37, 42, and 42 points. Scoring 31 points might be disappointing for Dallas, and getting to 20 seems highly unlikely for a Carolina team that hasn't scored that many in a competitive game this season.Pick: Cowboys (-10.5)Vikings @ Broncos (-2.5, 43.5)The Joshua Dobbs experience has been fun the last two weeks, but the Vikings might be set to take a step back on the road against a Broncos defense that's turning it around. Let's assume that Denver defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is aware that half of Dobbs' completions last week went to T.J. Hockenson. The Saints clued into that at halftime, and Minnesota scored just three points in the second half.Look for Sean Payton to be prepared for the high-frequency blitzing that has been Brian Flores' calling card this season. Russell Wilson isn't turning the ball over, and he'll make enough things happen around the line of scrimmage to create a big play or two against an exposed secondary.Pick: Broncos (-2.5)Moneyline upset of the weekPackers (+140) over ChargersWe hit a big one last week, so you'll forgive me if we take one that's a little shorter than usual. That's just how much we like the Packers this week. They say that a running game and defense travel. The Chargers have neither.Austin Ekeler has 76 carries for 215 yards since coming back from injury.Remember how bad the Broncos' pass defense was before their personnel changes? The Chargers have caught up to them in opponent yards per attempt, and the Packers' modest offensive improvement has coincided with Aaron Jones' availability.Best 6-point teaser Lions -1.5 / Eagles +8.5 (-130)The opening line of Lions -10.5 was too high, especially with Justin Fields' pending return. But the market pushing this spread down has it begging to be teased under the key number of -3.The Eagles took money to move the line off of +3, with the market presumably believing that line was an over-adjustment from when Philadelphia was a slight favorite in February. Let's run with that idea and bet the Eagles keep this within one score.Matt Russell is the lead betting analyst for theScore. If there's a bad beat to be had, Matt will find it.
