Now, with five months left until the draft, it'd be a surprise if he wasn't.A lot has changed for the LSU quarterback, who's now the overwhelming favorite at 1-3 to be the first player taken in April. Burrow is also the runaway favorite to win the Heisman Trophy amid a 3,687-yard, 38-touchdown campaign with a record-breaking 78.6% completion percentage.PLAYERODDSJoe Burrow1-3Chase Young2-1Andrew Thomas5-1Just a few weeks ago, the favorite to go No. 1 was still Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, whose sensational feel and awareness had teams drooling at his potential in the modern NFL. His injury Saturday complicates matters - he's off the board as a candidate for the top pick, opening up a clear path for Burrow as the premier quarterback in this class.Burrow's draft fate could be linked to the success of the quarterback-needy Cincinnati Bengals, who have a one-game "lead" for the No. 1 selection thanks to an 0-10 start. They play the Dolphins (2-8) in Week 16 in a matchup that could decide which team has the inside track for the top pick.If it's not one of those two clubs picking first, Burrow's chances of going No. 1 take a legitimate hit. The Redskins (1-9) and Giants (2-8) both drafted quarterbacks in the first 15 picks of last year's draft, while the Broncos (3-7) and Buccaneers (3-7) have likely won too many games for contention.Should Washington or New York sneak into the top spot, Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young is an attractive option for those defensively-challenged squads. The fringe Heisman contender is on pace for the best grade in PFF history, NFL or college, and he's considered by many as the best pure talent in the draft. The pick could also be Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, who's flirted with the top spot in mock drafts dating back to the preseason. He's 5-1 to go No. 1, which might be too short considering the likelihood of the Bengals - or another quarterback-needy team that trades up - targeting Burrow with the top selection.Since 1997, the top pick has only been a quarterback (15 times), edge rusher (four), or offensive tackle (three). The last tackle selected No. 1 overall was Eric Fisher in 2013.Where will Tua Tagovailoa go?DRAFT SPOTODDS1-102-111-2019-10 (+190)21-323-1Rounds 2-72-1For what seemed like an eternity, the likely choice for the No. 1 pick had been Tagovailoa, whom teams had targeted - and tanked for - ever since he rocketed the game-winning pass in the 2017 national title game. Then came his devastating hip injury Saturday, which knocked him out for the year and put his career in jeopardy. He's expected to make a full recovery, though teams will likely need to see some evidence of Tagovailoa at full strength before investing a top-20 pick in him.If a second-round slide is in the cards, Tagovailoa may be better served to return for another year at Alabama. He's 3-1 to play for the Crimson Tide in Week 1 and 1-5 not to, which could also be impacted by his recovery timeline even if he does opt to return.Should Tagovailoa enter the draft, his slide could be impacted by a strong quarterback class. Burrow is the obvious top prospect, though Justin Herbert has been a worthy contender for nearly two years, and Jordan Love has a tantalizing NFL skill set, as long as he can curtail his poor decisions. The over/under for quarterbacks drafted ahead of Tagovailoa is 2.5, with the under juiced at -135.Who picks first?TEAMODDSCincinnati Bengals5-8 (-160)Washington Redskins2-1New York Giants17-4 (+425)Miami Dolphins5-1If you're hesitant to lay 1-3 odds on Burrow at No. 1, you could roll the dice at a cheaper price on the Bengals, who are sure to take Burrow if they snag the top spot. Still, Washington is right on their heels and looks just as bad, if not worse, this season. The Giants and the Dolphins aren't worth the short odds, having already won two games with just six weeks to go.The tricky thing with these odds is that they're for which team picks first, not necessarily which club earns the top selection. If the Redskins secure the pick but don't want to draft Burrow, they could easily trade back, rendering a short-odds bet on Washington irrelevant. That means banking on the player, not the team, might be a better investment for draft bettors.C Jackson Cowart is a betting writer for theScore. After leading the NFL in rushing yards per game for three consecutive seasons, Ezekiel Elliott is experiencing a career low in that category while Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott throws his way to his best professional campaign. But despite the decline in his individual production, the star running back approves of how things are going for the Cowboys' offensive unit."When someone has the hot hand, keep giving them the ball," he said Wednesday, according to Jori Epstein of USA TODAY. "The passing game is rolling right now so you've got to ride it and ride it while it's hot."The past two weeks saw Prescott attempt at least 45 passes in back-to-back games for the first time in his NFL career. He currently leads the league with 3,221 passing yards and his 21 touchdown passes are three shy of a personal best.Dallas' running game, meanwhile, ranks seventh in the NFL with 131.9 yards per game, but the Cowboys haven't topped the 100-yard mark on the ground in either of their last two contests. Through 10 contests, Elliott has rushed for 833 yards after averaging 95.6 rushing yards per game in 2018."We know we've got some work to do on the run game," the 24-year-old said. "Week in and week out, we're going to attack that and we're going to get better in the run game. But as long as the offense is rolling and we're scoring 35 points, that's great in the NFL."Dallas put up 35 points in its Week 11 victory over the Detroit Lions, eclipsing 30 points for the sixth time this season. The 6-4 Cowboys will face football's No. 1 ranked defense in a Week 12 clash with the New England Patriots on Sunday.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has fumbled a league-leading 13 times this season, losing nine of them, and with his club coming off a bye in Week 11, the rookie signal-caller is using the extra practice time to find solutions.Specifically, Jones said he's focused on holding the ball with two hands when he drops back, and on getting rid of it sooner."It's about being mindful of it and being aware in the pocket," he told reporters after Wednesday's practice, according to Newsday's Bob Glauber. "I think it's pretty fundamental in that holding the ball with two hands is going to be more secure than not."Jones added that he doesn't consider the fumbling problem to be especially complicated."It's just getting the ball out on time and not holding onto it," the quarterback added. "I don't think it's necessarily a complex problem, but it's getting it out on time. I think I definitely need to work on it."In part due to Jones' fumbles, the Giants are one of two NFL teams that have turned the ball over at least once in every game this season, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Jones has also shown promising signs under center. Over the past three contests, the No. 6 pick of the 2019 draft has completed 65% of his passes with nine touchdowns and just one interception. Overall, he's thrown for 1,967 yards, 15 TDs, and eight picks through eight starts of his rookie campaign. The 2-8 Giants will try to snap a six-game losing streak when they travel to face the Chicago Bears in Week 12.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. America's Team has a not-so-special place in Tom Brady's heart. The New England Patriots quarterback joked Wednesday about how his childhood fandom of the San Francisco 49ers shaped his opinion of his Week 12 opponents, the Dallas Cowboys."I've really not liked the Cowboys since coming out of the womb," Brady told reporters. All jokes aside, Brady had plenty of kind words for the five-time Super Bowl champions."I've got a lot of respect for those guys. They've actually had a great winning organization, and a lot of great players in their history," he said. "As a Niners fan, you play the Cowboys, and every time they'd hand off to Emmitt Smith it would be a 5-yard gain and you'd pull your hair out. Throw it up to Michael Irvin, and Troy (Aikman) was such a great player. The defense - Ken Norton and "Prime Time" (Deion Sanders). So, I think the history of great players, the tradition ... I love the opportunity to compete against great teams."The Cowboys are one of the many clubs that have struggled to figure out the Patriots over the last two decades, going winless in all four regular-season matchups with Brady under center. They last beat the Patriots in December 1996.New England enters the week with a 9-1 record and is in full control of the AFC East, while Dallas sits atop the NFC East at 6-4, one game up on the Philadelphia Eagles.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. A reported six-week timeline for Matthew Stafford's back injury raised the possibility he could be shut down for the season, but the Detroit Lions quarterback remains determined to get back on the field.Coming off a second straight week on the sidelines, Stafford said Wednesday that there have been no discussions about him being sent to injured reserve, according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN."This is what I do," Stafford said. "This is what I love to do. I love playing football. I appreciate all the hard work that all the guys in this locker room and in this organization put into going out there and trying to win games on Sunday, and I love being a part of that."Stafford suffered the fractures in his back during a Week 9 loss to the Oakland Raiders. The Lions have also lost each of the two games since, with Jeff Driskel taking his place under center.Being cleared to return six weeks after the injury would leave open the possibility that Stafford could play in Detroit's final two games of the season, but at that point it will be a matter of whether it's worth the risk. The Lions are 3-6-1 through 10 games, and digging out of such a deep hole becomes all the more difficult without their star quarterback leading the charge.Stafford had been putting together the most impressive season of his career prior to the injury, throwing for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns, and five interceptions in eight starts.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Michael Bennett said Wednesday there is no bad blood between him and the New England Patriots, who he'll face Sunday as a member of the Dallas Cowboys."It's never personal in the NFL," the defensive lineman said, according to ESPN's Chris Archer. "It's always business."Bennett opened the season with the Patriots, who acquired him in an offseason deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. He lasted just eight weeks before being jettisoned to the Cowboys.Prior to the trade, the Patriots suspended the 34-year-old for one game after he argued with position coach Bret Bielema about his usage.Bennett insists he's moved on from the beef and had only positive things to say about the Patriots' coaching staff."I learned a lot of football in New England," Bennett said. "I think at the same time, as a player you go into the situation and you think you know football, then you meet somebody who's above you (like Bill Belichick) and knows everything about the game."For me, I learned a lot about football in that situation, learning how to execute at a high level, learning what it takes to develop players. I learned what it feels like to break down a game plan from a different perspective and I think it was good for me as a player. If I ever want to be a coach it would be a good situation to take into that."Bennett has eight tackles and three sacks in three games with the Cowboys. He posted five tackles and 2.5 sacks over six appearances with the Patriots.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Conner, 24, aggravated a shoulder injury in the same contest.Smith-Schuster leads the Steelers in receiving with 524 yards and three touchdowns, while Conner leads the team with 390 rushing yards and four scores on the ground.Wide receiver Diontae Johnson is also reportedly unlikely to be available for Pittsburgh's game against the Bengals after sustaining a concussion against Cleveland.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Find line reports, best bets, and subscribe to push notifications in the Betting News section.Thursday Night Football will pit a pair of 6-4 teams that are looking to separate from the AFC South pack when the Indianapolis Colts travel to face the Houston Texans in Week 12. Here's everything you need to know about the divisional clash from a betting perspective.Line movementThere's been a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to Houston's 41-7 blowout loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. The Texans opened as 5.5-point favorites this week, but they've since seen that number cross -4 all the way to -3.5.When these two teams met earlier in the season, the total closed at 46 and went over in the Colts' 30-23 win. However, after opening at 46.5 this time, the number has dropped to 45.5.Betting trendsWhile Houston was embarrassed in the biggest game of last week's slate, Indianapolis bounced back from a home loss to the Dolphins with a resounding 33-13 win over the Jaguars. Colts head coach Frank Reich is now on a 6-0 run against the spread against AFC South rivals, and Indy has covered 10 of its last 11 against teams with winning records. So, you can probably expect Indianapolis to throw the kitchen sink at Houston - an AFC South team with a winning record. However, Houston hasn't stayed down for long after losses. The Texans are on a 7-1-1 run ATS after failing to cover the previous game. The X-factorHouston's injury-riddled secondary must avoid getting burned again. The Texans rank 20th in yards allowed per completion (10.8), and they've been dreadful over the last three, surrendering 12.2.In the earlier meeting between these teams at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Texans allowed quarterback Jacoby Brissett to throw for 326 yards and four scores. You can't let a Colts offense that prefers to control the clock and run the ball - Indy ranks No. 7 in rush offense DVOA and No. 20 in pass offense DVOA - sling it all over the yard like that and expect to win games.PickAll the trends point to Indianapolis in this spot. Not only have the Colts fared well against good divisional opponents, but they're also 5-1 ATS over the last six meetings, while the road team is on a blistering 8-2-2 run across the last 12 games in this matchup. However, Houston feels like the more legitimate 6-4 team. The Texans have posted more net yards per play and have faced a much more difficult schedule to date. After one of the more embarrassing losses we'll see this season, Houston should be able to rally and cover the number.Alex Kolodziej is a betting writer for theScore. Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky is considered day-to-day with the hip pointer he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday.Nagy is hopeful his starting pivot will practice Wednesday and be available for Sunday's game against the New York Giants."We want him to be out there as the starter. I hope that's the case," the bench boss said.Nagy insisted Monday that pulling Trubisky in the closing minutes of the loss had "zero to do with his play." The former No. 2 pick finished the game 24-for-43 for 190 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.Trubisky spoke positively about his hip after following Nagy to the podium on Wednesday."It feels a lot better. Day and night almost," the QB said.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Find line reports, best bets, and subscribe to push notifications in the Betting News section. It's been coming for weeks, and after another sensational performance, it's official: Lamar Jackson is the MVP favorite. He's not ahead by much. The Ravens quarterback is 3-2 to take home the award, narrowly edging out previous favorite Russell Wilson (7-4) in what appears to be a two-man race in the final six weeks of the year. The next-closest candidate is Dak Prescott at 7-1.In a showdown with fellow MVP candidate Deshaun Watson, Jackson was prolific, throwing for 222 yards and four touchdowns - his second four-touchdown performance of the year - and adding another 86 yards on the ground in a 41-7 blowout win over the Texans on Sunday. The victory catapulted the Ravens to third on the Super Bowl oddsboard amid a six-game winning streak. Before Sunday, Jackson had already proven himself as a passer. He's only the second quarterback since 1950 with two perfect passer ratings in the same year, and he owns the two highest QBR grades this season and two of the 10 best since 2006. He's also on pace to break Michael Vick's record for rushing yards by a quarterback, in part because of runs like these:

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph didn't maliciously grab Myles Garrett's helmet at the beginning of their Thursday Night Football brawl, he said Wednesday."I took a late shot," Rudolph told reporters from a prepared statement. "Did not agree with the way he then took me to the ground. My natural reaction was just to get him off from on top of me."Garrett was suspended for the rest of the season - and potentially more - after ripping off Rudolph's headgear and bashing him over the head with it in the final seconds of the game. Replays of the melee, however, showed that Rudolph tugged at the Cleveland Browns star's helmet first."I was just trying to get him off from on top of me," he reiterated when pressed on his actions.Unlike Garrett, Rudolph escaped the incident without a suspension. He is expected to face a steep fine from the NFL and said he'll comply with whatever discipline is handed down. The 24-year-old dismissed a query about whether he launched a verbal assault on Garrett that would have increased tensions right before the fight broke out."Definitely didn't say anything that escalated it," he said. "... I got to do a better job of keeping my composure in those situations. It was an unfortunate situation for both teams involved."The Browns won the game 21-7, intercepting Rudolph four times before the two teams partook in the biggest NFL scrap in recent memory.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. The hamstring injury to Tyreek Hill was deemed minor and the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver could be ready to play after the team's Week 12 bye, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.Hill is reportedly considered day-to-day with the injury he suffered during Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Los Angeles Chargers could get their All-Pro safety back following their week off.Derwin James has missed the entire regular season after suffering a stress fracture in his foot during August. The Chargers have started 4-7 without him, but the stud sophomore is looking to make his return in Week 13 when the team comes out of its bye."I'm feeling well, feeling better, getting better every day," James said Tuesday on "NFL Total Access," according to NFL.com's Jeremy Bergman."Just taking it day by day. It's real close, real soon. I can say that. So just taking it day by day. Working hard to get back out there."James burst onto the scene with a stellar rookie season in 2018, racking up 105 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, and 13 passes defensed. He was also the third-ranked safety in coverage, according to PFF, allowing just 7.1 yards per reception and a 71.8 passer rating against. The Chargers have just five games left to turn their season around. The NFL Power Rankings are selected by a panel of theScore's football editors.1. Baltimore Ravens (8-2)Patrick Smith / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 1Even the most diehard defenders of Lamar Jackson didn't see what was coming this season. The dual-threat quarterback's sophomore leap has been so enormous, especially as a passer, that he's now the favorite to take home the MVP award.2. Seattle Seahawks (8-2)Previous Rank: 2Labeled as a big body with a limited route tree, DK Metcalf has proven to be a much more developed product. He leads rookie wideouts in yards and shares the lead in touchdown receptions with five.3. San Francisco 49ers (9-1)Previous Rank: 4It shouldn't be a shock that the 49ers' defense has become elite after years of adding the necessary pieces. The receiving corps, however, has been a pleasant surprise. San Fran is getting contributions from everyone, including rookie Deebo Samuel, who leads the team's wideouts in catches and yards.4. New England Patriots (9-1)Previous Rank: 2The Patriots' offensive line has gone from one of the best in the league to one of the worst. Shaq Mason has regressed at right guard and Tom Brady's blind side has been a massive issue during Isaiah Wynn's injury-related absence.5. New Orleans Saints (8-2)Sean Gardner / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 6After fielding the NFL's 29th-ranked pass defense in 2018, New Orleans solved its secondary issues in a big way. With Marcus Williams and Marshon Lattimore in the midst of Pro Bowl campaigns, the Saints sit fifth in total defense.6. Green Bay Packers (8-2)Previous Rank: 5The Packers' offseason was dominated by concerns over a potential power struggle between franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers and rookie head coach Matt LaFleur. Through 11 weeks, the utter absence of drama has been surprising - though winning does cure most ills.7. Minnesota Vikings (8-3)Previous Rank: 7Mike Zimmer's defenses are known for stifling passing attacks downfield. But it's been a different story in 2019, with Minnesota ranking 30th in QBR allowed on deep passes.8. Kansas City Chiefs (7-4)Previous Rank: 9The oft-criticized Chiefs pass defense ranks 12th in the league and is getting strong contributions from Charvarius Ward and Rashad Fenton while Kendall Fuller's out with an injury.9. Dallas Cowboys (6-4)Previous Rank: 10The Cowboys haven't been able to solve their slow starts; they've allowed opponents to score first eight times. It's a staggering stat considering the amount of talent on the NFC East leader's roster.10. Houston Texans (6-4)Rob Carr / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 8Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson lead a surprisingly strong Texans run game after Lamar Miller tore his ACL in August. Houston tailbacks are averaging 5 yards per carry and the team ranks fifth in yards per game on the ground.11. Oakland Raiders (6-4)Previous Rank: 12After their offseason drama, what's more surprising than the Raiders challenging for not only a playoff spot, but the division? The majority of their draft class is contributing right away and following Jon Gruden's leadership.12. Buffalo Bills (7-3)Previous Rank: 15The most surprising development in Buffalo is the lack of development in the team's running game. Although he's averaging over 2 yards per carry more than Frank Gore, the Bills keep refusing to make Devin Singletary their featured back.13. Indianapolis Colts (6-4)Previous Rank: 18For a well-coached team, a handful of the Colts' results in 2019 are head-scratchers. Indianapolis beat Houston and Kansas City (at Arrowhead) but lost to the Dolphins and Raiders at home.14. Los Angeles Rams (6-4)Previous Rank: 13The Rams' offense, a unit that scored 32.9 points per game last season, has fallen off significantly, averaging just 24.3 points. The running game, led by Todd Gurley, ranks 20th in the league.15. Philadelphia Eagles (5-5)Mitchell Leff / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 11A Philly receiving corps that features Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Nelson Agholor, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Zach Ertz, and Dallas Goedert was expected to be a strength. For a variety of reasons (including injury), the group has turned out to be one of the worst in the NFL.16. Tennessee Titans (5-5)Previous Rank: 17No one is going to mistake Ryan Tannehill for Aaron Rodgers, but the veteran quarterback has Tennessee fighting for a playoff spot after taking over for Marcus Mariota. Tannehill is 3-1 as a starter this year and has completed 71% of his passes.17. Carolina Panthers (5-5)Previous Rank: 14After amassing just 35 sacks in 2018 - 27th in the NFL - Carolina leads the league with 39 quarterback takedowns after Week 11. Veterans Mario Addison and Gerald McCoy, along with rookie Brian Burns, lead an impressive front seven.18. Cleveland Browns (4-6)Previous Rank: 23Baker Mayfield's issues with throwing deep are perplexing after he excelled in that area as a rookie. In 2018, he had 11 touchdowns (sixth in the NFL) and an adjusted completion percentage of 51.4% (second) on passes of 20 yards or more, per PFF. This year, Mayfield only has three such touchdowns, and his accuracy has dropped to 40.5%.19. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5)Previous Rank: 16Pittsburgh's defense has habitually failed to live up to its talent level. But in a year where the Steelers desperately needed it to step up after losing Ben Roethlisberger, the unit has become elite. Inspired by the addition of Minkah Fitzpatrick, Pittsburgh ranks third in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA.20. Chicago Bears (4-6)Previous Rank: 19Mitchell Trubisky appeared on track to become at least an average starter after a solid 2018. But Trubisky's third year has been so bad - he ranks 29th of 32 in QBR and has thrown just nine touchdowns - that Chicago should be in the market for a new quarterback this offseason.21. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6)Previous Rank: 20Second-year wide receiver DJ Chark came out of nowhere to emerge as one of 2019's breakout performers. He's tied for the league lead with eight touchdowns and his 796 yards rank 10th.22. Los Angeles Chargers (4-7)Previous Rank: 22It's alarming how much Philip Rivers has dropped off. After 10 and 12 interceptions in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, respectively, Rivers has thrown 14 picks through 11 games. His 85.5 passer rating is also his lowest since 2007.23. Detroit Lions (3-6-1)Previous Rank: 21Matt Stafford's days as a gunslinger appeared to be over after he finished 36th out of 39 quarterbacks in average completed air yards (4.7) in 2018, per Next Gen Stats. But the Lions quarterback, who's currently out with a back injury, rained down fire in 2019. In the aforementioned stat, Stafford's mark of 8.3 yards easily leads the league.24. Arizona Cardinals (3-7-1)Previous Rank: 25While the Cardinals' offense has largely been a positive in 2019, David Johnson's play has been concerning. He's started eight games and has just 302 rushing yards, an average of 37 per game. He hasn't eclipsed 100 rushing yards in a game since November 2018.25. Atlanta Falcons (3-7)Carmen Mandato / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 26Although the Falcons' defense is far healthier this year than in seasons past, it's been more of the same for Dan Quinn's unit. Even with all of its speed and talent, Atlanta is giving up 26.2 points per game - seventh-worst in the league.26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-7)Previous Rank: 24What is up with O.J. Howard? The tight end figured to thrive in Bruce Arians' offense, but he's totaled just 17 catches and one touchdown in 10 games. Howard even got benched during Sunday's loss after a brutal drop led to an interception.27. New York Jets (3-7)Previous Rank: 29Not only has Sam Darnold failed to take the step forward that you would expect from a third overall pick, but he's moved in the opposite direction. The USC product can't shake his disdain for throwaways, and it's resulting in some hideous interceptions.28. Denver Broncos (3-7)Previous Rank: 27What's most surprising about these Broncos is how competitive they've been. Of their seven losses, six of them came by a combined 27 points. Even with Brandon Allen at the controls for the past two games, Denver has remained a tough out.29. Miami Dolphins (2-8)Previous Rank: 28Despite their apparent attempt to tank for the No. 1 overall pick, the Dolphins have won not one, but two games. They even defeated the playoff-contending Colts (albeit sans Jacoby Brissett).30. New York Giants (2-8)Icon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyPrevious Rank: 30Even when he's been healthy, Saquon Barkley hasn't reproduced the success that he had last year, when he was running behind a worse offensive line. Barkley is averaging 4 yards per carry, down from the 5 he posted as a rookie, and has just two rushing scores compared to 11 last year.31. Washington Redskins (1-9)Previous Rank: 31It's far too early to label him a bust, but Dwayne Haskins hasn't shown the type of promise one would expect from a first-round pick. The Redskins' depressed fan base has to be worried about the readiness of a quarterback with two touchdowns against five interceptions who's taken 14 sacks.32. Cincinnati Bengals (0-10)Previous Rank: 32While Cincinnati's poor offensive line was always going to limit the ceiling of the running game, Joe Mixon's struggles have been shocking. A year after racking up 1,118 yards and eight touchdowns, Mixon is averaging 1.3 fewer yards per carry and has found the end zone just once as a runner.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. The New England Patriots activated left tackle Isaiah Wynn to their 53-man roster on Tuesday.Wynn is set to return for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, a source told ESPN's Field Yates. He was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a foot injury during Week 2.The Patriots played Marshall Newhouse at left tackle during Wynn's absence. The veteran struggled to protect Tom Brady, giving up six sacks and 15 pressures in nine games, according to PFF.Wynn is New England's second and final player to be activated off IR following the return of rookie wide receiver N'Keal Harry.A first-round pick in 2018, Wynn also missed all of his rookie campaign after suffering a torn Achilles in the preseason.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Baltimore Ravens issued statements from former offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and current head coach John Harbaugh on Tuesday disputing suggestions Mornhinweg was intent on moving quarterback Lamar Jackson to wide receiver in 2018.Former NFL GM Mike Lombardi said on Monday's edition of "The GM Shuffle" podcast that Mornhinweg asked his fellow coaches at one point in 2018, "When are we gonna move him to receiver?"Mornhinweg explicitly denied Lombardi's account."That didn't happen. Never said that," Mornhinweg said. "My thoughts before the draft, and even more when we started working with Lamar, was that this young man was going to be a special quarterback. Very early we saw that along with all of his throwing and escape abilities, he reads the field as well as any young quarterback I ever worked with."The Ravens announced in January they would not retain Mornhinweg and that Greg Roman would be promoted from assistant head coach to offensive coordinator as the team transitioned from Joe Flacco to Jackson at quarterback."Organizationally, we were on the same page with Lamar, and I thought (former general manager Ozzie Newsome) and (current GM Eric DeCosta) did a great job to take him where we did," said Harbaugh. "Marty was excited from the beginning to coach Lamar and was instrumental in helping him progress through his rookie season."Jackson has taken the league by storm in his second NFL campaign and is a leading candidate in the MVP race.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Find line reports, best bets, and subscribe to push notifications in the Betting News section.I hate Week 12.In 2004, my father and I entered into a large survivor pool together, as we did most years, and we were sprinting toward a large payout. A field of nearly 10,000 had been whittled down to less than 100, as we rounded the final turn. With aplomb, we locked in our pick. The 7-3 Denver Broncos were hosting the 3-7 Oakland Raiders, whom they had already beaten 31-3 in California. They were 11-point favorites. We were one step closer to retirement.During what had become a game of runs, Jake Plummer and the Broncos had taken a 24-13 stranglehold midway through the fourth quarter. Time to check the Week 13 schedule, right?Kerry Collins then hit Ronald Curry for a short touchdown before finding Jerry Porter in the end zone just past the two-minute warning to give the Raiders the lead. Now down by one, Plummer brought the Broncos into field-goal position, but Jason Elam's 43-yard attempt was blocked in quite spectacular fashion. I'll never trust a kicker again.Fast forward to 2008. It's Week 12 again. The 6-4 Broncos were home to the miserable 2-8 Raiders, this time as eight-point favorites. But Jay Cutler buckled like only he could, and JaMarcus Russell - yeah, that guy - led Oakland to a 31-10 win. Denver never sniffed a lead. The moral of the story: exercise caution. This isn't the time to get comfortable and start spending your winnings; you haven't won anything yet. Do your due diligence. Take it game by game, quarter by quarter, play by play. And never bet on Jay Cutler.Safest picks1. New Orleans Saints (vs. Carolina Panthers)The Saints faced a tricky test in Week 11, going into Tampa Bay coming off a disappointing loss to the Falcons. They responded excellently. The defense bounced back and, even more importantly, Drew Brees looked like his old self.A win here would give the Saints a four-game lead in the division over Carolina, with the Panthers having dropped off significantly since their bye. They earned just one win in the last four weeks, but most concerning has been the play of their second-year quarterback. Kyle Allen has just three touchdowns to nine interceptions in the team's last four contests after throwing seven TDs and zero picks in his first four starts.Carolina's defense has also stumbled, allowing 13 rushing touchdowns and an average of 29.8 points over the last five games. The Panthers boast the league's 27th-best rushing defense and sit 25th in points allowed. Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas will feast for the Saints, while Allen will struggle against New Orleans' defense, which should be boosted by the return of Pro Bowl corner Marshon Lattimore.2. Cleveland Browns (vs. Miami Dolphins)The Browns might have topped this list if it wasn't so hard to fully trust head coach Freddie Kitchens, but this is a great spot for them in Week 12.Teams that are playing in a third successive home game and are favored by at least a touchdown are 24-0 straight up since the start of the 2014 season. Teams favored by double digits in this spot are 17-1 SU since 2007 and 17-4 against the spread. The Browns have turned a corner over the past couple of weeks and, led by Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, should be able to run all over the Dolphins' 31st-ranked rushing defense.3. Buffalo Bills (vs. Denver Broncos)There might not be an easier NFL team to figure out than the Bills. They beat bad clubs and lose to good ones. The teams that Buffalo has beaten this year own a combined 13-47 record. With a home date against the 3-7 Broncos on tap, you know what to do.Don't be fooled by Denver's performance last week in Minnesota. It was a letdown spot for the Vikings, who were still able to close out the contest on a 27-3 run and secure the win. Now, the Broncos face a second straight road game and the league's third-ranked defense, with rookie quarterback Brandon Allen completing less than 50% of his passes.4. New England Patriots (vs. Dallas Cowboys)The Patriots have won 20 consecutive home games, while the Cowboys are 0-3 this season against teams with winning records. Based on the coaching matchup alone, you should feel confident in a New England win - Jason Garrett couldn't even hold Bill Belichick's clipboard.Dallas is 1-7 SU versus teams outside of their division when listed as road 'dogs of six or more, while the Patriots are 96-10 as home favorites of 6.5 or more in the Belichick-Tom Brady era.Week 12 safety rankingSafety rankings (SR) are out of 10 based on the author's picksAWAYHOME (SPREAD)WINNER (SR)CarolinaNew Orleans (-9.5)NO (9)MiamiCleveland (-10.5)CLE (8)DenverBuffalo (4.5)BUF (7)DallasNew England (-6.5)NE (7)IndianapolisHouston (-4)HOU (5)N.Y. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a hamstring injury on Monday Night Football early in the first quarter.Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said postgame that Hill strained his hamstring, but he didn't disclose the severity of the ailment, according to team reporter BJ Kissel.Hill will have an MRI on his hamstring within the next day or so, sources told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The 25-year-old went to the locker room shortly after. He joined his teammates on the sideline in the second half but didn't return to the game. The speedy wideout pulled up while running a route and was immediately taken out of the game. Chiefs trainers attempted to stretch out his hamstring before taking him for further evaluation.Hill missed four games earlier this season, injuring his clavicle in Week 1.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday they have waived Mark Walton after learning the running back was involved in a police matter.Walton was arrested Tuesday morning for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, according to a police document released to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.The woman is five weeks pregnant and Walton is the father. He allegedly pushed the woman into a wall and punched her in the face and head several times."We hold our players to a high standard and take these matters very seriously," general manager Chris Grier said in a team statement.Walton, 22, was suspended for four games in early November for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The ban stemmed from three offseason arrests predating his time with Miami. The Cincinnati Bengals, who drafted Walton in the fourth round in 2018, waived him in April after he was arrested three times in 2019.The two-year pro started four games and played in seven for the Dolphins this season, accumulating 201 rushing yards and 89 receiving yards.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Rob Gronkowski plans to be in Miami for Super Bowl weekend, but he won't be playing in the big game. The retired tight end announced Tuesday that he'll be hosting a beach party music festival featuring Diplo, Kaskade, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, and 3LAU."We're going to be world champs again, but this time, of partying. It's going to be the biggest rager Miami has ever seen," Gronk said in a video he shared on Instagram. Many people, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, held out hope the four-time All-Pro would make a late-season return for the Patriots' playoff run. However, Gronkowski has maintained all year he has no plans to return to the gridiron in the near future, though he continues to leave the door ajar for a potential comeback."I wouldn't say 'never coming back,'" Gronkowski told ESPN's Mike Reiss on Tuesday. "I'm 30 years old. I'm young. I still stay fit, still watch the game whenever I can, still enjoy it. I'm feeling good but, you know, one year off could possibly be the case. Or maybe two years off, man."It's always an option in the back of my head. It's not like I'm not staying in shape and not doing anything. I'm never stressed over it."Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

FAAB bids are set off a $100 budget. Only players owned in less than 60% of leagues are considered.QuarterbacksJim McIsaac / Getty Images Sport / GettyBaker Mayfield and Derek Carr are around the 60% ownership mark and are the top streamers this week, if available.Sam Darnold, JetsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidvs. OAK22%$1Starting Darnold in fantasy remains a risky proposition, but you can feel a little better about it after two straight weekly finishes inside the top 10, including a four-touchdown performance in a win over the Redskins last Sunday. The Jets' schedule gets easier with outings against the Raiders, Bengals, and Dolphins in the next three weeks, making Darnold a borderline QB1 in the short term.Jacoby Brissett, ColtsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat HOU38%$1The last time Brissett met the divisional rival Texans, he posted his best stat line of the season with 326 yards and four touchdowns in Week 7. Houston's defense continues to be riddled with injuries, which might explain why they've allowed three or more passing scores in five of their previous six contests. Brissett will be a strong streamer play even on a short week with a banged-up group of pass-catchers.Other options: Jeff Driskel at WAS (3% owned), Ryan Tannehill vs. JAX (21% owned), Mason Rudolph at CIN (10% owned), Nick Foles at TEN (32% owned), Ryan Fitzpatrick at CLE (10% owned), Kyle Allen at NO (34% owned), Dwayne Haskins vs. DET (4% owned)Running backsPatrick McDermott / Getty Images Sport / GettyJaylen Samuels is around the 60% ownership mark and should be owned in almost all leagues.Derrius Guice, RedskinsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidvs. DET48%$19Despite seeing the field on less than 30% of the Redskins' snaps, Guice's return to action went about as well as anyone could have hoped. The sophomore back rushed seven times for 24 yards and scored his first touchdown as a pro on a screen pass he broke for 45 yards. Washington's coaching staff would be wise to limit Guice's workload the rest of the season in an effort to preserve him for 2020 and beyond, but as we witnessed against the Jets, it doesn't take much for him to make an impact. His next opponent - the Lions - have given up 60 yards from scrimmage and/or a touchdown to 17 different running backs this season. Let that sink in for a second, remembering Detroit's only played 10 contests so far. With upcoming games against other bottom-10 run defenses like the Panthers and Packers, Guice will be an RB3 with RB2 upside while splitting time with Adrian Peterson.Jonathan Williams/Jordan Wilkins, ColtsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat HOU4%/1%$14/$9Marlon Mack underwent surgery on his fractured hand and is expected to miss at least a few weeks. In his absence, Williams went off for 116 rushing yards and 31 receiving yards versus the Jaguars, making him the most likely candidate to handle lead back duties on Thursday Night Football. However, Williams' eruption was only possible because the regular backup Wilkins was sidelined with an ankle injury. On Monday, Wilkins voiced optimism he would be ready for the date with the Texans, complicating things for fantasy managers. Fortunately, we'll have a chance to learn more after Tuesday's practice, but if forced to make a decision now, I'd go with Williams and the hot hand. Nyheim Hines (17% owned) is also in the mix, though his role as a passing-down specialist should remain the same, leaving him as a PPR flex play. The Colts' offensive line is capable of turning any one of these backs into fantasy difference-makers while Mack is out.Bo Scarbrough, LionsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat WAS1%$9Since Kerryon Johnson was placed on injured reserve, the Lions' backfield has been a fantasy wasteland. Ty Johnson (28% owned) managed to clear concussion protocol and suit up last week but was barely used and JD McKissic (33% owned) also saw his snaps and touches decline dramatically from the game before. Instead, Matt Patricia's crew went with 6-foot-2, 235-pound Scarbrough, who hammered his way for 55 yards and a score on 14 carries. So Scarbrough is the next man up with a chance to secure the lead job moving forward, just keep your expectations in check for a runner lacking involvement in the passing game.Jay Ajayi, EaglesNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidvs. SEA22%$7With Jordan Howard sidelined, the tandem of Miles Sanders and Boston Scott failed to do much damage against the Patriots. Ajayi was active, but didn't play a single snap in the game after signing a few days prior. That'll change this week if Howard is once again held out. We could see Ajayi serve as a Howard clone for an offense in desperate need of a stable ground attack. Fantasy owners looking for a bye week or injury replacement could do worse than Ajayi given the touchdown upside that comes with Howard's role.Other options: Kalen Ballage at CLE (37% owned), Trey Edmunds at CIN (3% owned), Alexander Mattison on Bye (29% owned), Tony Pollard at NE (12% owned), Gus Edwards at LAR (7% owned), Darrel Williams on Bye (5% owned), Rashaad Penny at PHI (20% owned), Ryquell Armstead at TEN (2% owned), Malcolm Brown vs. BAL (6% owned), Rex Burkhead vs. DAL (7% owned), Wayne Gallman at CHI (5% owned), Bilal Powell vs. OAK (0% owned), Giovani Bernard vs. PIT (4% owned), Jalen Richard at NYJ (4% owned), Raheem Mostert vs. GB (15% owned), Patrick Laird at CLE (0% owned), DeAndre Washington at NYJ (1% owned), Dion Lewis vs. JAX (9% owned), Darrell Henderson vs. BAL (21% owned), Peyton Barber at ATL (26% owned), Qadree Ollison vs. TB (0% owned)Wide receiversThearon W. Henderson / Getty Images Sport / GettyDeVante Parker, Dede Westbrook, Will Fuller, and Josh Gordon are around the 60% ownership mark and should be owned in almost all leagues.Deebo Samuel, 49ersNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidvs. GB54%$19While Emmanuel Sanders and George Kittle have dealt with injuries over the last two weeks, Samuel has emerged as a potential No. 1 receiver in the 49ers' offense. The rookie has played over 80% of San Francisco's snaps during that time, seeing double-digit targets in both contests and delivering stat lines of 8-112-0 and 8-134-0. Sanders reaggravated his rib injury in Sunday's contest, putting his Week 12 status in doubt. Samuel needs to be owned in all leagues as a WR3 in fantasy and could vault into the WR2 conversation if Sanders is inactive.James Washington, SteelersNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat CIN8%$9Juju Smith-Schuster is dealing with a variety of injuries and Diontae Johnson suffered a concussion that caused him to bleed from the ear last Thursday. If they're unable to go this week, Washington could be the top option in the Steelers' aerial attack in a favorable draw against the Bengals. Cincy's defense has given up at least 70 yards to six different receivers in their last four games. Meanwhile, Washington has started to come on recently with 4-69-0, 6-90-1, and 3-49-0 stat lines over the last three weeks. He'll be a fringe WR2 buoyed by volume if his two teammates can't go.Randall Cobb, CowboysNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat NE15%$9Speaking of No. 3 receivers with enhanced outlooks, Cobb has posted back-to-back games with over 100 yards and a touchdown. Dak Prescott's MVP-level play is partially responsible, as is Amari Cooper's nagging injuries. Either way, Cobb warrants a long look in fantasy as a potential WR3, just be careful this week when he takes on the vaunted secondary of the Patriots.Sterling Shepard/Darius Slayton, GiantsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat CHI40%/25%$9/$7Prior to their Week 11 bye, Slayton showcased his ceiling by turning 14 targets into 10 catches, 121 yards, and two scores. That was with Shepard and tight end Evan Engram not in the lineup. Though Engram is still doubtful to play this week, Shepard was listed as a full participant in Monday's practice, so it's possible we could see him return from his concussion issues sooner than expected. Slayton's value would be much higher if the Giants play it safe and keep Shepard on the shelf, but both wideouts are upside WR4 options thanks to excellent playoff schedules that feature the Eagles, Dolphins, and Redskins.Other options: Mecole Hardman on Bye (33% owned), Hunter Renfrow at NYJ (14% owned), N'Keal Harry vs. DAL (12% owned), AJ Brown vs. JAX (19% owned), Corey Davis vs. JAX (30% owned), Kendrick Bourne vs. GB (1% owned), Tim Patrick at BUF (0% owned), Robby Anderson vs. OAK (53% owned), Demaryius Thomas vs. OAK (10% owned), Cole Beasley vs. DEN (35% owned), Josh Reynolds vs. BAL (16% owned), Russell Gage vs. TB (3% owned), Ted Ginn Jr. vs. CAR (8% owned), Tre'Quan Smith vs. CAR (4% owned), Taylor Gabriel vs. NYG (7% owned), Anthony Miller vs. NYG (13% owned), Zach Pascal at HOU (36% owned), Kelvin Harmon vs. DET (0% owned), Kenny Stills vs. IND (23% owned), Chris Conley at TEN (13% owned), Allen Hurns at CLE (0% owned), Alex Erickson vs. PIT (11% owned), Marcus Johnson at HOU (0% owned), Andy Isabella on Bye (1% owned)Tight endsIcon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyDallas Goedert, EaglesNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidvs. SEA19%$5With the Eagles' receiving corps decimated by injuries and New England safety Patrick Chung ruled out, Goedert took advantage with his third touchdown in the last month. Lacking star power on the outside, Philly is forced to pepper their tight ends with targets, putting Goedert in position to be a low-end TE1 most weeks. He also offers top-five upside if something happens to Zach Ertz.Noah Fant, BroncosNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidat BUF28%$5The Emmanuel Sanders trade has turned Fant into the de facto No. 2 receiver in the Broncos' offense, as the rookie has seen 23 targets over his last three games. He followed up his three-catch, 115-yard, one-touchdown performance prior to Denver's bye with four receptions for 60 yards against a stout Minnesota defense while getting several looks in the red zone. Another challenge awaits as the Bills are the toughest opponent for fantasy tight ends, but with this kind of volume, Fant is close to being matchup proof.Ryan Griffin, JetsNext UpOwnershipFAAB bidvs. OAK3%$3Normally we only write up two tight ends in this section, but Griffin is coming off a 100-yard performance and needs to be discussed. Not counting Week 10 when Chris Herndon was briefly active, Griffin has put up 4-66-2, 6-50-0, and the aforementioned 5-109-1 while serving as a near full-time player over the last month. The Raiders have struggled to contain opposing tight ends, so another big game could be on the way for the Jets' starter.Other options: Jacob Hollister at PHI (31% owned), TJ Hockenson at WAS (52% owned), Jack Doyle at HOU (43% owned), Mike Gesicki at CLE (17% owned), Vance McDonald at CIN (53% owned), Darren Fells vs. IND (56% owned), Cameron Brate at ATL (2% owned), Dawson Knox (6% owned), Ben Watson vs. DAL (2% owned), Ross Dwelley vs. GB (14% owned)Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Monday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs was critical for the Los Angeles Chargers' dwindling playoff hopes. The Chargers lost 24-17 to fall to 4-7 on the season and two-and-a-half games out of the final playoff spot in the AFC."We talked all along about everything we wanted was still in front of us and, yes, we needed to win this game today, but I felt like we could have won this game today and won out, we could control our own destiny. But now, obviously, I don't feel that way," Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said postgame. The Chargers trail both the Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders in their division and currently sit 12th in the AFC standings. The Bolts have a bye in Week 12 before facing consecutive road games against the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars."I still think we have enough to win next week and beyond that, but we're probably going to need some help," Lynn acknowledged.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday he expects wide receiver Brandin Cooks to return from a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens after a two-game absence, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The speedy wideout was placed in concussion protocol during a Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and later saw a specialist. He was also placed in the protocol after Week 5, but was cleared in time to play in the following game.Prior to this campaign, the 26-year-old had suffered three known concussions. The top deep threat in McVay's offense, Cooks has accumulated 27 receptions for 402 yards and one touchdown this season across eight games.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Following a disappointing 17-10 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, wideout Tyler Boyd voiced his displeasure over his usage in the Cincinnati Bengals' offense."I feel like I'm the go-to guy with A.J. (Green) down," Boyd said, according to ESPN's Ben Baby. "I felt like (my) targets were not where they should have been. I feel that I'm a game-changer and I could have utilized my talents in any way to move the chains, and nothing was coming my way."With rookie quarterback Ryan Finley making his second career start, Boyd was targeted just three times. He hauled in one catch for no gain as Cincinnati dropped to 0-10.The fourth-year receiver is the assumed No. 1 option with Green nursing an ankle injury but appeared frustrated with a lack of opportunities in one-on-one matchups."The way I'm playing, the level that I bring, I believe I get open in any one-on-one coverage across the board against anyone," Boyd said. "All you gotta do is just read the defense. If he sees he has me, just gotta put it there and I'm going to make a play for him."I just feel like what's understood doesn't need to be explained," he added. "I'm not the type of player that's going to go and tell them to throw me the ball, force me the ball and get it done, regardless if that's what's going in my mind. But I know they see it, and I know that they know I'm a reliable guy."Boyd hasn't eclipsed 65 receiving yards in a game since Week 5.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell expressed Monday his disappointment in Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett."There's no place for that in the game,'' Goodell told Gary Myers on the "Pre-Flight Playbook." "He will not play the rest of the season. He will probably meet with us sometime in the offseason, and I think we'll make a judgment on does he have remorse?"Does he understand why it's not acceptable? Do we understand what he's going to do to make sure it doesn't happen again? Those are the things that are going to be very important for us."Garrett will miss at least the rest of the season and any potential playoff games for removing Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph's helmet and hitting him in the head with it during the closing moments of Thursday night's game. The star defender appealed the ruling, and the final verdict will reportedly be handed out no later than Wednesday."It's probably the most significant discipline we've had from any single incident in our history, although we don't keep that stat, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't," Goodell said. "It was in my view and I think our football people (saw) something that had to be dealt with very quickly and very firmly to make it clear to the players that it's not acceptable."Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens said Monday that the 23-year-old is a "good person" and his teammates will "continue to support him."Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Find line reports, best bets, and subscribe to push notifications in the Betting News section.Prior to Week 11, the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans were two of the trendier Super Bowl contenders, with both teams' odds shortening in each of the previous three weeks. After letdown losses on Sunday, futures bettors may want their money back.Let's start with the Eagles, who were 40-1 a few weeks ago, but they entered Week 11 at 25-1 after beating the Bills and Bears before their bye. Sunday's loss sapped any momentum from that stretch when Philadelphia was held scoreless in the second half of a 17-10 home loss to New England. Now the Eagles are 60-1, which is probably appropriate for a club that can't develop its identity offensively and possesses one of the leakier defenses among contenders. If you liked Philly before Sunday, the squad's current odds actually offer stellar value for a roster this talented. The bigger question: Should you still be backing Philly after several poor performances against good teams? That brings us to Houston, which laid a massive egg against the Ravens to shift its odds from 20-1 to 40-1. The latter price is much closer to what the Texans should have been at before Sunday due to their inconsistent offensive line and dearth of healthy defensive talent.Houston has to regroup for a Thursday game against Indy - which beat the Texans four weeks ago - and a contest against New England a week later, so the team's odds could get even longer in early December. If you're buying a Texans renaissance, you should invest in a Deshaun Watson MVP ticket, too, because that's likely what it will take for Houston to stay in contention. Here's how the rest of the Super Bowl oddsboard is shaping up ahead of Week 12, with a few other notable movements among possible contenders:Odds 100-1 or shorterTEAMODDSPatriots11-4Saints4-1Ravens9-249ers8-1Chiefs10-1Packers12-1Vikings14-1Seahawks16-1Cowboys20-1Texans40-1Raiders50-1Rams50-1Colts60-1Eagles60-1Bills80-1Browns100-1Chargers100-1Panthers100-1Steelers100-1Baltimore Ravens (6-1 to 9-2)Baltimore's hype train keeps chugging along after Sunday's drubbing of Houston, which extends a six-game winning streak that includes victories over the Steelers, Bengals (twice), Seahawks, Patriots, and now the Texans. The team's offense has been productive, and the Ravens' reinvented defense - especially the secondary - looks legit after erasing one of the best passing attacks in the league in Week 11.If the Ravens steal the AFC's No. 1 seed from New England, they could still be a value play, even at short odds.New Orleans Saints (9-2 to 4-1)The Saints' odds briefly dipped after last week's stunning loss to the Falcons, but New Orleans is back to 4-1 due to its loaded offense, and a stout defense that ranks seventh in PFF grades and third against the run.New Orleans will enjoy two more NFC South games before hosting San Francisco on Dec. 8. Buying the Saints now instead of waiting could be worth it because if they win that contest, you'll be hard-pressed to find 4-1 odds anywhere.Dallas Cowboys (40-1 to 20-1)Does an eight-point win over Detroit really justify such a massive odds movement here? The Cowboys' issue has been proving themselves against above-average competition, and the Jeff Driskel-led Lions don't qualify. The Cowboys were 20-1 a few weeks ago and could easily fall back into the pack with a Week 12 loss in New England. This price is too short, and 40-1 was too long. Buy if Dallas' odds lengthen again, but don't fall for the current price after a mediocre win.C Jackson Cowart is a betting writer for theScore. Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is "week-to-week" with his back injury, head coach Matt Patricia said Monday, according to Lions reporter Tim Twentyman.A report Sunday said Stafford could miss six weeks with fractured bones in his back. Stafford has sat out back-to-back games because of the injury.Stafford was enjoying one of his best seasons prior to being sidelined, throwing for 2,499 yards with 19 touchdowns and five interceptions over eight games.Detroit has dropped both contests in his absence, all but washing away its playoff chances. In other injury news, Lions center Frank Ragnow and defensive end Trey Flowers are in the concussion protocol, Patricia said. The Lions, who have dropped six of their last seven decisions, will meet the Washington Redskins in Week 12.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens made his first public comments on Monday since an ugly on-field incident last week where Browns pass-rusher Myles Garrett hit Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the head with a helmet.Garrett has since been suspended indefinitely, including for the remainder of the season and playoffs. Kitchens tried to defend the 23-year-old defensive end during his media availability on Monday."Myles Garrett's a good person. We're not going to pile on Myles," Kitchens said, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter. "He had a bad lapse in judgment and that's it. I'm still a Myles fan and I'm going to support him. Our organization is going to support him, his teammates, coaching staff will support him."In the dying seconds of Thursday night's game, Garrett took Rudolph to the ground, prompting a tussle in which Rudolph first tried to remove Garrett's helmet. Garrett then pulled Rudolph to his feet by tugging on the passer's facemask, ripping the helmet off his head. As the skirmish continued, Garrett swung the helmet and connected with the top of Rudolph's head."There's no excuse for that to happen on a football field," Kitchens said. "I know that. Myles knows that. All the players in the locker room know that. That's it. There's no excuse."Garrett is appealing his suspension. Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was also suspended one game for shoving Rudolph when the fight prompted a bigger brawl. Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey was suspended three games for throwing punches and a kick at Garrett.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Find line reports, best bets, and subscribe to push notifications in the Betting News section. The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers meet for a Monday night prime-time clash in Mexico City. Here are the best player props for the neutral-site, divisional tilt.Melvin Gordon over 81.5 rushing + receiving yardsKansas City's defense still doesn't know how to stop opposing running backs. It's allowed at least 100 yards on the ground or through the air to the position in seven of 10 contests this season. Overall, the Chiefs are surrendering an average of 181 scrimmage yards per game to running backs in 2019.Admittedly, the overall rushing total for Gordon is worrying - the Chargers are 4.5-point 'dogs and have to keep pace with the Chiefs' potent offense - so the best bet here is taking his total scrimmage yards. Gordon's workload has finally been ramped up to the point where he's taking two of every three snaps, as opposed to just half the snaps earlier in the season. He's seen 47 combined touches over the last two games, which should inspire hope that the old Gordon has returned for the Los Angeles' offense.Travis Kelce under 6.5 catches and 71.5 yardsThe Chargers' defense is flawed but has done a good job of covering tight ends; only the Patriots allow fewer points per game to the position. Los Angeles gets one of the league's best Monday in the form of Kelce, who's averaged roughly four catches and 37 yards in his career against L.A. Over their last seven contests, the Chargers haven't allowed more than four catches to a tight end, and only one surpassed 71 yards.Keenan Allen under 5.5 catches and longest reception under 21.5 yardsThe Chiefs quietly rank No. 5 in the league in pass defense DVOA due in large part to blanketing opposing quarterbacks' No. 1 options. They held Minnesota's Stefon Diggs to one catch, Houston's DeAndre Hopkins to 55 yards, and Indianapolis' T.Y. Hilton to four grabs and 37 yards this season. Allen has always been a mainstay for quarterback Philip Rivers but has seen six or fewer targets in four of the last seven games. Against the Chiefs' defense, which has been pretty good at limiting explosive passing plays and can guard the slot well, we'll probably see more unders in Allen's stat line.Alex Kolodziej is a betting writer for theScore. Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield won't have to pay his $12,500 fine for criticizing officials in Week 5 after winning his appeal, a source told ESPN's Jake Trotter.Mayfield received the fine when he lambasted the referees over multiple calls in the Browns' 32-28 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 13."I will probably get fined for saying this, but it was pretty bad today," Mayfield stated after the game, before listing examples of where he believed the officials erred. In the appeal process, Mayfield's criticism was deemed not strong enough to warrant a financial penalty, according to the report.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy insisted Monday that he relegated Mitchell Trubisky to the bench at the end of Sunday Night Football solely because of injury."He has a right hip pointer," Nagy said. "It happened on the sack at the end of the second quarter.""Every decision that was made, it had zero to do with his play," he added. "It was completely based off his injury and where he was at."Trubisky was replaced at quarterback by Chase Daniel before the Bears' offense took the field for its final drive against the Los Angeles Rams. Trubisky, a season-long target of criticism, completed 24 of 43 passes for 190 yards with one touchdown and one interception before being removed from the 17-7 defeat.Initially, the Bears did not provide a reason for Trubisky's removal, while NBC cameras showed the pivot seemingly being consoled by his coach.

Tom Brady was short with the media after the New England Patriots' 17-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and he admitted Monday morning it was linked to his frustration with the team's offense."I think I've said I'm generally frustrated during the season. It's very unique. I was very happy we won, but just wish we could have played better offensively," Brady said on "The Greg Hill Show," according to NFL Network's Michael Giardi. "We have to go out and do it."Despite Sunday's win, New England had just 74 total yards rushing. Brady was 26-for-47 for 216 yards passing but receiver Julian Edelman threw the team's lone touchdown pass, and the Patriots were 5-for-16 on third downs.New England ranks 15th in team offense and first overall in team defense, as the defensive unit has carried the Patriots for stretches of the season."The strength of our team is our defense and our special teams. So on offense, we've just got to take advantage of our opportunities and understand where our strengths lie and try to play to them," Brady said, according to Darren Hartwell of NBCSBoston.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley had his best performance of the season, in terms of total yardage, leading his team to a 17-7 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night.Gurley ran the ball 25 times for 97 yards and a touchdown, and he added 36 receiving yards. The 28 total touches were a season-high for the back. He also displayed some of his trademark burst and power on a run of 13 yards and a 23-yard reception."It felt good. I guess I felt like the old Todd," Gurley said after the game."I'm just happy I was able to go out there and just take advantage of my opportunities."From 2015 to 2018, Gurley led the league in touches and total yards. This year, the Rams have made a concerted effort to lighten his workload by including fellow rushers Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson during games. However, Gurley was allowed a little more run Sunday night with the Rams entering the game at 5-4 and fighting to stay in the playoff picture."I was able to get a little bit more opportunity but like I said, you've just got to take advantage of it," he said. The 25-year-old will face a stiff test next week when the Rams take on the Baltimore Ravens and their seventh-ranked run defense.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Sunday Rundown recaps the most important developments from the day's action and examines the significance of those events moving forward.Ravens are the NFL's best teamThe Ravens have boasted one of the league's most dynamic offenses from the outset of the season. Putting points on the board has yet to pose much of a challenge, with opponents finding it nearly impossible to defend a unit that, led by MVP front-runner Lamar Jackson, features the perfect blend of power running and explosive passing plays.Baltimore's defense was another story in the early stages, though, as it seemed like the Ravens were giving up big plays nearly as often as they were producing them. But all of a sudden - and perhaps we should've expected this from an organization that's so often prided itself on a strong defense - Baltimore's figuring things out on that side of the ball. The midseason acquisition of cornerback Marcus Peters seems to have been the catalyst, as the first signs of improvement came with consecutive winning efforts against Russell Wilson and Tom Brady. Sunday's dominance against the Texans was the group's most impressive outing yet, with the Ravens getting to Deshaun Watson for six sacks and a total of 10 quarterback hits en route to a 41-7 win.The newfound balance on both sides of the ball, demonstrated against some top competition, makes the Ravens the best team in football right now. At the very least, they have to be the Super Bowl favorite in the AFC.Redskins are the NFL's worst teamThe few home fans who bothered to show up Sunday chanted "Sell the team" as the Redskins closed out a blowout loss to the Jets - the same club that gave the Dolphins their first win a mere two weeks ago - in what was probably the lowest point any NFL team has reached this season.Washington was awful in all facets of the game, allowing Sam Darnold to throw a career-best four touchdown passes while his burgundy-clad opposite, Dwayne Haskins, looked far from deserving of being on an NFL field.Haskins fumbled twice and was intercepted before two garbage-time touchdowns saved his stat line, but at no point did the Ohio State product look like a player who will blossom into the franchise quarterback he was drafted to be. Haskins hasn't gotten much help from his coaches, blockers, or receivers in his four appearances (two starts) this year, but his issues with recognizing and avoiding pressure are on him, as is his penchant for turnovers. If Haskins doesn't catch up to the speed of the pro game over the season's final six weeks, it's fair to wonder whether the Redskins might consider following the Cardinals' lead by taking a first-round quarterback in successive years - a move that would necessitate Haskins being traded as Josh Rosen was.A competent organization would allow its head coach to help make that future-altering decision, but the Redskins have proven to be anything but over the last few decades. There are only 32 head coaching jobs in the NFL and Washington will find a willing candidate, but the prospect of working for meddling owner Dan Snyder and bumbling team president Bruce Allen should lead top candidates to turn their noses up at the gig. By all appearances, the Redskins are in their current state because Snyder and Allen insisted on drafting Haskins against the wishes of their staff. The Bengals are winless and the Dolphins have the least amount of talent, but the Redskins are the NFL's most hopeless team. For their fans, chants of "Sell the team" might be the only glimmer of hope.Cardinals have bright futureRalph Freso / Getty Images Sport / GettyThe Kliff Kingsbury hire, and the subsequent move to bail on Josh Rosen to draft Kyler Murray, made for a polarizing offseason in Arizona. Whether it was a matter of being forward-thinking, or a little too bold, was up for debate. Nobody should be second-guessing this team's direction now, though. The new era for the Cardinals has yet to yield many results in the win column, but those are coming. And it shouldn't be long before they come in bunches.Kingsbury's Air Raid system gets players open as well as any in the league, and Murray's combination of electric arm talent and an ability to make big plays with his legs makes him the perfect quarterback to run the show. Though both matchups with the 49ers ended in losses - the latest of which came Sunday afternoon - Arizona gave the NFL's No. 2 defense all it could handle in both outings. And this is all with what can safely be considered one of the lesser-talented rosters in the NFL, particularly on the offensive line.Another offseason to add to this group will do wonders to maximize a foundation highlighted by Kingsbury and Murray. Playoff contention should be the goal in 2021, but don't be surprised if the Cardinals make a push to speed up the process and get there next year.Watson drops out of MVP raceThe NFL's MVP race is down to two men: Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson.Deshaun Watson gave it his best shot but he couldn't keep pace with Jackson's Ravens on Sunday. Defenders harassed Watson all afternoon, holding him to just 18 completions for 169 yards with two turnovers and zero touchdowns - the first time this season Watson has failed to throw for a touchdown - while sacking him seven times. As has typically been the case during Watson's brief career, the Texans' pass protection was woeful. Left tackle Laremy Tunsil returned to the lineup after missing Week 9 but didn't look much like a player worth the two first-round picks the Texans traded for him in late August. Not all blame lies with the line, however. Watson willingly took far too much punishment and even appeared to narrowly avoid a major ankle injury at one point. His best trait is his tenacity and he's thrown many touchdowns on plays he extended that other passers couldn't have, but his tendency to try to do too much has left him battered and bruised. And it's finally showing. There's certainly no shame in dropping out of the MVP race in November, but it's fair to ask if Watson must change his approach if he's ever to put up MVP numbers over a full season.New identity in DallasIcon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyFor as long as Ezekiel Elliott has been in Dallas, the Cowboys went about as far as he and the offensive line could take them. It was all about the running game, and for good reason. Few could pound the rock like this team.Things are starting to change, though. Elliott's production has tapered off a bit, as he's averaging just 4.3 yards per carry, although he absolutely remains one of the league's elite running backs. The reason for the shift is more about Dallas' offense no longer needing to go through him. And that's because the Cowboys have one of the league's brightest young stars at quarterback.Dak Prescott put together yet another stellar performance Sunday afternoon, completing 29 of 46 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns in leading the way to a win over the Lions. He's now on pace for 5,153 yards and 33 touchdowns this season, which would blow away his previous career highs.Prescott's emergence is going to go a long way toward the Cowboys giving themselves a chance in the postseason because, as he's shown multiple times this year, the offense's explosiveness with the ball in his hands allows Dallas to be effective playing from behind. And when the Cowboys are ahead, there aren't many running backs you'd rather have to put the game away than Elliott. If the defense can get back on track after a few disappointing efforts, this could be a scary playoff team.Don't bemoan Dolphins for trying to win Any lingering talk of the Dolphins tanking officially died when they attempted and recovered a surprise onside kick in the first half of Sunday's game against the Bills. That's not a play you call if your goal is to lose.Miami fumbled the ball away on the next play and slumped to a 37-20 defeat, ending a two-game winning streak in the process. Maybe it was a microcosm of the team's season. The Dolphins aren't talented (that's by design as their brass rebuilds the roster from the ground up), and their ill-fated attempts to score can have the appearance of deliberate ineptitude, but they're a feisty group who will hit you with their best punch, and it just might knock you down if you take it lightly. On paper, the NFL is the perfect league for tanking. Lose every game and you're guaranteed the rights to draft the best player in college football. But football isn't played on paper, of course, and the 53 men who suit up every Sunday can't reasonably be asked to play at anything less than full throttle with their careers on the line on every play. That reality was laid bare Saturday when presumptive top pick Tua Tagovailoa's football future was threatened by a major hip injury. The Dolphins could tank, and they could earn the top pick, but it wouldn't guarantee them any future wins. Their earnest efforts to win this season won't result in many victories, either, but they could set a foundation for future Dolphins squads to build on.Rams ramping up Gurley?Meg Oliphant / Getty Images Sport / GettyTodd Gurley's workload, or relative lack thereof, has been a story throughout the 2019 season. Despite the Rams insisting that he's healthy, the snaps and overall opportunities have been well short of what you'd expect for an All-Pro back.It seemed possible that, after a playoff run in which his knee became an issue, the Rams were being extra careful with some sort of load-management plan. But might we now be entering a time where they're beginning to take off the reins?Following a two-game stretch where he saw just 22 total touches, Gurley received a season-high 25 carries in Sunday night's win over Chicago. He didn't go off by any stretch, but racking up 97 rushing yards against a stout Bears defensive front, while adding another 36 yards on three catches, made for one of his more productive games of the year.More importantly is the apparent indication, for what may be the first time this season, that Gurley can and will handle a full workload. The Rams' offense has struggled more than anyone could've expected this year, but Gurley once again working as a true offensive centerpiece down the stretch would be a major development for its chances of turning things around.Put Minshew back inOne game of Nick Foles was enough to lay bare that the Jaguars made a mistake reinstalling their $88-million man as the starter over breakout rookie Gardner Minshew.Foles, who suffered a broken collarbone in the first game of the season and hadn't played since, finished Week 11 with numbers that appear respectable: 33-of-47 passing for 296 yards, two touchdowns (one in garbage time), and one interception. But the film reveals that Foles was far from impressive, as he checked down on many throws for a measly 6.3 yards per attempt.Foles' run to Super Bowl MVP honors was historic, but he has 56 regular-season appearances on his resume and it's obvious he's a below-average passer. When the best argument for starting him is based on his paycheck, it's no argument at all.Minshew's magical start had fizzled by the Jaguars' bye, but he still has upside that Foles simply lacks. Let the mustachioed kid finish the season.Falcons showing signs of lifeJacob Kupferman / Getty Images Sport / GettyWhere was this all year? After yielding a mere three points in Sunday's dominant effort against the Panthers, the Falcons' defense has put together consecutive impressive performances in bouncing back from an abomination of an opening eight-game stretch.Given what we'd seen in the first half of the season, last week's convincing win over the Saints seemed like little more than the kind of division-rivalry fluke result we see every year. But after an equally impressive effort on the road in Carolina, blowing out the Panthers 29-3, it seems as though Atlanta has made some truly meaningful changes on the defensive side of the ball. Will this be enough to save Dan Quinn's job? Probably not. Even if the Falcons get hot enough to approach the .500 mark, the question then would be why Quinn couldn't make the necessary changes before it was too late. It's long past time to move on.What this does tell us, though, is that expectations for this Falcons team - many experts saw them as a likely playoff club - may not have been so misguided. There's a lot of talent on this roster. A quick turnaround could be on the horizon with a strong coaching hire and a productive offseason to follow.Weekly reminder that the new PI rule is a messThis isn't a penalty in the NFL in 2019:

Chase Daniel replaced Mitchell Trubisky as the Chicago Bears' quarterback in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.Trubisky exited the game down 17-7 late in the game. Chicago announced that he suffered a hip injury.Bears head coach Matt Nagy insisted that his quarterback landed on his hip earlier in the game and played through it, adding he would've taken him out even if the score was closer, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times."It was all based off (Trubisky not) feeling right," the coach told reporters following the loss. "His hip was hurting him. We knew a few series earlier."I appreciate Mitch's toughness," Nagy continued. "The kid did not want to come out."Trubisky said the injury occurred late in the second quarter and his hip tightened up as the game progressed, according to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.Broadcast cameras caught Nagy apparently consoling the 25-year-old on the sideline.

The Arizona Cardinals were close to snapping their four-game losing streak against the division rival San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.Despite being up 16-0 in the first half and leading by three points until the last minute of the tilt, the Cardinals lost their seventh game of the season after the 49ers scored the go-ahead touchdown with 31 seconds left."I'm used to winning," quarterback Kyler Murray said after the game, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. "I've always won, and then being in situations like when you go up 16 or you're in position to win and you should win, it's disappointing."Although Arizona won three consecutive games early in October, it has now dropped to 3-7-1 in 2019.Against San Francisco, Murray completed 24 of 33 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 67 yards and a touchdown on the ground."I'm a competitor," the signal-caller said. "I love the game of football so every time I step on the field I'm going to do me. I'm going to go hard for the guys in the locker room. So, that's really all I can do. The Carolina Panthers suffered their fifth loss of the season against the 3-7 Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The 29-3 blowout at home to the division rivals marked the Panthers' second straight loss and put a dent in their playoff chances. With the team sitting second in the NFC South at 5-5 - three games behind the 8-2 New Orleans Saints - tight end Greg Olsen voiced his disappointment in his team's latest performance."Guys in this locker room gotta realize, man, playing in the NFL is a lot more than just running around and looking cool, you know. You gotta play," the 13-year veteran told reporters. The Panthers didn't score a touchdown for the first time this year, and their four turnovers were a season high.Additionally, Carolina finished the contest 2 of 14 on third down and committed eight penalties.Olsen described the Panthers' tilt as "just a comedy of terrible football.""Nobody cares. Eric Reid continued his support of former teammate Colin Kaepernick following the quarterback's workout Saturday."The goal was accomplished," Reid said Sunday, according to ESPN's David Newton. "He proved he can play this game. He proved he can throw the ball. Elite. That's what an NFL executive said."The free-agent passer made 60 scripted throws during his workout at a Georgia high school, which drew generally strong reviews from team representatives.Reid was the first player to join Kaepernick in kneeling during the anthem to protest social injustices back in 2016. The Carolina Panthers safety commended the quarterback's courage to continue his comeback attempt."He's been working out every day for three years," Reid said. "Can you imagine the mental fortitude it takes to stay in shape for three years while somebody is blackballing you for you wanting to stand up for people who have been wronged?"Reid, who attended drills in support of his former teammate, maintained the NFL organized the event as a public relations stunt."The proof of the workout was to show he can play the game, was to show he can throw the ball, and he did that," he said. "The NFL wanted to control the narrative by not letting independent NFL media into the workout to document the workout."They wouldn't even tell him who was going to run his routes for him. They wouldn't even give him a script for the workout. Is Colin supposed to trust an organization that has blackballed him? He's not that naive."Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Find line reports, best bets, and subscribe to push notifications in the Betting News section. The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers face off in Mexico City on Monday night. It's a big game in the AFC West with the Chiefs sitting at 6-4 and the Chargers being 4-6.It's been a disappointing season so far for the Chargers, but a win Monday night will bring them within one game of first place with five contests remaining. Here's everything you need to know about the matchup from a betting perspective:Line movementKansas City opened -3 on the neutral field, but that line has moved to -4.5 as of Sunday. Expect the public to be all over the Chiefs - as usual - with sharps waiting to hit the Chargers closer to kickoff. The total has seen significant movement to the over. After opening at 49, the line has moved four points to 53. The public loves betting overs on Monday nights, so this number could continue to climb until sharps start buying back on the under.Betting trendsPatrick Mahomes returned from a knee injury last week against the Tennessee Titans and picked up right where he left off, throwing for 446 yards and three scores. However, it wasn't enough, as the Chiefs' defense faltered again in a 35-32 loss. Kansas City is allowing 24 points per game and struggled in two meetings versus the Chargers last season, giving up a total of 57 points. Can Philip Rivers take advantage of the Chiefs' leaky defense? The veteran quarterback will be 38 in December and has looked every bit of his age at times this year, throwing 14 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. Rivers has also struggled against Kansas City recently, as he's 1-9 versus the Chiefs with 11 touchdowns and 16 interceptions since 2014.Expect the veteran to lean on his running game Monday night against a Chiefs defense that's giving up 148 yards on the ground per game. Melvin Gordon is starting to heat up, as he has 188 yards and three touchdowns in his last two contests. Gordon has 42 carries in those two games and should serve as the workhorse again. The trends for this game favor the Chiefs. Not only have they won nine of their last 10 games outright, but they are also 7-3 against the spread (ATS) over that span. Kansas City has been strong when coming off a loss during the last two seasons, going 5-1 ATS in its last six games in that spot. The X-factorThe Chiefs are 7-3 to the over this year, while the Chargers are polar opposites at 7-3 to the under. Los Angeles owns one of the best defenses that the explosive Chiefs offense will face all season. The Chargers come into Week 11 allowing just 318 yards (sixth) and 19.4 points (eighth) per game. That stingy unit has led to the Chargers being an under bettor's dream. The under is 10-3 in Los Angeles' last 13 division games.PickThe Chiefs' defense is still an issue, but Kansas City actually ranks eighth in the NFL against the pass. One reason for that is because teams are running the ball down the throat of Kansas City's Swiss cheese rush defense. Look for L.A. to follow this game plan and rely heavily on Gordon and Austin Ekeler to eat up time and keep Mahomes off the field. With the total driven up to 53, the under has value. Late sharp money could push that number down Monday, but feel comfortable going under 52 or higher.Thomas Casale is theScore's supervising editor of sports betting. Matthew Stafford has been told by doctors that the fractured bones in his back should require six weeks of recovery, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Detroit Lions quarterback could return before then, however, as the club remains unsure about the timeline, Schefter reports.Stafford missed last week's tilt against the Chicago Bears and has already been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Including Week 11, Detroit has seven games remaining in its season. The Lions are apparently holding out hope for a timely recovery, as, they've chosen not to put him on injured reserve. Backup Jeff Driskel will continue to lead the team from under center.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Their NFL careers may be only 10 weeks long, but a number of rookies are already thriving with their respective teams. Here are the top 10 first-year players on offense and defense heading into the final stretch of the season:Offensive rookies10. Mecole Hardman, WR, ChiefsThe league and its fans collectively gasped in fear when the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Hardman and his 4.33 speed in the second round. And the rookie's campaign has thus far played out as expected. He's yet to receive consistent opportunities with elite options ahead of him on the depth chart, but the Georgia product makes the most out of even the smallest chances. Four of Hardman's five touchdowns are scores of 30-plus yards. Few players can turn nothing into something at a quicker rate than he can.9. Elgton Jenkins, G, PackersThe Green Bay Packers made Jenkins their starting left guard after two games and never looked back. The 2019 second-rounder is already a strong run blocker, but he's impressed head coach Matt LaFleur more so with his pass-blocking prowess. Jenkins has yet to give up a sack or hit in eight starts, according to PFF, and quickly adapted to Aaron Rodgers' unique play style.8. Daniel Jones, QB, GiantsSteven Ryan / Getty Images Sport / GettyIt's been an up-and-down start for Jones with the New York Giants, but the flashes of potential he's shown through eight starts are more than enough to give the team hope that it has its franchise quarterback. The first-round rookie has completed 63% of his passes for 1,984 yards, 15 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. The physical ability is there, including the athleticism to extend plays with his legs. Jones will be leading Big Blue for many years to come if he continues to improve his pocket presence and post-snap processing.7. Marquise Brown, WR, Ravens"Hollywood" couldn't have asked for a better start to his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. Brown torched the Dolphins for 147 yards and two touchdowns in his first game, proving his elite speed and playmaking ability in college translates to the pros. The speedy receiver has battled injuries in recent weeks but still has the 12th-most receiving yards on deep targets, and Lamar Jackson has a 134.4 passer rating when targeting Brown. Not many defenders can keep pace with this rookie.6. Erik McCoy, C, SaintsThe New Orleans Saints added to their stout blocking unit when they selected McCoy in the second round. The former Aggie was named the team's starting center prior to Week 1 and already looks like a seasoned veteran. McCoy uses athleticism and technique to win one-on-one matchups against interior defenders and has allowed only seven total pressures in pass protection, according to PFF. Rookie centers don't garner much attention, but McCoy is worthy of the spotlight.5. Gardner Minshew, QB, JaguarsJulio Aguilar / Getty Images Sport / GettyA sixth-round rookie who few saw as ever being a starter, Minshew came out of nowhere to keep the Jacksonville Jaguars' season alive after Nick Foles went down in Week 1. He may not win Rookie of the Year, but such unexpected contributions at the most important position on the field are without question one of the top stories of the year. The Jaguars are turning back to Foles now that he's healthy, but it's clear Minshew has a bright future.4. DK Metcalf, WR, SeahawksConcerns over his versatility, route-running, and lack of college experience dropped Metcalf to the 64th selection by the Seattle Seahawks. You can bet most teams already regret not taking a shot at the athletic pass-catcher. Standing at a monstrous 6-foot-4 and 230 lbs, Metcalf utilized his speed and strength to quickly gain trust from quarterback Russell Wilson. He leads all rookie wideouts in targets, receptions, yards, and deep receiving yards, and is tied for first with five touchdowns.3. Terry McLaurin, WR, RedskinsWhen fans start calling you "Scary Terry" after just a handful of NFL games, you know your pro career is off to a hot start. He torched the Philadelphia Eagles for 125 yards and a touchdown on just five catches in his NFL debut with the Washington Redskins and continued that momentum throughout the first half of the season. McLaurin combines elite speed (4.35 40-yard dash time), high-level awareness, and advanced route-running skills to elude defenders and get open. Improved quarterback play will only elevate the rookie's game.2. Kyler Murray, QB, CardinalsChristian Petersen / Getty Images Sport / GettyAs the first overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals, Murray entered the league with extremely high expectations, and he's thus far handled them with class. The dynamic passer is well on his way to turning around a Cardinals franchise that has one playoff appearance this decade. Murray is accurate on every level of the field and displays excellent anticipation of his receivers' routes. He ranks eighth in the NFL with 2,553 passing yards while completing 64% of his passes. He's accumulated eight touchdowns to one interception over his last five games and is well on his way to proving worth the risk atop the draft.1. Josh Jacobs, RB, RaidersSelected with the initial pick of the two first-rounders received in the Khalil Mack trade, Jacobs has been everything the Oakland Raiders were hoping he'd be, and more. His immediate impact as the centerpiece of a resurgent Raiders offense has him in the driver's seat for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, but he stands out in a crowd including far more than just first-year players. The Alabama star is the NFL's highest-graded running back this season, according to PFF.Defensive rookies10. Nik Needham, CB, DolphinsThe only undrafted player on this list has suited up for just five games thus far, but Needham is making his presence felt on the Miami Dolphins' defense. The former UTEP defender plays with a chip on his shoulder every down. He displays technical skills in coverage and established himself as a potential long-term piece on a rebuilding squad. Miami's pass defense has performed better with Needham starting at cornerback than it did with Xavien Howard.9. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, DB, Saints Jonathan Bachman / Getty Images Sport / GettyBilled as a defensive chess piece coming out of Florida, Gardner-Johnson is showcasing his versatility with the New Orleans Saints, too. The rookie started the campaign as the team's third safety, but injuries and suspensions thrust him into the primary slot-corner role. It's a position that best utilizes his talents, and he's helped the Saints field a top-ten pass defense since he entered the lineup.8. Cole Holcomb, LB, RedskinsDrafted later than most players here, Holcomb has emerged as a pleasant surprise during a forgettable campaign in D.C. Injuries moved the fifth-round rookie into the starting lineup and he's thrived in run defense. Holcomb ranks second among first-year players with 58 tackles and first in stops at or behind the line of scrimmage.7. Chase Winovich, DE, PatriotsThe New England Patriots getting a talented player like Winovich, who fell as far into the third round as he did likely only due to his size, was one of the biggest steals in the draft. Demonstrating the pass-rush ability that made him such an interesting prospect coming out of Michigan, Winovich has racked up 4.5 sacks despite largely being limited to a situational role. Those numbers will really start to take off as he gets more opportunities, adding yet another dynamic element to an already great New England defense.6. Darnell Savage, S, PackersIcon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettySavage's ability to make plays in coverage and near the line of scrimmage has played a huge role in the defensive emergence in Green Bay. The former Maryland star plays every game like it's his last, but his aggressive style rarely leads to mistakes. Savage has the potential to impact every level of the defense with his combination of awareness, ball skills, and closing speed. Quarterbacks are completing 63% of their passes when throwing into his coverage.5. Brian Burns, LB, PanthersThe Carolina Panthers lead the NFL in sacks through 10 weeks thanks in large part to their rookie edge rusher. Burns' length and explosive athleticism made him an instant success in the pros, as he notched 4.5 sacks in his first six games and wasn't a liability in run defense. The talented outside linebacker already scored his first defensive touchdown and has blocked two kicks on special teams. With 21 total pressures and multiple tackles behind the line of scrimmage, Burns is proving he probably should have been taken off the board earlier than No. 16.4. Dexter Lawrence, DT, Giants After a dominant collegiate career at Clemson, Lawrence has emerged as one of the few bright spots on the Giants' defense. His 6-foot-4, 342-pound frame makes him incredibly difficult to block. Lawrence is already a dominant run defender - to the surprise of no one - but his development as a pass-rusher has New York fans encouraged. He has more pressures than any other rookie interior defender and often requires a double-team to slow him down. Lawrence wasn't the most exciting first-round draft pick in April, but he already looks to be one of the league's best bargains.3. Devin Bush, LB, SteelersIcon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyThe Pittsburgh Steelers appear to have finally solved their issue at inside linebacker. Though limited in experience, Bush is already the heart of Keith Butler's defense, combining incredible speed with advanced instincts. The Michigan product always seems to be around the ball, leading all rookies in tackles and stops behind the line of scrimmage. A pure stat stuffer, Bush has recorded two interceptions, four fumble recoveries, a defensive touchdown, one sack, and four pass breakups in 10 games. He's the real deal.2. Josh Allen, DE, JaguarsIf you thought the Jacksonville Jaguars got a steal when they selected Allen seventh overall, you were right. The versatile pass-rusher rounds out a talented Jaguars front four and wins most matchups with his athleticism and play strength. After a slow start to his rookie campaign, Allen has amassed seven sacks and two forced fumbles in his last seven games. Only San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa appears in the backfield more often than Allen does. He has the look of a future All-Pro and his presence may very well make Yannick Ngakoue expendable this spring.1. Nick Bosa, DE, 49ersNot only is Bosa the clear favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year, but he's in contention for Defensive Player of the Year, too. Arguably the top overall player in his draft class, Bosa already possesses a developed pass-rush repertoire. His 44 total pressures lead all rookies and rank just outside the top 10 among NFL edge defenders. Despite playing defensive end and often matching up against elite blockers, Bosa always appears to be around the ball. The Ohio State product has forced a fumble and recovered one, and intercepted a pass in just nine contests. He's captured two NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors and is well on his way to superstardom. If he isn't named the best defensive player in the league this year, it won't be many more before he is.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Colin Kaepernick's agent said representatives from eight NFL teams were on hand for the free-agent quarterback's workout at a high school field Saturday, and their evaluations are rolling in.Kaepernick made 60 scripted throws. No runs or combine-style drills were included in the workout."He was in good shape, as we thought he'd be. Arm strength was definitely still there and he had some real zip on the ball. But he had some accuracy issues on his deep throws. Good enough to be on a roster, likely backup level," one talent evaluator said in their scouting report, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport."He was in good shape and he has fastball. The velocity was real good. Accuracy and touch were inconsistent. On deep balls, he was ordinary. He can still run well. Essentially average overall," another evaluator noted."Good showing. Thought he looked like he did when he was last on the field," said another. In 2016 - his last season in the NFL - Kaepernick threw for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions in 12 games (11 starts). He finished that campaign with a 90.7 passer rating. He also ran the ball 69 times for 468 yards and two touchdowns while losing three fumbles.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc.
