I'm looking to get an LPVO for my hunting rifle, and am looking to keep the price tag under 300. A lot of the ones I'm seeing seem to be intended for AR platforms, and I'd be worried about them not being able to handle the stouter recoil of .30-06. The reason why I want an LPVO is because where I hunt, I encounter both close range (sub 100m) and longer range (over 100, under 300m) shots and would like some flexibility. submitted by /u/8lbSledge

I’m 19 years old I’ve been shooting/ on 4h teams my whole life but have never personally purchased a firearm, friday april 21st I completed and sent my background check, I’ve already spent the $450 on the rifle but I’m still waiting to see if the atf says I can even own the thing, does anyone have any feedback about how long your background check took if you are also under 21? Picked up my first U/O 12ga and finally got my snap caps for a bit of famil. Immediately noticed it it seems to take a bit of extra force especially in the final part of the close action to get it to catch the final bit to close fully. If I go a bit weak on this it, it will just crack open again. Do I need to just polish up on the protein shakes and get a bit more upper-body strength or is it normal for the break action to take a bit of force until its worn in? So I bought a 14.5" super duty upper during black Friday and finally brought it to the range the other day. I brought a case of igman .223 . I couldn't make it through 2 boxes without having to mortar it out ever few rounds. I noticed lines going down the brass. So I go home and strip it apart and clean it and clean the chamber really good and the bolt etc. I removed the bolt and dropped a round in the chamber and it didn't stick it fell out (igman). I tried to hand cycle some rounds and it will stick every few rounds. I have a box of 556 I can try but I'm hoping it's the ammo not the upper. I already called G$ and they said to try the 556 and if any problems send it back in. Is it normal for this to happen with igman? I was able to hand cycle the LC 556 no problem. I noticed also that when I used my laser bore sight that you just push in the chamber it came it scratched. Any ideas? Hard for me to get to the range as I have two kids, but I will try the 556. Title explains most of it. I put my shotgun up for sale through consignment at a gun dealer. After 2 months I called them to check on the status of my shotgun and they said they had not sold it yet. After 4 months, back in the start of March I still had not heard anything from them so I decided I'd head over there and get my shotgun back since it wasn't selling. I get to the store and he looks up my contract and informs me that the shotgun sold a month ago! Now, the reason they haven't contacted me is because the owner got in and accident and haven't been at the store yet, he is the only one that can write checks. I am understanding etc and told them I'd wait until he's able to write a check. Now however, it's been another month, so a total of 2 months since they sold my shotgun and I still haven't heard a single word from them, no update or anything and I'm getting annoyed with their lack of communication. I feel like they can't just sell my shotgun and not pay me what I'm owed until it's convenient for them? There has to be some laws for that? I guess my questions is, what are my legal options here? Do I have any rights? What can I do to get my money? I'm in CO. ​ *Edit: I just called them again and all I was told is that they are working on it and was dodging my question of what time frame I can expect. Hey all, Academy is selling a Redfield 12 gun safe for $290 right now in my area. I was wondering if anyone here has any exp. with this safe? I believe it is a chinese made safe but it seems sturdy enough. The next cheapest is almost $200 more at TS. I don’t need a massive impenetrable safe but just something that will hold up to keeping honest people honest. With the new pistol brace period where you can register an SBR with no tax stamp could I take my Scorpion Carbine and put a smaller barrel on it to make it an SBR or is it a separate form? If I can get it done without a tax stamp I’d love to take advantage of it because I’ve always planned to SBR it. If so, is there a guide to going about doing this with this new clemency program that expires soon? Second question, which I’m sure has been asked but, could I take one of those “oil filters that’s definitely not a suppressor” items that are all over TikTok, Facebook , and Wish and file a form one on it? Of course upon approval of a form 1 I would drill the bottom I just didn’t know if it’s been done before or if there’s a guide for this as well.
