Looking for Places to Buy A Rifle Stock For Savage Axis .308 and M48A Zastava Mauser
Hello there! Just wondering where I could get polymer rifle stocks for two rifles(both got cracks in a stock), Savage Axis (308 Win) and M48A Mauser Zastava. I have been searching online but no success yet. Any good online stores you can recommend? Canadian sites would be the best, but anything works! Thanks for reading and have a good one! Thanks! Whats y’all opinion on the Springfield SA-35?
Me and my father when shopping today and we picked one up. Put about 30 rounds through and there was a weird issue with the gun not wanting to chamber correctly but it started working good after that, it was the first mag and it was also the display gun so it’s probably been dry fired a few good times but other than that it’s a good looking little gun submitted by /u/ClipyBoi_3

S&W sdv9 vs Taurus G3/G3c?
I want a decent full size handgun for now until I can afford a nicer one like a beretta 92 or a sig. These guns above are about the same price and I like them, and hear not terrible things about them, any thoughts? submitted by /u/crypt29

A pair of Pythons: 2023 and 1976
Bought the old one from a guy whose grand father was a detective in Denver. Apparently Colt gifted it to him. Unfortunately the guy fired off about 30 rounds before selling it, but otherwise it had never been fired. Came in this odd box without papers. Brand new one on top. God I love Colt. submitted by /u/dickalopejr
Handgun recommendation for animal protection in Montana
Been living in Montana for a while now but had my first real close encounter with an angry grizz Thursday while shed hunting. I always carry bear spray and typically bear busters in areas I know have high activity. While looking around some deer beds I heard some crunching and noticed a grizzly about 50 feet away, grabbed my bear spray and started making noise. This didn’t really deter it however and it kept moseying towards me. Luckily I was about the same distance from where I parked my Jeep and was able to make it there. This made me realize I may have some protection but if my bear spray fails or the bear is determined I am SOL. I am a pretty big hunter typically pheasants, waterfowl, and deer but never really had a need for a handgun and am not too knowledgeable. This event has made me want to get a handgun for extra protection and am curious what recommendations y’all have. submitted by /u/_jackkk

More rounds of .380 versus less 9mm?
Just looking for personal opinions. I have three carry guns - Glock 19, Glock 43 and Ruger LCP Max. When hiking or camping I’ll bring one of the glocks but otherwise if I’m concealing it would only be the G43 or Max. Sometimes I can only bring a pocket gun so the LCP Max is the clear choice there. But if I am wearing clothes that could conceal either gun IWB, would you personally choose the G43 with 6+1 of 9mm or the LCP Max with 10+1 of 380acp? submitted by /u/adamm_96

Gun safe
I'm looking at a liberty centurion 12 or 18. Those safes are 250-350 lbs. Ignoring the theft component for this convo...how likely is it this safe could tip over if it's not bolted down? That's pretty heavy and around the weight of a fridge. Is it higher risk because the doors are really heavy? I have young kids so thats my main concern submitted by /u/bzm_htx

Question for the folks who keep guns around the house.
Moreso the ones who “keep a gun in every room” or just a couple/few around the house; What spots do you keep them in? How well do you hide them and how did you find a balance between hideability and accessibility? If you have guests (not unwanted of course), what happens if they stumble upon one and want to touch or even take it without your knowledge? My girlfriend(23) and I(21) are staying with my parents. I own two pistols (G19.5 and G45) and when we get our own apartment I’m thinking of the concept of “a gun in every room.” So those of you who do, how do you go about it? submitted by /u/YungLiteBrite
Sig p320 spectre x carry or hk vp90L

Stripped pistol grip threads on ar15 lower receiver
So ill start by saying this is my first ar build/ build in general, I was attempting to attach my pistol grip and I tightened it down pretty good or so I thought and I wiggled it a little to check if it was on good and in the process ended up bending the safety spring and messing up the threads for the pistol grip screw. It's only the beginning of the threads that are messed up the rest of the way down the hole looks fine, anyways I guess my question is how difficult of a fix would this be and if someone could give me some tips so I can avoid more problems like this in the future. A good .380.
I saw Bersa .380 for sale. They’re pretty affordable and I have never heard any negative comments about these products. Not really seeking accuracy mainly because this is a backup pistol/concealment is usually close combat. What I am wondering is does this pistol jam at all? Does it ever misfire? Will it come apart if I shoot it? submitted by /u/Fancie-Rooster
Can I ask the gun dealer to give me a background check?
I had a domestic charge but received a deferred judgement and successfully completed all steps to have it removed. I did some research and it says in Iowa that If you had a charge like a domestic that would take your gun rights away but received a deferred and completed the required steps your gun rights would be returned. I went online to Scheels and purchased a Glock 19 thinking that's a good way to find out, anyways they couldnt give me the gun because I just moved cities and my ID doesn't match my current address (no big deal, I'm getting that fixed Monday) But! I learned they passed a law where a background check and permit isn't required so once I give them my new ID they will give me the gun. Can I ask them to run a background check on me anyways? I just want to make sure I'm following the law and not doing something illegal on accident. submitted by /u/TrevinLC1997

Why are 1911s so over represented in the high end handgun market?
I just did a quick survey of the 87 semi-automatic pistols that are currently available on guns.com for a price of over $3,000. 66 1911s 6 Laugo Aliens 6 Desert Eagles 9 others (CZ, Walther, SIG, Tanfoglio, FK) Why do the high end handgun manufacturers overwhelmingly (75% of the market) produce 1911-style pistols? Is there a reason why there's virtually no high end market for other styles of pistol? Why isn't there someone out there making $5,000 versions of the P226 the way that Nighthawk does with 1911s? submitted by /u/euthanatos
Want a 10mm, I like the S&W, but thinking about first Glock?
I've been thinking about a 10mm for a do-it-all to throw into the truck, for hiking, and because I like big calibers. I'm a fan of the Smith Shield EZ, the 9mm racks and shoots nice, and has a great trigger. I know the newer S&W isn't the same, but It's definitely from the same design family. I've never shot a Glock, but I like that it'll be stupid-reliable, and literally millions of owners can't be wrong. I'd most likely go with a G20SF, but I won't lie I kind of want a G40 because it would perform better, either way I figure if I'm going to get a Glock I may as well get the boomer. submitted by /u/EastwoodRavine85

Sold a g19
So long story short I sold a coworker a glock 19 with a new timney trigger and Trijicon night sights at a pretty good deal. He had to qualify with it today and he learned that the rear sight was not aligned properly. He is now super pissed off at me. I gave him several opportunity's to shoot it and inspect it before we did the transfer. He refused. I told him it's a simple fix but he insists that I did it on purpose to fuck with him. Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56mm Initial Review
Overview Winner of the meme scope poll was the Optika 6. Of the Optika 6's, I went with the fanciest one - model 653608. bought 'like new' from Euro-optic, the 5-30x illum/christmas tree/FFP/supposedly 'ED' glass model. Also of note, this reticle, the MRAD RD, was (supposedly) designed by our fan favorite Ilya Koshkin/Dark Lord of Optics. Total price was $842 shipped to my door, $800 list price, and original optic price was $1250. It comes with: 4 small screws for filling in the screw holes on the magnification ring, a throw lever, really nice scope caps, a sticker, an allen key, 3 really small screws that I don't know what are used for, a cleaning cloth, and a manual. Weight is 37oz. If you don't know who Meopta are, they're a Czech based company that has been around for a long time and specializing in making European-style optics with Schott glass. They have a following among sport shooters in Europe and some headway in the US. Of their optic lines, most are hunting focused, but the Optika 5/6/ZD are more tactically focused and at difference price points ($500/1000/2000). Of those, the Optika 6 is the most modern in design and thinking. The Glass The glass fucks for $1200 I have shitty pictures through it (we'll talk about that later), but CA is present while not being a distraction/minimally noticeable, the resolution is really good, the contrast is great with that classic poppy-green look of Euro glass, color reproduction is spot on, depth of field is surprisingly good given it is a 56mm objective, that is all really impressive. Rated vs the similarly priced Match Pro ED, the MPED CA is a little better, but has 'American' style glass, so to ME, the Optika 6 glass looks more expensive. Whether it actually is better in some degree, I think they are so close it would be difficult to tell on other parameters like exact amounts of CA or tiny resolution detail differences. Both are great buys for glass, just a little different in what they present. But CA is there. I think the camera picks it up more than your eye does in this case. The Razor II is the opposite - camera didn't pick it up as much as your eye does sometimes. The other thing to note the eyebox off a rifle isn't super huge. At 30x, it might even be considered a little tight. Not the worst I've seen and I've struggled more with my ZCO in that regard for pictures while it is still a totally liveable and usable optic. The reticle is among the best designs I've seen. The christmas tree is my favorite style of tree - consistent markings on the crosshair, open/dotted center, extremely simple tree markings, clear numbers on the outsides of the tree rather than on the crosshair. Consistency, consistency, consistency. No fuzzy mark rangefinders, it is strikingly obvious where the halves and .2s are, the dots are bold only on the integers and clearly distinguishable, and at max power, the lines are not too thick. The illum is centered on the center +, not the full crosshair, and not the tree. Very smart design (ignore the background appearance, that was taken through a dirty sliding glass door). That is 30x max illum. At 5x, my phone washes it out on white but it is sometimes-daylight-bright tiny + at max illum. This is minimum illum at 30x indoors. And again. Here is a really shitty picture at 5x and min illum against a dark wall, but my camera refused to focus. The downfall is that the illum is too powerful and there isn't enough baffling or something internal so if you have the wrong mix of settings, you can get illum washout. Like, don't have it at 30x magnification, max illum, in low light.. Lower magnification is a little better, but still not a smart idea to burn max illum in the dark. Eyeguides are also very good, small note. The Controls The video of manipulation and sound so you can get a feel for how they are Turrets 10 mil turrets, zero stop, locking elevation, and tool-less cap reset. A great and pretty unique set of features. The elevation lock is VERY positive. It snaps with authority, not mushes on and off like some other scopes (looking at you, Razor III early models) Hyper tactile and underdamped. I would have preferred more damping on the turrets. I can live with skipping, but I'd rather not second guess the jumps. This can be overcome as it breaks in and with a firm grip rather than a finger spin grip. The turret knurling is excellent. Feel is very chonk. Internals also look pretty good. The markings are obvious, crystal clear, and nicely aligned. Windage has the nice R and L markings on the side - better than some other scopes that have that on the top of the cap. My only criticisms are:
Just built my first AR
